I would like to describe the Almiridabeach Residence, where my husband and I stayed from 18 to 25 September 2010.
The hotel itself is located in the small village of Almirida on the island of Crete, which is 120 km from Heraklion and 20 km from Chania. This village is not a party place, a very relaxing holiday, a lot of foreigners. To enter the village, you need to drive a circle along the serpentine, since the village is a little off to the side, you can say in the bay. Therefore, who needs parties, then in this village and the hotel it will be boring, but whoever goes to really take a break from the daily hustle and bustle, the rest in this village will be the best.
There are few shops in the village, but you can buy the most necessary things in them. Moreover, drinking water can be bought cheaper than in a hotel.
You can rent a car. This service is possible through the operator who brought you to this hotel, and just on the street.
The cost of rent is different - the more days you rent a car, the lower its cost. Basically, all cars are small, with low fuel consumption. Gasoline is expensive - the cheapest was 1.58 euros at a British petroleum (BP) gas station, and the most expensive was 1.65 euros. It all depends on where you refuel the car. You really need to take a small car, since the serpentine roads are really narrow, there are places where 2 cars hardly diverge.
The hotel itself has 3 buildings:
1. Almirida Residence;
2. Almirida Beach;
3. Almirida Studios.
Almirida Studios is the very first building of the hotel, built approximately 10 years ago. Has direct sea view. There is one swimming pool.
Almirida Beach is the second building of the hotel, built approximately 7 years ago. It has its own bar, a swimming pool with a wind - water mill, which is very beautiful jets of water.
Almirida Residence is the third building of the hotel, built approximately 4 years ago. I will write about this building most of all, since we rested in it.
Paying for the rest in this hotel, there is an opportunity to go to all the buildings, use all the services, but I will say that we did not do this, since the service was enough for us in our hotel.
The hotel consists of 3 floors, there is an elevator, facilities for the disabled (stairs, toilet).
The hotel has 2 swimming pools, one is located on the first floor, the second - on the third.
The hotel has 2 bars, the first one is on the first floor, the second one is on the third. The bar on the first floor serves breakfast and dinner, on the third - only breakfast, dinner is also available, but for a fee.
Now about food. We had two meals a day - breakfast and dinner. Breakfast every day is almost the same. All drinks are free. Dinner is more varied, but drinks are all paid. But if you get to know the staff, who will tell you in more detail what is in the bottles (since they are the only ones not signed). There is something of our mead, which has an interesting taste.
At dinner, you can buy wine of your own production and other drinks that interest you. True, it is better to take a bottle right away (approximately 10-13 euros), since a glass costs 2-4 euros, depending on the wine.
Our room was on two floors, very nice, large, clean and bright. The room has a good bathroom with a shower. There is a small refrigerator, a separate sink. On the ground floor there were 2 separate beds, a wardrobe with a safe (the cost of a safe is 15 euros for 1 week), a sofa, a table, there was a TV and air conditioning. On the second floor there was one large bed for two, a wardrobe, air conditioning and a TV. Rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed daily. It was possible to leave a tip, then the towels took on an even more beautiful shape. The room had a balcony with a small round table with 2 chairs. The balcony overlooks the Almirida Beach building, which was embarrassing only at the beginning. But if you go out to the balcony, then on the right hand you can see the sea.
Now, of course, I will write about the sea. Go to the sea literally 2-3 minutes across the road, which drives 2-3 cars per hour. There are sun loungers in front of the hotel. But I want to give a little advice - where there are sunbeds, this does not mean that you have to go into the sea. Opposite the sun loungers there was an entrance with stones and hedgehogs, but if you go a little to the right (behind the dividing strip with a lifeguard tower), then the entrance to the sea will be sandy. There are stones, but they are very few. The sea is very, very clean, so transparent that you can see the bottom. The sea is so salty that you can just lie on the water. The water temperature at the end of September was approximately 22-25 degrees. For us, the sunbeds on the beach were free, as we had a card from our hotel. For other buildings of the hotel it was paid. Since all the beaches are municipal, you have to pay for the right to stay on sunbeds. The price along the coast is different, approximately 4-7 euros. You can lie on the sand, but we all used sun loungers.
Few people swam in the sea, up to 15 people. This fact is also very encouraging. The coast received the "Blue flag of the coast".
The hotel staff is very friendly. Always smiling and trying to help. The staff is English-speaking, but there was one Russian-speaking girl Fatini or Natasha (for Greeks). In Greece, all Russian speakers are called Natashas.
Many thanks to Fatinia for helping us organize our excursion program along the west-south coast of the island. Crete. She provided us with 3 routes, which were described by one Russian-speaking traveler, to whom we are very, very grateful for several reasons:

This made it possible to move quickly even in a foreign country, quickly find a destination point and, of course, the final destination of an attraction of interest.
