Hello everyone! I want to write about a new trip to Greece. This time I stopped in the resort village of Paliouri, which is considered a very quiet and calm village on Kassandra. And July, as everyone knows, is the peak of the summer and tourist season, so my family and I wanted to fully relax, but not be at the epicenter of numerous tourist flows. And Paliouri turned out to be exactly the right place for our serene vacation (there are quite a lot of tourists here, but there is no feeling of crowds, there is a place for everyone). The village is located at a height of one hundred to twenty meters, in the very south of Kassandra, and it is surrounded by beautiful and fragrant pine groves, in the shade and smells of which it was so pleasant for us to take morning and evening walks. The distance to Thessaloniki is 125 km, and we went to this extraordinary city, it has a special atmosphere, and I always want to return there.

I wrote that I am fond of art history, so a new place always interests me from this side. Paliouri has very interesting folk architecture of the nineteenth century. Each such house can be viewed and admired by the details of masonry and roofs. We got into a conversation with a local woman and she invited me to come inside and treated me to coffee and kouluri (crispy homemade pastries). It was great, I could see the life and the interior, in which the interior details preserved the special charm of traditional Greek culture, which was also inherent in the inhabitant of the house.

My family and I stayed at the Chrousso Village Hotel. A good hotel, well suited for a family holiday, here they skillfully create a feeling of home comfort. The whole area with three-story buildings with rooms is literally immersed in the greenery of pines, palms and cypresses. The rooms are spacious and bright, we chose the two-room Family Room (45 sqm) overlooking the wonderful garden. Breakfast with a selection of fresh yoghurts, fruits and cheeses and pastries. There is also a barbecue with live Greek music, from which the feeling of Greek home comfort is enhanced at times.

After mentioning barbecue, I want to write more about food. The AKRITAS restaurant cannot but amaze the imagination. Here are secret traditional recipes that are passed down from generation to generation, an ancient cooking technique, “tandoori” - comes from the name of a special oven that is underground, and in it food is cooked slowly, while maintaining its natural properties. One of the restaurant's specialties is tandoori lamb. It also has its own wine cellar, where about 120 wineries from all over Greece store and replenish stocks. We tried red dry wine from Naoussa wineries, with a very rich taste. Dinner for three cost us 70 euros (meat dishes, salads and snacks). We also liked the food, service and style at the Kappa restaurant, by the way, it works as a bar-restaurant and from the very morning (open at 8 o’clock), there is a large selection of coffee, cocktails, and a wine list. We learned that the chef has 25 years of experience in famous restaurants in Germany, Switzerland and Greece, where he popularized Greek cuisine and this, of course, affects the level of service of the establishment. We tried excellent shrimps and mussels.

I've always loved coffee, but here in Greece it's just a cult, they drink it cold (many types of cooking) and almost around the clock. And with coffee you want something tasty for breakfast or a snack after swimming.

And just for this, there is a bakery and confectionery of two brothers "Lemonis", who, right here, in Paliouri, in the father's bakery, realized that this was their vocation, and very successfully began to continue the family business, opening a network of parries throughout the territory Chalkidiki. And well done, because they have very tasty buns, pies with fillings (tiropites, spanakopity) and desserts, everything is always fresh and not expensive (for three of us, a snack usually cost up to 10 euros).

I love swimming, so we visited various beaches and beach bars such as: Lefki Ammos Beach Bar, Navagos Beach Bar, Xenia Golden Beach. Everywhere during the day you can order coffee or juice, and in the evening cocktails and listen to music and a DJ performance. Husband and son prefer a more active marine pastime, so they attended the TRITON Diving School, and then shared such impressions with me that I also decided to try and signed up for the first lesson. I'll write more soon when I surface. Have a nice summer everyone!
