During our vacation with my family in Halkidiki, my husband surprised me and we went on a day trip to Corfu with an air flight, in honor of our wedding day. It was very unexpected and romantic! And our children Mia and Mark spent this day with animators and educators of the children's club. So everyone was super satisfied. But now I’ll tell you about our trip to the miracle island, with breathtaking views, with a very authentic atmosphere and architecture.

I would like to immediately note the organization of the excursion. Air travel is always associated with queues and check-ins, but on this trip everything was very fast and organized. Upon arrival at the airport, we were given boarding tickets with our names, and we immediately went to the personal inspection area, and then to the waiting room, where we had enough time to drink coffee and refresh ourselves in one of the cafes located there. The flight itself is very easy to carry, not at all tiring. We flew only 40 minutes. On board we were offered soft drinks and croissants.

Arriving in Corfu, we were met and taken to comfortable buses. Our guide deserves special thanks for the ability to organize a group, and for the amazing stories along the way. The main attraction of the island and the Orthodox world is the Temple of Spyridon Trimifunsky, where the incorruptible relics of this Saint are located. Spiridon is the patron not only of Corfu, but also of the family well-being of all believers. So his visit became somewhat symbolic for us, besides, we were lucky to get to the liturgy.

After we visited one of the most beautiful palaces - Akhchileon, built in the Austrian style, the facade of which is decorated with Greek columns. The palace of Princess Elizabeth was named after the beloved Greek hero Achchiles. The rich interior of the rooms - marble floors and fireplaces, gilded furniture - struck with its grandeur. The inside of the building is decorated with statues of muses.

Then we had free time for lunch and a walk through the streets of the central square of the city of Corfu. It is also called the Greek Venice. The architecture is a bit reminiscent of Italian cities, but it looks original. We tried and took the kids various sweets made from a special variety of small kumquat oranges (they also make delicious liquor).

We had lunch in a tavern on the seashore, from where there was a great view of the defensive fortress on the mountain and the Mouse Island - Pontikos. We also took a boat trip in a glass bottom boat and immediately thought how the kids would like it. So let's plan the next visit with the whole family.

After having a good walk, we went to the airport to return to Chalkidiki. Our vacation was very eventful and left wonderful impressions and memories of this special day for us.
