The hotel itself is good. Even in the second line. All rooms have windows on the courtyard (however, on the first floor, which is honestly referred to as "-1" in the elevator, as it is partially below ground level, there are a couple of rooms under the stairs with a view mainly on this very staircase).


Based on reviews from other sites, we immediately booked a room on the upper floors. I had to pay extra for this (I don’t remember exactly how much), but when we arrived at the place, we realized that we were not mistaken. There is a very decent swimming pool in the yard, you can officially use it from 8:30 to 19:00, in reality, no one limits it in the morning - we came at 7 in the morning to rinse ourselves before breakfast. From 19:00 - pool cleaning until 22:00, then, in principle, you can swim again. The child went to bathe before dinner.
For small ones - a pen with a depth of half a meter, in the rest - a depth of 1.6 to 2.9 meters.
Number - Double + 1 (there are two of us and a child). The only and 5 hotels in which the aftermath was not filled (though clean linen was folded under the bedspread), and there was not even a bedspread on the child's bed! We had to lay ourselves. The staff at the Reception does not speak Russian (or diligently pretends to). Learn English.

Air conditioning as air conditioning only works in July-August. In other months - as a fan. It doesn't help much. But since the sun in the room is only in the morning, then, in general, it was tolerable (with the windows constantly open).
Windows - not double-glazed windows, wooden. Therefore, when the hotel has a "Greek evening", you can hear it well. It can be a little tiresome (although my nine-year-old child liked it. I sat on the balcony and applauded). In any case, they finish at midnight.

Refrigerator - for a fee (3 euros per day). This, however, is written on their website.

Paid and received the key. You have to turn it on yourself. I plugged it into the outlet, looked for a cold regulator, but did not find it. Put on the water and went for a walk. After a couple of hours they returned, climbed into the refrigerator - the water is warm. Went to Reception. They sent an employee. By the time he returned to his room, the worker was already there. He threw up his hands and said that everything was working. I said the water is warm. And he again - everything works (the dialogue went on in Argnli, he didn’t understand the type in Russian). I ask my wife - did he do something? No, he says, he looked into the refrigerator, said that everything is OK, and that's it. Went with him to the reception. There it turned out that there was a regulator, only it was in the back of the refrigerator and it had to be turned on, which he did. I ask, what did you not say before? I don’t understand, he says ...(by the way, during my departure, he spoke with some tourists from Russia, partly in English, partly in Russian).

A bathroom with a bathtub, but the local staff is not familiar with the means for cleaning plumbing.
All in a long time uncleaned limescale. Shampoo was one small, and already half empty! a bottle left, obviously, from a previous guest. Soaps - also one bar (albeit sealed), as well as one shower cap and three (! ) packs of shoe polish. Went to Reception. They promised to bring tomorrow, while cleaning the room. OK. The next day, returning at noon from the beach, found that soap and shampoo had not been added. Went to Reception. They promised to send Half an hour later, an obviously Russian maid (slightly older than middle age) came and, with a very displeased look, put shampoo and soap in, muttered something and left.

Cleaned up the room. All at once in this hotel do not know how. Either the floor will be washed, or the bed will be cleaned, or the shampoo will be renewed, or the towels will be changed. Again, the only hotel in which the bedspread, carelessly thrown by us on the bed (to sit down), was not remade - it lay there. 4+ damn...
The food is varied, the menu is repeated for every 4 days. There were fruits - watermelons, melons, plums, oranges, apples. They cook delicious. Ate with pleasure. For dessert - several varieties of ice cream. But then again - the only hotel in my life where water is for dinner! was just for the money. I understand - juice, wine, cola, vodka. But water? In a 4+ hotel? 2 euros per liter, like from a bush (in a supermarket - 60 cents. As a result, they bought a package of 6 liter bottles of water for 1.50 euros in a store. And they quenched their thirst at dinner by eating watermelons.

When they told the girl from Olga Tours about the problems with the hotel, she replied that they could not do anything, and offered to write a written complaint (while adding something like "well, yes, we know, this hotel has already been complained about ... " ). Apparently, they have nothing to complain about with this hotel.


