Hotel holidays in Crete, a trip to Santorini and a trip to the factory for a fur coat
I was with my husband at the palmera beach 3 * hotel in Hersonissos from 09/06-09/15/13. Meals -4, room cleaning -4, location to the sea -5, quiet location -2. The tour was ordered at the end of July from the pegas tour operator, since this is not the first trip from them, they took it without a doubt. Last year we were also in Hersonissos, but at the dimitrion3 * hotel.
Our arrival in Heraklion was very early, at 7 am we were already at the reception desk at the hotel. No one initially expected that we would be settled so early, but we were told that all the rooms in the hotel were booked and we were offered to check into another hotel. It was located through 2 houses, rooms overlooking the sea, but the furniture itself and rooms with bathrooms clearly did not pull on 3 *, it was decided to seek "our" (our hotel). After long proceedings at the reception, we were told that there were no rooms and that's it. We took our individual guide's mobile phone and had to wake up Oksana at 7 am. After explaining the whole situation, we were told that unfortunately this happens and she can’t help, to my question “does it mean that my husband and I are literally staying on the street? ”, We were given a specific answer “yes”. The girl at the reception (moreover, in a position, and it was clearly impossible to quarrel with her in order to preserve the health of her unborn baby, apparently they put her on the morning shifts specially), seeing that we were determined, nevertheless, after repeated negotiations, we found 20 € after 4 hours room. The room is good standard, the room has air conditioning, furniture is normal for 3 *, a good bathroom. Everything is fine, but there was one big BUT, the room overlooked the road with a small balcony, that's the thing. But we realized later...... In the room it was unsuccessful, as it turned out, the air conditioner hangs, when you turn it on, cold air blows straight into the head, from - why we didn’t want to be absolutely sick in the future and at night we had to open the window, and here BUT !!!!!! ! The room overlooked a small path between the houses, which turned out to be a driveway and cars, mopeds drove along it, as well as young people returning from discos in the morning, and all this is accompanied by a terrible roar, laughter, etc......
The hotel has a restaurant on the street, which provides a 10% discount for guests. I highly recommend it. The prices are the same as everywhere else, but the food is better. We tried many dishes and all were 5. The only thing we do not recommend is the bar at the hotel, in my opinion they pour swill instead of whiskey.
Sanatoriums: they took for 140 € per person from a hotel guide. Santorini can be reached in 2 hours and 40 minutes on a large sky jet boat, which in turn is very comfortable. People, I recommend everyone to visit Santorini, but taking a 1-day excursion like us is blasphemous. A very beautiful island with its own history, but "everyone galloping around Europe", we were in Oia, the most picturesque place on the island, where we were given 1.5 hours of free time. During this time, it turned out to be impossible to take a walk, as we were originally promised, there is not enough time for everything! Then we were taken to Fira, the capital of the island, the same trouble with time, they didn’t even go further than 50 meters from the place where we were then collected. The heat on the island is unbearable! Be sure to take hats and use sunscreen, my husband and I burned out for this train. Then we were taken to the southern part of the island for a swim on the black sand beach and lunch. You can’t tell a lot of things, but I would recommend going there once for a week on vacation in order to have time to see everything. The only thing is that everything is more expensive there than in Crete.
And most importantly - buying a fur coat!
This is a separate story, which I dealt with quite closely after booking the tour. Dear Alex66, thank you very much for the detailed story, it was he who pushed me to all my further actions. I booked a flight from Crete to Thessaloniki, rented a car, booked a hotel (and didn’t bathe, I booked Limneon). And at night from 11.09 to 12.09 we were in place. Since it was initially decided to visit only one MOUSIOS fur salon, at 09.30 we were on its doorstep. The doors were closed (which I was initially horrified of, because, accordingly, no one had warned anyone in advance), but after the call we were met by a girl and a young man. I don’t know with what guts I recognized the girl, but it turned out to be Margarita and one of the brothers-owners - Lazaris (I saw a photo of him on the above mentioned story by Alex66). It turns out that they didn’t expect anyone so early and offered us coffee to drink with them, it killed right away - we somehow weren’t used to such courtesy, savages, so to speak)))))) Initially, I wanted a lady with a hood, her- then I purchased it. After Lazaris found out where we were from and the whole story, he immediately gave us a good discount, we didn’t even bargain))))) and the fur coat is a sweet girl, I have never seen or touched such skins, really it’s all velor like as if, hair to hair, all in one color, no overflows and shades, it will not find a skin between the undercoat, it is so dense. The hem, by the way, was open and you can see the fur coat from the inside. In general, people, I highly recommend this factory, it really answers in all respects from quality to service.
