As promised, I chose the time to write a review about a trip to Kastoria on a fur coat tour from the Potidea Palace hotel with the tour operator MOUZENIDIS TRAVEL (Mouzenidis Travel).
We rested at the hotel from June 25 to July 7.2010. Since, in addition to the rest, the purchase of a fur coat was planned in advance, we decided not to delay the trip to the “fur coat kingdom”. We paid for the trip from the girls - representatives of MOUZENIDIS, and on July 28, in anticipation of the purchase, I hit the road. A comfortable minibus "Mercedes" for 7 passengers left the hotel at about seven or eight in the morning, the bus was served on time. The road to one end 2 - 2.5 hours flies by unnoticed. Firstly, because, as I said, the bus is very comfortable, secondly, since everyone has the same purpose of the trip, only with different options, you quickly find a common language with fellow travelers, and thirdly, the landscapes outside the window. I regretted not taking my camera with me. Outside the window there are such views ...And the mountains, and the gorges and tunnels in the mountains along which we drove.
Beauties! ! ! We almost forgot why we were going (just kidding). The driver Vladimir returned to reality. He was both a driver and a guide for us, and a lot of help on our trip.

His help on this trip was indispensable. I think that he played a significant role in the fact that none of us was left without a purchase. It seems that he knows about fur coats, if not everything, then very, very much. I thank him very much for his help.
While driving to Kastoria, I turned on a mini-film about how skins bought by furriers are processed and how finished products are then sewn from them. Everyone could see on the monitors built into the backs of the front seats. This came in handy later on. Explained how to identify quality fur. Answered a bunch of our questions. He asked who wants to buy what product in order to navigate the route and shops. I found out if there were any wishes to visit a particular store. Wishes were, and we stopped by there.
I don’t even dare to remember how many shops we visited, take my word for it – there were a lot of them. There were small ones with relatively small halls, and bigger ones, and quite huge ones (2.3 storey) stuffed from top to bottom with all sorts of fur varieties. Visited and not widely known brands and those that are on everyone's lips. I don’t specifically quote any names so that they don’t accuse me of advertising.
The bottom line is that the choice is huge for every taste and budget. In stores, models from "economy" to "exclusive". No one was left without a purchase. Among the "applicants" for the purchase of a fur coat (short coat, etc. ) were two very young girls, two women in their 30s and two older women. All of the "applicants" by the end of the trip moved to the rank of "happy owners". One of us became a happy owner twice, as she bought both a long brown mink coat and a white cross coat of a very unusual style.

It seems to be a straight cut, but a little flared, sleeves with frilled folds, but they fit tightly enough to the arm so that the wind does not walk there (after all, a fur coat is bought for warmth). In general, only having been in Kastoria, one can understand what Greece is famous for in terms of “fur coats”. Firstly - quality, secondly - a myriad variety of styles. Whoever looks after a fur coat (or short fur coat) will find both “classic”, and “avant-garde”, and something in between, but certainly not like everything else. I judge by myself: I looked after a classic fur coat, a little over the knee, from a brown mink. As a result, I bought a long, mid-calf, sheared iceberg-colored mink, of an unusual style, with a stand-up collar (sable).
A small example that allows you to judge the quality of products.
Absolutely all the sellers in the shops they visited confirmed the quality of the goods they were selling by lifting the lining of the products themselves, showing the quality of dressing the skins, pinching the fur from the front side, showing that it did not “climb” and crumpling and folding the products in every possible way so that it was clear that the unfolded product retains its original appearance.
In conclusion about our trip to Kastoria, I want to smile a little. When the next day we, the "happy owners", approached the girls - representatives of "Mouzenidis" in the hotel to thank for the perfectly organized trip, someone asked, how can we save such a purchase until the end of the holiday, is it really in a safe? To which the answer was: “What are you, hung in the closet in the room and you don’t have to worry, we are strict with this. ”
It was said in such a way that even the biggest skeptics of us hung our purchases in the closet and no one had a shadow of doubt about the safety of the vacation purchased before the end.

Good luck to everyone who wants to visit Kastoria in our footsteps.

Good luck with your shopping, good mood and snowy winter!

Natalia.
