Nissaki Beach Hotel 4*/Category A, Kerkyra (Corfu), Greece, August 24-30.2008
AKHTUNG: the locals say Kerkyra, they even take offense at Kerkyr J And Corfu - that's what European barbarians generally say, not polite Russo tourists!
Flew from Capital Tours, hosted by Fenix. We took All Inclusive, which justified itself. A week for two cost 82 tr.
Flight options for other operators were understandable to Transaero, while Capital offered only the not very understandable Yamal Airlines. I immediately indicate that everything is on the level in Yamal - the Boeing 737 itself, and the catering, and service. Departure, however, almost at night (4:40), from Domodedovo, arrived at the hotel by 9 am local. The rooms were not ready until 13:00, but we were given All Inclusive bracelets and we went for breakfast, and then to the beach. Take everything with you and do not put deep into your suitcase what you need for the beach - and there is no problem to flip over for 4 hours.

The hotel was built in the 70s - 80s, in architecture it is very similar to the Crimean or Sochi trade union health resorts of the Soviet period (see photo) - architecture does not distract from natural beauties J
The room is acceptable, without luxury - but without obvious signs of destruction, the plumbing is new, everything works. The TV is old, the satellite takes 3 German channels, 2 Belgian, 2 Greek, 1 Czech, BBC and RTR-planet.
The air conditioner works normally, turns on when a key card is inserted into the slot. When the balcony door is open, it turns off automatically. At night, there is a choice - to sleep under the air conditioner or open the balcony and wait for the coolness of the night (comes at 4 in the morning). AHTUNG: who needs to charge a mobile phone or a laptop - an option only at night with a closed balcony (working air conditioning), or sit in a room and wait J
The maids and other staff are efficient and friendly. The Russian language practically "does not work" - only if the waitress turns out to be from the former Yugoslavia (such come across). The composition of the audience is approximately equal to our compatriots, British, Germans, Belgians and Italians. The audience is mostly family, with children - very even and calm. Is that the Italian kids communicate at the level of screaming, but still very fun and cute. I read in other reviews the indignation of the zealots of morality at the total topless European ladies - I hasten to reassure you, there is nothing like that here, everything is very chaste J
The tennis court is included in All Inclusive. The cover is concrete. Rackets give decent ones, but balls are deflated, and there are not enough of those! Take more with you, because the fence around the court is rather low, the balls fly away into the terrible thorny thickets and disappear.
The hotel is located in a very picturesque place, where two mountains part slightly from the sea.
Sea views are luxurious (see photo). Pebbles on the beach, no matter what they write in brochures (see photo). Swimming without rubber slippers is unrealistic. They cost 12 euros on the spot.

The sea is calm and clean - cleaner than in the cleanest places in Turkey, because there is no strong excitement that mud can bring - and in general, the human load per linear meter of the coast is many times less.
Inventory on the beach (sunbeds and umbrellas - see photo) are marked as paid, but we were not able to see the moment when payments were received from vacationers. On the beach, in fact, sunbathing is not easy - the effect of a frying pan. Most of the guests take places on the platform above the beach and near the pool. Here you need to try - for example, get up at 8 in the morning and take the right places with your towels. A beach towel can be obtained from the desk on the beach in exchange for a card, which is issued against a deposit of 10 euros at the reception.
The pool is small "above" the beach, the water in it is fresh, suspiciously cloudy (either hard, or terribly chlorinated). I do not advise.
Near the hotel on the "common" beach there are various water activities - paragliding, banana, boats, pedal boats, kayaks. Prices are modest, lower than in Antalya. For example, for 10 euros we took a water bike for an hour and swam along the coast - very picturesque places, grottoes, coves, you can take pictures from the sea. Many swim in masks, but the bottom is rather monotonous - a stone overgrown with algae, a lot of fish, but it does not differ in variety.
All Inclusive meals consist of:
1) breakfast in the hotel restaurant - modest, but good. You can get a table on the open veranda, but AHTUNG: OSES !!!!! ! if you have a suspicion of an allergy to a bite, it’s better not to go here at all !! ! Second AHTUNG: coffee in the hotel is always and everywhere of VERY modest quality. Coffee lovers don't come here. Tea, however, is also no....For breakfast and lunch they give "juice" from dried chemicals - it is CONTRAINDICATED for allergy sufferers and people with gastritis - I affirm as a certified allergist. I recommend: Greek (! ) salad, scrambled eggs in all forms, croissants.

2) Lunch - only on the beach, buffet. They bring drinks, of which I considered draft beer to be the best choice - it is good. What is difficult for children L Choice of dishes - vegetables number 4 - we make a salad ourselves; two meats (pig and/or beef/chicken), one fish, roasted vegetable. I do not recommend potatoes in any form - all frozen. Rice doesn't work either. Meat, fish, pasta, eggplant are good. AKHTUNG is the same - OSES EVERYWHERE !!!
3) In between, there is a bar on the beach - they are always ready to serve drinks. In addition to beer, I calmly perceived only drinking water in bottles and all sorts of cola sprites. The coffee is terrible, the tea is weak, the juices are chemical. It is interesting and strange that they do not give mineral water with gas. Food in the same bar on the beach is prepared at the request of the client, but all of it is somehow dubious - hot dogs, hamburgers, french fries from freezing... ice cream in balls only for children (!!! ). In general, if you are late for lunch, in my opinion, only Greek salad is safe for health.
4) Dinner - in the hotel restaurant - is quite up to par. Certainly not Turkish 5 star gastronomic mayhem, but there is a good selection and good quality. Drinks are brought by waiters, the choice for All Inclusive is the same. Homemade red wine is the lesser evil. Proper bottled wine - for some money. As always, wasps get out on the veranda, but closer to the night, they probably fly away to sleep.
Fruit is the weak point of the whole menu. Only plums are confidently present, the rest is weakly and badly expressed - this is sad in view of the season.
Who wants to take a walk or dine outside the hotel, just a bummer. To get on the track, you need to take a kilometer rise of 30 degrees with a serpentine. And this track is over a cliff and at least 6 meters wide, so walking along it somewhere is an occupation for the brave. It is realistic to go only by bus to the city of Kerkyra (once a day from the hotel) or on excursions.
The general conclusion is that the money was not spent in vain, everything corresponds to expectations. Who needs a quiet and non-fussy vacation for small money in the high season, who is not confused by high class service and food and puts the sea, sun and air above all else - come to this hotel with the funny name Nissaki Beach.
