We rested in Corfu in September 2013 with my husband and son 5 years old. Initially, we considered a 4 * hotel with a good beach and all inclusive. The agency advised us to see Messonghi Beach 3 * and were not mistaken! Thanks to our manager Ole. I really don't understand why the hotel has 3* status, I would give it a solid 4*! This is not my first time in Greece and I have something to compare with. In my opinion, it is simply not better to find an option with a "price-quality" ratio.
First of all, about the beach! Sandy, with a wide strip - beyond praise, clean warm sea, gentle entrance. I was a little embarrassed by the moment with paid sunbeds, but they are inexpensive - 3 euros. Large, picturesque green area, well-developed infrastructure. For children, for example, there is everything you need: a large playground, a mini-club (there is animation in Russian), a daily children's disco, many swimming pools, including 1 with slides... Children will not be bored. Adults will also find something to do.
The staff is friendly, helpful and smiling! Still, the Greeks are a hospitable people! Not everyone understands Russian, but there will definitely be someone who “understands”! The girl Mila helped us a lot, as well as Russian-speaking guides who are always on duty at the hotel.
The room is good, spacious and tidy. For a 3* it's just amazing. Cleaning is done very high quality, it is clear that the maids are trying. Cosmetic accessories were also replenished regularly. Tipping was left a couple of times, but even when they didn’t, it didn’t affect the quality of cleaning.
Separately, I would like to say about food. The food is very tasty and varied. Such diversity is rare. Breakfasts are standard: eggs, pastries, yoghurts, raw vegetables and not only, cheese, sausage, cottage cheese, tea, coffee, juices, sodas. Lunch and dinner!! ! All kinds of meat, side dishes, salads, grilled vegetables, cold appetizers, sauces, fruits, sweets. Delicious beer, wine. I am completely delighted with the food, you will not find this in every 4-5 *!
From the hotel you can walk to the villages of Moraitika and Messonghi. There is also a bus stop next to the hotel, from where you can go to Corfu. Corfu is very beautiful. Narrow streets reminiscent of Italy, small shops, many attractions. A must visit!
I advise everyone to visit Corfu and Messonghi in particular, I will definitely come back here again!
