I want to share my impressions of my wonderful trip to the island of Corfu - a place where from the first minute I felt calm and peaceful.
Local guides helped me a lot to understand and feel the atmosphere of the island, get to know the habits and customs of the locals better, delve into the history. I want to talk about this in more detail, because I think that sightseeing trips are an important point for any traveler.
So, I bought a ticket from Biblio Globus, where they immediately told me that the Canulas Travel company would accept me on the island, from the work of which I was completely delighted. Everything - from meeting at the airport to organizing a return transfer - is at the highest level, but as I said, in this story I want to focus on sightseeing tours.
Before the trip, of course, I looked for information about the sights of Corfu on the Internet, but my hotel guide, Violetta, helped me finally decide on the excursions at the welcome meeting, for which special thanks to her. As a result, I signed up for a sightseeing tour of the island, a tour of Meteora, a tour of the capital of the island and a pilgrimage tour of the holy places of Corfu. And now more about each of them.
I advise absolutely all tourists to take a sightseeing tour of the island. To visit a beautiful island and repeat the standard route room-restaurant-beach/pool hotel-room-restaurant every day is unthinkable! Do not deprive yourself of the pleasure of seeing the most beautiful area of Paleokastritsa on the Adriatic Sea, visiting the palace of Princess Sisi and rubbing a finger to Hermes and making a wish at the same time, visiting the Zoodochou Pigis monastery, buying the highest quality rustic olive oil and natural cosmetics, tasting kumquat liqueurs and sweets!
The excursion to Meteora is in first place in the ranking of the most spectacular! And besides, it is much more convenient to go to Meteora from the island of Corfu than from the mainland, but not many people know about it. Meteora - the eighth wonder of the world, monasteries soaring in the clouds. There is a unique atmosphere of tranquility and grandeur. I write this and goosebumps run through my body from the memories.
The capital of the island has become one of the favorite places in Corfu. I advise you to get acquainted with Corfu Town with a guide, since the city, although small, but the streets are very similar to each other and it is easy to get lost there and not see all its beauty. A big plus of the trip is its short duration, it lasts only 4 hours.
The final excursion for me was a pilgrimage to holy places. Memories of this trip are still stored in the brightest corners of my memory. She gave me a charge of spirituality for a long time. Perfectly selected churches and monasteries to visit.
