We went to Capsis from May 25 to June 1.2008. a small company through UTE Megapolus. I don’t know what people are writing about here - “there was no worse vacation, they didn’t hear a kind word... ” How can you not hear a kind word in Greece - it’s not clear at all! And the hotel is really royal! No wonder so much has been invested in it! But everything is in order.
My husband and I got a room on the second floor of the main building, room 1302. On our floor, all even rooms were about the same - our friends settled there, so we saw several rooms. The first thing we saw was, of course, the view from the large wide balcony! It's just a fairy tale! In the foreground is a cozy pool surrounded by flowering greenery, and further on is the bay of the blue Aegean Sea with numerous fishing boats. On the other side of the bay are mountains surrounded by greenery. The picture was so idyllic that, in principle, we didn’t need to look at anything else to understand where we were.
The room is spacious enough for two bedroom and bathroom. To be honest, in terms of accommodation, we are not very picky people, the position is this: a hotel room is for sleeping in it, and for this you only need a bed. However, this room has everything you need for life - in the bathroom: from shower gel to a miniature toothbrush and razor. The bathroom also has a telephone, a dryer for towels and linen, and everything else that is supposed to be in hotels of this level. In the room, we especially liked the huge vertical panel with soft backlighting. Such peripheral lighting creates an incredible coziness in the bedroom. In addition to the bed, the room has a flat-screen TV with several Russian channels. There is also a table with a built-in bar, a mirror, a table with 2 chairs, a decorative vase on a stand. Near the exit there are two cabinets, one of which contains a safe with instructions for use.

The hotel area is very large and very green - everywhere you can find decorative ponds with beautiful fish, turtles, lilies, waterfalls and cascades, small lakes, streams. Everywhere there are small, medium and large statues, pedestals, busts, sculptures. Every corner is decorated with something.
The hotel has three beaches. Two public, one in a closed area, where mere mortals are ordered to enter. One of the common beaches is pebbly. Everywhere there are wooden paths, so walking along the beach is convenient. Everyone treats pebble beaches differently - some like it, some don't. For the latter there is a second beach - sandy. It smoothly passes into the city beach of Agea Pelagia, so the entrance to this beach from the side of the hotel is closed by a gate at 6 pm. The beach employee warns vacationers in advance about the closure. If you didn’t have time or didn’t want to return to the hotel before 6, then you can go around the village (about 5 minutes on foot) and get to the hotel through the main entrance. On both beaches, sun loungers, towels, umbrellas are free of charge, there was enough of everything, and there were even empty places. On the pebbly beach there is a bar where you can not only drink, but also have a bite to eat if you don’t feel like returning to the hotel. There are also inflatable trampolines right in the sea, interconnected by an inflatable track and an inflatable slide. For the most part, oddly enough, they were far from being played by children! )) On both beaches you can rent anything - boats, skis, catamarans, etc. , according to rumors, there is even a yacht, but we did not find out the details.
The hotel has 7 swimming pools. All of them are of various shapes and depths. We had one favorite - he was next to our rooms. We didn't even have time to visit all of them in a week.
The hotel has 7 restaurants, but we did not have time to eat in all of them. In general, the hotel operates on a breakfast system, and for lunch and dinner you need to book a table.

We went to the Red Pepper restaurant in the main building for breakfast. Buffet: both light dishes - vegetables, greens, salads, fruits, cottage cheese, and hearty - eggs cooked in all possible ways, ham, meat, seafood. And a huge variety of desserts - just a feast for the sweet tooth! Three types of juices can be taken here. Tea and coffee are already served at the table.
Restaurant El Greco is located near the lobby. This is the most romantic restaurant. Live music plays here and a man sings incomparably - we even thought at first that this was a recording, and then, when we saw this uncle, we were shocked. Such a voice - just melt! The food here contributes to a romantic relaxed mood, especially delicate honey sweets for dessert.
The Safran restaurant is located in a closed area, but those who are booked for lunch or dinner are skipped. This is an outdoor restaurant on a mountain with a pool in the middle. The view from here is wonderful! From all sides the sea! The restaurant is considered Italian, the food here is especially hearty, the dishes are decorated in a special beautiful way. Very pleasant staff.
We also ate at the Poseidon tavern, which is located near the beach. The views there are also very beautiful. The restaurant is made in the Greek style. Here we did not like the chairs - hard and uncomfortable. But maybe it's for someone. It is said that Greek evenings are held here with music and dancing. I must say that the portions in the hotel, as well as throughout Greece, are simply unrealistically large! No wonder the food system flourishes here - breakfast or breakfast - dinner. So you overeat, which is enough for the whole day, this is provided that you do not sit still, but are constantly on the move, and logically, you should work up an appetite! That's for sure - they are fed for slaughter! On one of the excursions, the guide told us that the Greeks themselves eat the same amount, they have normal portions. In general, keep in mind - order one dish for two. Then - just right!

