To go to Greece and not go on a single excursion, as for me, is a crime. Therefore, taking with me a good mood from my stay in this country and a small pill for motion sickness, I decided to go to the island of Spinalonga.

Before I went, for some reason the idea came to my mind to read reviews on the Internet. I was even upset, because I had already bought a tour, and they speak very ambiguously about it. Some say that it is better to go by yourself, others that you don’t have to waste time on the ruins at all. And yet, I decided that I would not cancel my mini-trip, anyway, I already tuned in. I am very glad that I went to Crete and not to another place. Here, indeed, there is something to see and you can have a very good rest on the beach, which is also important))). But now is not about that. I wanted to tell you a little about the tour. . .

So let's go. Our first stop was in a very beautiful place - Selinari Gorge. In general, I have a very hard time remembering names, but then, for some reason, a miracle happened). Here is a beautiful monastery of St. George. Wonderful views of the sea from a bird's eye view... (I remember, and I want to go back). Indeed, here you feel like in a fairy tale. And this is only the first place we visited. Imagine how I felt after the whole trip. By the way, the guide tells about the monastery in great detail, but I will not delve into history, because it is better to see once than hear a hundred times, as they say.

Finally, we boarded a boat and sailed to the very island of Spinalonga. Yes, and while we were sailing before it, we visited many other small islands and coves along the way. The water here is so clear that it’s hard to believe that this is possible. You look down, it seems as if it is knee-deep, but in fact - there are still a few meters to the bottom. The beauty!! ! There is nothing to do on the island without a guide, I say right away. But when they tell you about the fortress walls, about the history of this island, you understand that you really are in a unique place. But nature is something. I didn’t get tired of taking pictures at all, I think. The only thing that happened was terrible - the flash drive went bad, so I can't post them here. (photos will be, just from the Internet, I still want someone to see what this place looks like).

We wandered around the bastions, looked at all this beauty and went on to conquer the expanses of the Mediterranean Sea. In the town of Elounda, lunch was already waiting for us. We were told that this city is considered the most elite resort in Crete. A trifle, of course, but still pleased that we were here)))). And the local cuisine enhances the mood even more. The food here is just awesome. Most of all, of course, I liked the fish. I don't remember what it was called, but it was very tasty. No wonder they say that in Greece on the islands you need to eat seafood, and in the mountains - meat. Although, to be honest, meat is prepared excellently near the sea. In general, the table was bursting with food: salad, meat, fish, wine - all in such quantities that one wonders how much the Greeks usually eat a day if such portions are served.

After a delicious lunch, we moved on. Who cares, of course, but for me a walk around Agios Nikolaos after a meal was very helpful. I wanted to loosen up a bit. The town is small, but very cozy and beautiful. Here, right in the center, there is a lake, at which, it seems to me, everyone takes pictures. I'm not an exception))). Lake Vouliagmeni is called. Here we were given free time. Many stayed on the beach, and I decided to go shopping and buy souvenirs for my relatives. There is a sea of all sorts of shops with locally produced goods.

In general, the money was spent, souvenirs were bought, the mood improved even more when we boarded the boat and set off on our way back. I even took a nap. Sea of impressions, everything would be clearly visible in the photographs. I am satisfied and sure that next time I will definitely go to Crete again with my family. And Spinalonga is a wonderful island. Be sure to visit it, I'm sure you'll like it.
