Rested family 18 - 25.07. 2015. Tour operator and carrier - MOUZENIDIS TRAVEL.
New modern NEOPLAN VIP buses with air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, comfortable seats that slide back and forth, TV, music, free tea and coffee, water on the way. Travel time (24 hours) flew by unnoticed (see the first part of the video).
We subscribed to the daily mailing list of offers from the operator and took advantage of the “Hotel of the Day” promotion with a 40-50% discount. The promotion is valid from one or more hotels for 24 hours only.
The hotel is located on the first "finger" of Halkidiki - Kassandra, 80 km from Thessaloniki on the eastern coast of the peninsula.

The first line, a sandy beach, a huge green area on which there are three hotels of the same chain of G-Hotels hotels (Athos Palace 4 *, Pallini Beach 4 *, Theophano Imperial Palace 5 *).
Simple and affordable communication (buses, taxis) to Thessaloniki, and from there to any corner of Greece.
The tour plan was completed. Unfortunately, it did not include the famous Meteora-Delphi-Athens. Taking excursions to these places from Kassandra is at least not rational, costly and tiring. These and other places for Pieria hotels.
Excursions from Kassandra are Thessaloniki, Waterland water park, "Magik Park", various sea cruises (including St. Athos), fur coats to Kastoria, pilgrimages, etc.
HOTEL. ROOMS STANDARD.
You can use the infrastructure of any of the 3 hotels. The hotel attracts with a huge number of parking spaces for cars. According to the numbers of cars - here is the whole of Europe.
The building is of an old construction, large - there are 13 buttons in the elevator (residential floors - 10). The hotel has 4 elevators, but I must say that there were no problems with waiting. The higher the number, the shorter the waiting time for the elevator.
Standard rooms are small in size - rooms of 12-14 m2. The hotel is located parallel to the coastline - half of the rooms overlook the sea, the second half - the garden and the road.
The road passes near the hotel, but there is little noise from it. There are many trees between the hotel and the road.

Standard Sea View room - in the morning the sun shines directly into the windows of the room, but after 10-11 it goes to the back of the building and already “fries” the rooms overlooking the garden. The view from the room overlooking the garden spoils the roof of the reception and other outbuildings. Taking into account the fact that the air conditioning system is outdated (“dresser” in the corner of the room from which a warm wind blows), I advise you to take only Sea View rooms. For two days we lived not in the best "gaden", then, after waiting for a free room and paying extra 10 euros per day, we moved to a room with a sea view - there the air conditioner worked and a beautiful view of the sea and Sithonia (the second "finger"). The air conditioning system operates at the hotel from July 1 until September 1.
There was always a girl at the reception who spoke good Russian.
The room has an old TV, Russian programs. - Channel One and RTR Planet.
Only one room key is issued.
In a room with a sea view at night we turned off the air conditioner and opened the door. Slept comfortably. Mosquitoes were - 3 pieces?
Safe in the room is paid - 4 euros per week. Safe with key.
Check-in - after 14.00 (breakfast was not offered). Departure - until 11.30 (lunch and dinner are no longer allowed). Upon departure, they extended the stay until 18 pm for 40 euros with relocation to another room. Registration in the queue - after 19 hours the day before departure.
Did you have to "fight" for a room with a sea view and a late check-out?
FOOD, RESTAURANT.
There are All and HB. The ALL system (bracelets) includes free umbrellas and sunbeds on the beach in front of the Athos Palace Hotel, but the beach and the sea are worse than those of the Pallini Hotel.
On Pallini Beach - everything is paid for everything, but the beach is beautiful.
Knowing this circumstance, we took the HB system (without bracelets).
In short, the food at the hotel is very tasty, we were quite satisfied with it. Breakfast is even better than in Turkey. Lunch and dinner can be changed (conveniently). One card is issued per room, in which, at the entrance to the restaurant, the girl makes a note about the visit.
The number of dishes for lunch and dinner is always the same - 3 tables of 8 dishes each (appetizer table, side dish table, second course table) + one first course and a table of sweet and chopped fruits. At the sweet table, there is always a girl on hand (as a dumb reproach and a reminder to your conscience and belly that there is a lot of sweets - it's harmful). Needless to say, the system works. As a result, everyone benefits and there is practically no queue.

There is no particular variety of dishes, there are always two types of meat, wonderful preparation. There were practically no fish - fish sticks and once cuttlefish. Olives, as it may seem strange, did not “overeat”, although they really hoped. Only one type was offered for tasting - green and very salty.
Water with HB supply - from the tap and free of charge everywhere - in all bars and restaurants. Taking into account the fact that all Greeks drink tap water calmly, can this circumstance serve as a “liquid” justification for the hotel? Are we not used to this? There is a small market in the hotel on floor (-2). Water (1.5 liters) = 0.8 euros, beer (0.5) = 2 euros.
In the bars of the hotel - everything is 2 times more expensive, in Kalitea in the supermarket - two to three times cheaper.
Pallini's on-site fish tavern offers a large selection of fresh seafood. You can get a 25% discount at the reception.
In general, those who are in Greece for the first time will be able to properly appreciate the excessive frugality (stinginess) of Greek hoteliers.
SEA. BEACH of Athos and Pallini hotels.
The sea is Ionian. The beach is white sand of coarse fraction without pebbles. Even with small waves, the water remains perfectly transparent near the shore (not at all like in Turkey, Belek, for example). All beaches in Greece belong to the state, access to the beaches is free. Therefore, on weekends, the number of vacationers increases markedly.
The beach of the Athos hotel loses a lot to the beach of the Pallini hotel. At the first entrance to the sea - stone slabs, stones. Entrance-exit to the sea is dangerous, especially when the sea is rough. There are several "trodden" tracks. Vacationers are much less than on the beach of the Pallini hotel. All umbrellas and sun loungers are occupied, because for All it is free.