The hotel has a SPA center. Here you can go through a huge number of procedures, you can’t remember them all. We were in the pool, where underwater massage streams of water, jacuzzi and three cascading showers completely replace a professional massage therapist. Then we visited the sauna. In my opinion, the heat there was mediocre, it could have been hotter, but this is not for everyone. I think you can add some water if you want, but some of us were against it.
For kids, the hotel has an entertainment center called the "Minoan Fairy World". There were no children with us, so it is difficult to say personal impressions of him. But we were very surprised when we found out that they accept children from six months!! ! It also says that the center is open until 24:00. From a distance we saw how the employees of the center played with children of 4-5 years old. From the outside you can see that there is a small pool - a paddling pool, some tree houses, a structure resembling a labyrinth. It seemed that the children are not bored here.
There is a zoo near the Minoan Center. For the most part, birds are here, and of all stripes - important swans, a huge number of parrots of different sizes, colors and colors, we saw ostriches, pelicans. There are several monkeys. Animals and birds are not afraid of visitors, but rather come closer - apparently they are also interested. Oddly enough, the characteristic smell that happens in zoos is practically not felt. Only ostriches have something similar. ))
The staff at the hotel are very kind and helpful. A young man works at the reception, apparently from one of the CIS countries, well, he is so polite and pleasant - it makes me want to ask him something! ))) And in general, many hotel staff speak Russian, even the maids, passing by you, will always say hello "Good day! " Nice!

As for excursions, we went on two - to the cave of Zeus and to the Greek evening in Anopolis - a small village near Heraklion. Liked both. The first included not only a tour of the cave, where, according to legend, Zeus himself was born, but also an acquaintance with the activities of the "Union of Agrarian Agronomists", who grow and process olives and grapes, after the plant - a tour of the active monastery of the 14th century, in which 7 nuns now live , do not want to be photographed categorically. After the cave, we stopped at a souvenir shop at a ceramic factory. The second trip to the Greek evening, I think, will be remembered by everyone for a long time! I didn’t even suspect how incendiary dances the Greeks had! First there were dances interspersed with funny performances, then there was a performance of the Greek Gods lighting the Olympic flame - very spectacular! Then the dancers dragged onto the stage a crawl for the sirtaki folk dance. Even the children danced! The wine flowed like water, the people had fun and walked! After the end of the event, it was possible to buy photographs that were taken at the entrance with artists welcoming guests in folk costumes. On the way to the hotel, the driver turned on the very music that had been playing all evening - the whole bus began to sing along and clap! They didn’t start dancing just because there was a lot of wine drunk! In general, there are a lot of impressions!
We also rented cars (there are many rental points right next to the hotel) for independent trips around Crete. Rights, by the way, we do not have international, but the car was given anyway. One of the strongest shocks we had was connected precisely with the ride - firstly, of course, the roads! Flat, smooth! We saw how they are being repaired there - oh! We would like to learn! We drove towards Heraklion past the repair work at 12 o'clock - there was no traffic jam! Despite the narrow road and traffic in both directions. We drove back at 5 pm - 3 kilometers of the road was repaired, everything is smooth, smooth! A feast for the eyes! But that is not all. How people drive there! When a car drives slowly on a single-lane road, it presses as close as possible to the side of the road to let you through, and everyone does it! The rules are violated, of course, cruelly, but at the same time, such courtesy on the roads for our brother is simply amazing!
By car, we went to the water park and to Heraklion for shopping. I must say that it is worth going to Heraklion just to look at the city, it is better to buy in small shops near the hotel - there, oddly enough, there is more choice and prices are much lower.
Russians are especially loved here! We went to a tavern called "Poseidon" which is not far from the hotel. The waiter, having learned that we were Russians, poured our whole honest company (7 people! ) A glass of tequila 3 times! Here we took a cocktail called "Balalaika". One of the components was called the balalaika. )) They didn't tell us what it was, but the friend who drank it said it was delicious. And in general, wherever you go, you will hear everywhere - “yes, Russians are relatives for us”!

We have a problem with cigarettes. After 11 they are not sold at all anywhere, even in taverns - the law prohibits. Apparently, this is how they fight smoking, although the Greeks themselves will tar - be healthy! We also found a way out in one of the taverns, a waitress from Moldova worked there, she sold us a pack of cigarettes from her stocks. ) In general, for ours - here is paradise!
We were also pleased that the Greeks themselves eat and rest in the same taverns where tourists sit. This inspires confidence.
In general, I recommend Capsis to everyone as a first-class hotel, where you can really relax in full, disconnect from all worries and worries. Of course, rest here is not the cheapest, but we only live once! If you have any questions - write to the mail.
Those who write “it was terrible” or “I never advise anyone” would like to say the following.
With what mood a person flies to rest - such a rest awaits him. Already on the plane, you can understand whether a person likes a vacation or not. If you are flying just to relax, then you will like everything and only the brightest and most pleasant memories will remain! And if you fly to find fault with everything, walk and take pictures of anything and everything (and upon arrival, what a thrill to post everything on the Internet and cry !!! ) - naturally, only bad memories will remain.
And talking about Capsis like that doesn’t fit into any gates at all. Do not misinform people, dear!
How can you complain: "I ruined my vacation! " (usually they say this about a hotel, about a tour company or operator, or local residents... ) - I still can’t understand. Why would someone ruin my vacation! I've been waiting for it for six months! No one will stop me from enjoying my sea and sun.
In addition, we must remember that we are all people - even the guides who meet us at the airport, no matter how hard it is to believe. Everyone tends to make mistakes, get tired, not understand something. But with the same guides you can always agree, make friends. And this is very useful!
Many thanks to everyone who took part in organizing our trip - UTE for recommendations and advice, Capsis Hotel for such a chic vacation. Special thanks to! " all the staff of the hotel - such hospitable, pleasant people!
