Like every hotel, it has its pros and cons. The advantages include: - good rooms (we had a room with a terrace and a side sea view), free sunbeds by the pools, an almost empty beach, change of towels by the pool at any time (you can even several times a day), friendly staff, the absence of daring drunk compatriots, the availability of a tea and coffee set in the room, good breakfasts (no freshly squeezed juices, but very varied). The disadvantages include: - the absolute lack of entertainment in the hotel (no water sports, no water slide, complete silence by the pools and on the beach, except for the screams of the kids, by 22.00 the hotel simply "dies out" - silence and darkness), very thin walls - after a couple of days you feel like a member of the family of people from the next room, because you are fully aware of their problems and know exactly their daily routine : ), very mediocre cleaning of the rooms, in August there is a constant strong wind and the sea is not very clean? Wi Fi paid.
It is better to take excursions and a car not in a hotel - it is much cheaper. We rented a car in Holiday cars - everything went fine and without problems, we drove to Rethymnon and along the coast. The roads are excellent, Rethymno is a very beautiful town! Greeks drive like crazy! We went to Heraklion on our own by bus - a one-way ticket - 1.10 euros. Bus number 1 and 6 - stop opposite, bus every 20 min. until late at night. Shopping is mediocre. But, there is an opportunity to buy excellent shoes - I was lucky to buy 2 pairs of leather over the knee boots for 40 euros (for those ladies who have problems finding shoes for a very wide or very narrow ankle - you will definitely find it! ). Husband bought leather moccasins of excellent quality. Souvenirs bought in Ammudar - a large selection. The oil was purchased cheaper than it was in duty free - 1 euro per liter, but nice. Store hours are specific - do not forget about the siesta! Unusual for us! We had a BB, dined in taverns. The cuisine is super, the prices are excellent - the average check for two is 40 euros (grill + seafood + salads, with alcohol and tips) We liked the cozy tavern entwined with greenery. with checkered tablecloths and a cute barker grandfather 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Please note that dinner usually stretches for 2 - 2.5 hours - the service is VERY slow everywhere. There are also many souvenir shops, bars and free WiFi on the other side. The overall impression is pleasant. We spent a lot of time outside the hotel. Oh yes, I completely forgot - some Russians complained that they were not understood - it would be very difficult without English. Everyone knows English there - from the hotel staff to passers-by on the street - they will answer all questions without any problems! I hope this review will come in handy for those who want to relax! Good luck!