The rescue from the Athos beach is provided by the Pallini Hotel. The beach of the Pallini hotel is ideal, huge - 70 umbrellas long, 1-5 rows deep. For everyone for a fee. For the whole day - an umbrella + 1 deck chair = 5 euros, + 2 deck chairs = 7.5 euros, + 3 deck chairs = 10.5 euros. The distance between the umbrellas is large. The shadows of two adjacent umbrellas do not overlap. Umbrellas and sun loungers are new. Chaise lounges are aluminum and very light - the child can handle it. Vacationers between stationary umbrellas do not settle down, but occupy the first line by the sea with their umbrellas or under trees on the grass or even on trees (see video) or on broken, but free sun loungers by the pool of the Pallini Hotel. There is a choice for everyone.
Basically, the people "bunch" near the beach bar "Dolphin". Very pleasant and cozy place. Complete relaxation, even on a hot afternoon. Good music and drinks, but not prices ):
There are no buoys or lifeguards on the beach.
The sea is a delight! In July, unexpectedly warm, swimming - without time limits (even for "frosts"). The depth increases gradually. You sail away from the shore and... SILENCE... , only distant cries of children and splashes of waves are heard.
BEACH of Alexander The Great Beach Hotel.
It turned out to be very close - to the south (1 km) from the Pallini hotel. Along the coast 10-15 minutes at a calm pace. The bay and the beach are Blue Flag. By the way, in total, Kassandra has 7 Blue Flag beaches (4 on our coast and 3 on the west). The last few days of rest were already spent on this beach. Umbrellas and sun loungers are a little more expensive.
The coast is high, steep, a steep staircase and a funicular (only for its own) lead to the hotel. I thought there couldn't be a better beach than ours until I saw this one. And the water here is completely different, not only in transparency, in color, but also in density - some kind of denser, “oily”. Well, just a “paradise” place, no less.
Few people, well, right - VIP vacation!
TRANSPORT.
There are taxis and intercity comfortable buses.
Taxi fare (mainly "Mercedes") = approximately 1km = 1 euro. To the town of Kallithea (1.5 km) = 5 euros, to the town of Afytos (6.5 km) = 8 euros, to Thessaloniki (80 km) = 80 euros.
Bus stop right next to the hotel. The timetable (interval 1-2 hours) you will take at the reception in printed form. The bus system is as follows: first take the bus to the NUCLEAR station - the bus station K. T. E. L. Chalkidikis. Then transfer to the desired bus to the next junction station. Thus, you can get by bus to anywhere in Greece.

How to get to Thessaloniki: first to the junction, travel time = 1 hour, cost = 11.50 euros. Tickets are issued by the driver upon boarding. There were a lot of seats on the flight at 08-40, but keep in mind that they don’t take “standing” ones. Then transfer to bus number-45 (45A, 45B), which goes through the center of Thessaloniki. Travel time - 20-25 minutes, cost = 1.10 euros. Payment through the ticket machine on the bus (you need to stock up on change). If you bought a ticket in advance, there is a composter. The driver does not sell tickets. There are controllers on the route, the fine for traveling without a ticket = 50 euros. Exit - at the stop. "Aristotle's Square".
All stops are equipped with electronic scoreboards, which display the bus number and interval. Very informative. Aristotle's Square and Street is the center of Thessaloniki - near the market, shops, cafes and the promenade.
TOWNS NEAR THE HOTEL.
KALITEA - a party town, slot machines, shops, a small playground overlooking the sea, many cafes, taverns. Cheap shopping. General conclusion on prices in Greece: the price of food = the price of goods, clothes, souvenirs.
Kallithea from the hotel can be reached on foot (20-25 min. ) along the pedestrian sidewalk. Walk safely, illuminated at night.
AFITOS is a very beautiful town in typical Greek style - white stone houses. A long promenade with many cafes offers stunning views of the sea and neighboring Sithonia. The only way to get there is by taxi or bus.
CONCLUSIONS :
I really enjoyed my holidays in Greece. The hotel is a great option for the first time visiting the country. The sea and the beach compensate for all the inconveniences and shortcomings, if anyone has any.
We all arrived home with swollen legs, but after a couple of days we were ready to go to Greece again on the buses of the MOUZENIDIS TRAVEL tour operator.
Next time we will choose hotels in Pieria with an enhanced excursion program.
