Malia Bay Hotel immediately captivated me with its location and surroundings. Right on the seafront, away from the noise of the city, there are only a few other small hotels and fields nearby. From Malia, 1.5-2 kilometers, along the way there are shops where almost everyone speaks Russian (many people who have moved from Russia and Ukraine). The area is quite picturesque - high mountains, palm trees, many flowers. The best thing in Crete is to rent a car and drive around, explore every corner of the island, it is very beautiful. The hotel was quiet (we rested in the tenth of May), there were still a few people, and, accordingly, not enough entertainment - gymnastics in the pool, games on the beach, photographers. A piece of the beach belongs to the hotel, but it is better not to swim there - a hard bottom, lava deposits, sea urchins. In order to swim, you can go about 200 meters to the east, and there will be a wonderful sandy cove. The hotel itself has three swimming pools, including for kids, during the day there is a bar by the pool. The food is very good, there is plenty to choose from, everything is fresh and tasty. If you are going on an excursion, you can order a lunch box in the restaurant the day before, pick it up in the morning. We were each given a huge sandwich, a couple of large apples, and water. The room is small, clean, we got a balcony on the corner, from which you can see both the road and the sea. The staff is very friendly, everyone is immediately remembered and called by name, quite nice. They always smile and generally contribute to a pleasant stay with their carelessness, despite all these crises.
