Hello everyone who is going to AKC MINOA PALACE in Crete! And we have just returned (20.07-27.07. 2014) We were in Crete, and in Greece for the first time, before that we rested in Turkey. The hotel is small, family, located 7 min. from the airport and 20 minutes (by bus number 7, stop near the hotel, fare 1.5 euros, tickets at the reception) to Heraklion.
We were met at the hotel by the staff very friendly and throughout the rest the staff was just great. all accessories in the bathroom). Cleaning and change of towels daily.
So:
BEACH - just a class, especially for those with children, and there were a lot of them, sand and a shallow long entry. There are enough sun loungers for everyone, no need to take up seats in the morning.
POOL - small, for children - 0.35 cm. Large -1.35 cm. Fresh water.
ANIMATION - all sorts of entertainment for children, on Wednesday - Greek evening (folklore arrives). Beach volleyball.
WI-FI is everywhere, even in the rooms and on the beach.

FOOD - not as diverse as in Turkey, but we, and I think the rest had enough.
Meat - chicken, turkey, lamb, pork.
Seafood - swordfish, crabs, squid (stuffed), mussels and oysters (in salads), salmon, anchovies.
Various salads (including Greek).
Side dishes - rice, potatoes, spaghetti, pasta, moussaka.
Fruits - watermelons, melons, kiwi, pineapple, nectarine, apples, orange, grapefruit, dates.
Sweet - cakes, cakes, cookies, muffins, crackers, lemon and orange candied fruits, peanuts, raisins, cherries, prunes.
Alcohol and drinks - alcohol (beer, crayfish, azu, white wine, red (local) - free of charge, cola drinks, fanta sprite, soda - free, cocktails - paid and all other alcohol.
We did not take excursions, but went on our own. To Heraklion by bus (every half an hour, schedule at the reception) (they took maps from the Internet and what interesting things you can see) visited the Palace of Knossos (before that, read the information on the Internet) (adults 6.00 ervo, for children under 18 free of charge) ( if you take an excursion, then 35.00 euros per person) (we went to the palace from the bus station by bus (1.5 euros). We walked along the pier, in the city center, went to the Museum of Nature (8.00 euros for adults, children-5 euro) (my son (13 years old) liked it, (especially the imitation of the green crack)). St. Catherine's Cathedral. We walked from Lviv Square (bought magnets and souvenirs). So decide for yourself whether you want to take a tour or not.

We rented a Toyota Yaris automatic car, I advise everyone if you want to travel around Crete, the winding mountain road (98.00 euros per day with full insurance (lights, mirrors, wheels, the bottom, everything that would be included) and a zero deductible !!!! ! !! (this is very important). . We drove around the ring from the hotel down south to Matala, Agia Galina (very beautiful city), Spili, Kourtaliot gorge (Super), Armeni, Rethymno, Kourna lake (very cool), Bali beach, Heraklion The road took with stops and swimming from 7.00 to 20.00). Do not break the rules of DD, if they want to overtake you, give them this opportunity and watch the locals, they know where the cameras are and when you can give speed and when not.
So enjoy sunny Crete!! !