The departure was at night, and the room must be rented at 12:00.
Options - pre-book a room for a day more (even when buying a tour) or try to extend it on the spot (until 18:30 for 30 euros), if possible. We didn’t succeed, but as a result, it turned out well - on the day of departure, in the morning, we went swimming in the sea, then washed ourselves and checked in at 12, went for a walk
Since the hotel is in the second line, you have to go to the beach either through the territory of your own hotel (no one objects), or bypassing it. Walk - about a hundred and fifty meters. The problem is the beach itself - it is coarse sand / small pebbles, but there are large boulders in the water, under which there can be sea urchins. There are narrow passages between the boulders. Until 10 a. m. and after 8 p. m. , it doesn’t bother you, but the rest of the time, vacationers stand in these passages and chat with each other, so you have to squeeze into the water between them.

However, if you go around the neighboring hotel not on the left, but on the right, go to the park. In front of him the beach is fine sand, and the bottom is free of boulders.
Walk as much - one and a half meters. In general, in the morning we went around the hotel on the left and went to the passage into the sea, and in the evening - on the right and went to the city beach.
Umbrellas and sun loungers are paid (7 euros per day), for hotel guests like a discount (price 5 euros), but it’s cheaper to buy a couple of straw bedding for 1.5 euros and an umbrella for 7 in the village, and you can just throw it away before leaving. Well, or take it with you as a souvenir : ).


The village is large, there are many hotels, respectively, vacationers - too. On the first evening it seemed that it was even too noisy and tiring. However, it turned out to be just right. And there is where to walk along the streets, and go shopping, and sit in a tavern. In general, if you are not limited to one central square, then everything is fine. We decided that in a small village (like the one in which Philippion Beach) it would be completely boring.
Lunch in the afternoon went to local taverns.
I recommend avoiding those located on the central square (although this is my personal opinion).

We liked two - "Dionisis" near Hanioti Palace (walk 50 meters along the street parallel to the beach, turn left and walk the same amount - don't miss) and "Garden" - you have to go along the street along the city park to the stone dolphin, then turn right and walk 50 meters, looking to the left (the church will remain on the right). Garden has an interesting feature - when we were there for the first time, there were standard portions. when we got there the next day, the portions were bigger (at the same price). The next day - again large portions. Then we missed a couple of days, and when we came again, we again had the same standard portion as the first time. And in Dionisis, the most common phrases (such as "Good evening", "Thank you", etc. ) are printed on napkins in Greek (in English transcription) and their translation into English.
I recommend learning - the Greeks like it. At least when we bought baked corn on the street (by the way, it’s delicious, although a little expensive - 2 euros; however, I believe that it’s cheaper for the locals), they handed it to us with a lean look, without saying a word. When the child held out 2 euros, while saying "Thank you" in Greek - you should have seen the face of this Greek. He remembered all the words in Russian and English that he only knew, and he was unstoppable for about 5 minutes.

Greek cuisine is delicious. My child swept away everything (although the portions there are twice as large as our usual restaurant ones). I recommend moussaka. In the taverns mentioned - very tasty (although they cook differently everywhere, during excursions in the taverns where we were taken for lunch, there were both very tasty and very mediocre. However, this applies to any food - two identical dishes I I haven't tried it in Greece.

Guidebooks and guides recommend leaving to eat away from the gatherings of tourists and choosing taerns, where Greeks mostly sit). Salads are good too. I got hooked on Greek (don't be surprised - Greek salad in Greece (in Greek it is called "village", by the way) and in Russia - two big differences (on arrival I took it here for comparison in the place where it was given to me, in general - in some taverns under the guise of "village" they serve "peasant" - the ingredients are almost the same, but there are no olives (sometimes they throw one or two), less feta (it is generally not allowed in the peasant) and instead of pepper - boiled eggs. I liked the peasant one less.

Returning to Olga Tours. The girl (Lena) was seen at the hotel one and a half times. I didn't even show up at the scheduled time the day before I left. There are no buses of our own (unlike Vilar Tours, with which we traveled the first week).
Therefore, the departure to the airport was crazy - for 27 people they first drove two minivans (with a delay of 20 minutes from the appointed time) and said "get in who has few things. " Since everyone has a lot of things, no one really climbed. The drivers started shouting that they wanted to give a damn about everyone (the driver is Russian, by the way) and they won’t force anyone, but they’ll leave everyone here and leave. In the end, they planted 3 people with things. After some time they told the rest - go to the big bus. He stood about a hundred and fifty meters, and had to drag things to him (because he could not drive up to the hotel).

At the airport, the girl Lena promised to wait until all the passengers pass through passport control (and these are three flights to St. Petersburg in a row), and for some time she really was there, but by the time we checked in, she was gone.
In general, a good hotel spoiled by bad service, and as a result the overall impression is that we will not stay in it again.
