The hotel, of course, is not four, but two stars. Therefore, if you are going for comfort, for the royal bedchambers and heavenly places on the territory of the hotel, you definitely do not come here. The rooms are more than budget, more like hospital wards. But the color. Real Greek mud huts, a little smelly of an old sewage system, with cats, flowerpots, hot concrete paths and rose bushes. Feel free to take a room "overlooking the garden" - a stunning view of the sea is guaranteed to you (absolutely all rooms face the sea, so overpaying for a "view" makes no sense). The kitchen is not deluxe, but it is served by the same colorful Greek waiter: manners, style, upbringing are no worse than in Buckingham Palace. Perhaps the only thing that gave me the biggest displeasure was the beach: a narrow strip under the freeway. It seems that under the Bolshoy Kamenny Bridge in Moscow a towel has been spread. Yes, climbing back to the hotel uphill after a couple of hours on the beach is hard. The hotel has a swimming pool, but it has sea water and it is somehow uncomfortable. But it is very pleasant to walk along the embankment on foot to the village of Elounda. I did not take excursions - robbery, they did not offer anything cheaper than 150 euros. Buses run from Elounda to Agios Nikolaos, Heraklion and other cities. It costs 2 euros. Of course, independent trips have their drawbacks, but, in my opinion, there are more pluses: what is worth just plunging into Wednesday and taking a ride on a regular bus among noisy Greeks. In general, the rest is very specific and requires a mood. I like it.
