Hotel ratings by criteria:
We were at the hotel from 21st to 28th August 2008. We are a family of two adults with an eight year old child. Three stars initially do not claim a high level, so all the ratings are from the category: I liked it, I didn’t like it. I liked the location of the hotel, because it is located on the first line of the coast. The territory for this category, in my opinion, is quite good. A garden of various plants grows along the path in front of the buildings, where you can see ripening pomegranates, tangerines, grapes, lemons, bananas. The garden is small but makes the area cozy. The hotel itself consists of four two-story buildings with a separate entrance to each room, located in one line. The rooms on the second floor are visually smaller than the rooms on the first floor. Before number on the first - a small terrace, on the second - a balcony. Room equipment is quite old. Something is not working.
I never managed to switch the flow of the shower mixer from the shower to the faucet. Part of the wiring is open, in some places hanging wires. However, everything we needed was available: individual air conditioning, shower, toilet, safe and even a refrigerator, but it was all in a shabby condition. There is no TV, but that's not why we go to watch shows. There were many families with children during our stay. The room was periodically cleaned and towels changed, about twice every three days. Once there was a change of bed linen. The receptionist has one Russian-speaking woman in shift with one who does not speak Russian, but with whom you can communicate in English. Fairly friendly staff. Directly at the hotel booked a car for the entire stay. Hot water in the hotel on schedule - for a couple of hours from morning to afternoon and evening. I can’t say anything about entertainment, because the hotel only spent the night and had a snack.
The kitchen is poor in my opinion. I didn’t stay hungry, because I can fill my belly with bread : ), but our child ate badly there, and there wasn’t much to choose from. The village of Kavros, where the hotel is located, is small. Of the entertainment, a variety of cafes, restaurants, shops, a playground where you can take your children and go about your business were noticed. All this is concentrated parallel to the highway (loudly) for about two kilometers. Nearby attractions are the freshwater lake Kourna, where there is a beach, restaurants and rental of water catamarans, etc. A train goes there. The nearest more or less large city of Rethymnon is located 20 kilometers away.
