!! ! 16 euros for 8 nights tourist tax. And there would have been an extra 5 euros per day for the pool. Cash only! I didn't read this in the contract and was simply stunned!!!

Pros: the hotel is clean, the rooms are clean, the bedding is crisp white, and the mattresses and pillows are new.

But: no mattress pad. And the sheet is right there on the mattress. I don't understand this approach from the owners: the mattresses get dirty quickly and it's unhygienic. A mattress pad can be washed, maybe not after every guest, but at least occasionally, but a mattress can't.

They put me alone in a triple room with a sea view (311)! And next to me, two girls in a triple room. Perhaps it's more free at the end of the season, which is why we were so lucky.

Let's start from the beginning: )

I was traveling, as always, with tourdream, "Podorozh u mriyu" (Travel to Dreams). The carrier was E-line. The drivers were so calm on the bus: no hysterics or threats, they calmly let everyone off at the border. The doors, of course, were all open. The air conditioning worked fine, even in the back. On other trips, they kept us on the bus at most, or only let us out to use the restroom, two people at a time, each way. On the way back, the drivers were really weird: they announced at 8:44 PM that they were "giving us twenty minutes to use the restroom, and we'll meet at 9:00 PM! " But they didn't open the front door, and the entire bus went through ONE door! So, half of those fifteen minutes was spent queuing to get off the bus. I asked why they weren't opening the front doors, and they said, "We keep our documents and personal belongings there. " Oh, and two women nearby were calm: "We'll still do our business calmly, no matter how long it takes. They'll wait. They won't leave without us. " But I'm not so sure.
And the air conditioning wasn't working properly, so the second half of the bus was really hot. (
IMPORTANT: If you have a temporary residence permit for a European country, you must present it along with your passport at the Romanian border; you don't need to provide fingerprints or a photo! Thanks to our driver for telling us this, and I was able to get my document. It cut down the time a bit. : )
On the bus, I met two pleasant Ukrainian women who were traveling to the same hotel. We checked in together. The rooms were clean. I was immediately offered a triple room with a sea view on the third floor with a spacious, shady terrace, but since my neighbors had expressed a desire to smoke a lot at reception, I asked through a translator for a room with a non-smoking balcony. The woman at reception spoke English. Unfortunately, I don't speak it. So I translated her request into Greek for a non-smoking room. I don't know if it's really a non-smoking floor, but they kindly showed me another room on the floor below, overlooking the pool and garden, with afternoon sun on the balcony. It was a tiny double room: just a double bed and narrow passageways on either side. And then there were the walls. I felt cramped there alone; I don't know how two people could live there for a week or more! I thanked her and decided to risk staying in the spacious room they had previously offered.

On the positive side: Wi-Fi coverage is good throughout the property, including in the room! On the negative side: the balcony is shared and has low partitions. "A hostel" where you can't walk around in your underwear and all the conversations are right next to you : ( Smoking, of course, is also a thing. At the end of my vacation, two elderly foreign families moved into the rooms next to each other. They didn't go to the sea, but sat on the balcony all day from early morning and talked as families through their partition. These four people never closed their mouths for a minute! So I was forced to listen to their conversations through my partition. And the music they turned on at a medium volume. It was impossible to hide from the constant conversations, smoke, and other people's uninvited music in the room anywhere, unless you live by the sea in the summer with a tightly closed balcony : ( Their cigarette smoke also wafted through my balcony into my room, since the sea breeze was blowing from the left. The Ukrainian women I met smoked less often and from the right. So their smoke reached me less often, but it still blew in sometimes : ( A shared balcony with low partitions is the worst thing you can have on vacation : (
Dinner was: baked meat, potatoes, and asparagus. The lovely chef puts out a generous portion. He also gives you extras without any problem, if you need them. We make our own salads. I drizzled some oil on it – it's clear and tasteless. So, refined, not salad-grade. I hope it's olive oil. I assume sunflower seeds are more expensive here than olives. That's all we can hope for. NO olives for the salads??? ? Feta too: ( And here's a Greek salad for you: (
Drinks: chilled water. Wine is on the price list: 2.50 euros a glass.
Fruit: firm, hairless peaches. Edible.
Every day, for dessert, there was either fruit or some kind of custard cream or jelly. So, you can't get enough fruit in the middle of summer. There was melon sometimes – greenish in color, but sweet and juicy. But when the melon ran out, they put in Napoleon cream.
Breakfast includes several types of cereal, milk, jam, honey, Nutella-type spreads, delicious, full-fat Greek yogurt similar to sour cream, boiled eggs, sausage, ham, and tomatoes. Sliced oranges are also available. There's a drinks vending machine for breakfast. The juice is UPi-type, and the coffee is disgusting. I don't know if they make decent coffee for a fee. If you care, bring your own electric moka pot and ground coffee, like the kind you're used to. The vending machine also offers other drinks for breakfast, like cocoa cappuccino. Black and chamomile tea bags are also available. At dinner and breakfast, everyone reports that everything is gone. Food is freely available. Glassware is used (not melamine, like in Sunshine World and Sharm Plaza). No lines. A charming, sweet, small hotel.
The pool was closed during my stay. Anyone who wanted to would have to go to Cassandra Bay Village, which would have been a hassle if they wanted a pool.
The area is quiet.

It's a short walk to the sea. The climb up isn't difficult either, as there are no steps, but a gentle slope. The walk takes up to 10 minutes. Cons: walking along a road where cars fly out from around the bend. (Dangerous! The sea is closer than it looks from the room balcony. It smells of the sea. ) There are sandy beaches, but there are also quite a few rocks. Sithonia is visible on the opposite shore. The sea is warm. The beach is shady – great in the heat, but not so much for those who like to sunbathe late at night. On some days, the music from the Aktaion bar was quite loud : (, but in the sea. It was inaudible on the shore.
I used the plastic restroom on the beach. It was clean, smelled nice, and had water, soap, and toilet paper! I was pleasantly impressed!
Kassandra Village is almost halfway to the sea. There's no steepest section up.
Overall, it was a good vacation, but the locals here are unfriendly : (, both in the hotel and in the shops. The Greeks on Crete were much friendlier!
The room's downsides include a VERY cramped shower stall with a sliding curtain that makes a loud noise when pulled open. This means if one person is sleeping and the other takes a shower, it will wake the other. And in many rooms, the toilets, after flushing, fill with the sound of a jet plane: a whooshing sound that can be deafening if you stand next to it! You can hear the whistling in other rooms, even in neighboring rooms. In my room and my neighbors', the shower head holder didn't fit, so the shower wouldn't stay in place and kept falling over. My neighbor couldn't wash her hair because she was used to standing under the shower with both hands. I'm also used to standing under the shower, not holding it with one hand and letting the water run, so I tried hanging the shower head. But it kept falling over and could break the enamel of the shower tray and/or the shower head itself. I wrote a note in English through a translator asking someone to secure the shower head so it wouldn't break, and left it at reception (no one's ever there), but it didn't work.

There are a lot of steps outside before and after reception, not to mention the stairs leading up to the floor. And there are no concrete ramps outside for a suitcase or a stroller. This is a VERY big oversight.
They take you to the beach by car. I used it a couple of times. BUT once I arrived from the beach at 3:56 PM, and they had already left : ( Even though check-out from the hotel is at 4:00 PM, and they pick you up at the beach downstairs at about 4:05 PM.
