Good day to all travel lovers! We were in Greece in June - it was our first time. To say that I liked this country is an understatement. . . My friends and I were delighted! We wanted a relaxing holiday, and not noisy parties, which are enough for us and in our homeland. The choice fell on the town of Nea Kallikratia, as it is famous for its hospitable family hotels and is close to Thessaloniki (30 km) - the second largest city in the country - and therefore to the airport (25 km). We liked our hotel - Aqua Mare Bomo Club - thanks to the many good reviews on the Internet. We knew a lot about this hotel even before we arrived. The reviews did not lie - the hotel is really very comfortable, stylishly furnished, and the staff is friendly: both the hostess Maria and her daughter Eva and the receptionist Diana. In front of the hotel building on the right and left under umbrellas there are tables and chairs and sofas with pillows, plants in pots and flower beds that create comfort. It is very pleasant to drink tea or coffee there both on a hot afternoon and on a cool evening, although you can sit on the balcony, it is also suitable for this. . Inside, the design of Aqua mare can be said to be homely, like a guest house, but at the same time, everything is done with taste. By the way, the hostess does the design herself. The room did not disappoint either, although it was a little small for the three of us, but overall I liked it, everything was fine. There was a refrigerator, and air conditioning, and a hairdryer, and a balcony with excellent sea views, and a safe with a kettle on request (asked, brought). Free wi-fi caught only at the reception, did not work in the rooms or was very weak. We had breakfast at the hotel (in principle, there is either breakfast or no food) - the choice is excellent, delicious scrambled eggs, pastries, salad, as well as a large assortment of sweets, breakfast cereals, jams. In the evening from 6 to 8 they are treated to tea or coffee and cookies sometimes. A minute from the hotel, across the street, was the main street and the embankment, in general, the location of the hotel is ideal. On these two main streets of the city, there were basically all the shops (both grocery and souvenir, and clothes with shoes and accessories), taverns, coffee houses, bakeries, fast foods. I want to note that wherever you try pastries or coffee here, everything is delicious, natural and made as if with soul. . There is nothing to say about seafood and fish! Dine in a tavern overlooking the evening, calm sea with freshly caught marine life, also skillfully cooked, is a real pleasure: mussels, squids, shrimps, scallops, octopuses, small fish such as sardines and large ones such as sea bass and sea bream. At the expense of the sea, here you have to be careful, in principle, as elsewhere. The sea itself is clean, clear, warm and very pleasant. It will only be unpleasant to step on a sea urchin, which lives only on large stones, so it is easy to notice and bypass them, and meet in the early morning on a swim with a jellyfish. They do not seem to sting, but still be vigilant. It is better to wear special shoes for the sea - aqua shoes - you can buy them in a shop opposite the embankment. Sun loungers and umbrellas are exposed by cafes and bars - you take any, and when the waiter comes up, you need to order a drink, keeping the receipt. And that's it! You can lie down at least until the evening. In the town itself there are places to go: many bars with good music (both Greek and American), though the Greeks for some reason do not dance, but just sit, drink, chat. Went a couple of times to genesis, Place, good bars, friendly staff. In general, we are satisfied with the vacation, now only here to relax!
