I liked the fact that we were not bothered with cleaning the rooms, we ourselves took out our garbage, for us it was an advantage because we wanted to relax. There was one unpleasant nuance when we had an excursion, we asked to give us breakfast half an hour earlier than usual, they nodded our heads, but the result was zero, we did not have time to have breakfast. The hotel is conveniently located close to shops, the location itself is very cool.

But that time has long passed.
Pros: 1 - location. The city center, everything is close, the sea is a stone's throw away, there are wonderful taverns for every taste - from fast food at Woody's to the wonderful restaurant Agios Efrosinos with the first place in the list of rectors of Loutraki. On the street where the hotel ends, there is a supermarket Galaxias, further - a beautiful church. 2 - cheap. For a tour of 9 nights for four - about 80 thousand. This is with flights and breakfasts. 3 - we had a family room, everything was vital: air conditioning, normal pillows and even one extra, warm blankets, kettle, refrigerator, hair dryer. 4 - there were breakfasts, fresh rolls, cheese, ham / sausage, eggs, marmalade, butter, tea / coffee from thermoses, someone might get bored, but this is 2, don't forget. Cups and saucers can be taken to your room. 4 - we were settled very quickly, in almost three minutes. They check in as soon as the rooms are ready, which is good.
Minuses. 1 - rooms facing the square are very noisy. not just noisy, but insane. You can hear everything - constant cars, mopedists, harvesters. Keep in mind that Loutraki falls asleep at three in the morning and wakes up at five in the morning. If your sleep is even remotely light, stay away. They say that other rooms are quieter, but I did not check it myself. 2 - everything is old and tired. Cracks, chips, lack of a normal curtain in the bathroom (in many hotels in Greece, the bathtub is a tray, so this is not a minus), a refrigerator, which already freezes any food on the second shelf, one of the air conditioners leaked on the last night. 3 - a very important minus: there is not always hot water. She appears after you go and complain to either the guide (we went from Mouzenidis) or the housekeeper. Moreover, directly say that lower the rating of the hotel and write a negative review. At first, the hotel guide told us that the water depends on the sun, as far as it was enough. But it's not. The owner saves on water stupidly. Therefore, how else to explain her sudden appearance after sharp complaints? And do you know, if hot water is limited, then what, one wonders, is it poured into the toilet bowl ? ! Of course. cool, warm toilet, but can you just have normal tap water?
Addition: the housekeeping in the entire hotel is run by a single girl, Rudina. She cleans all 4 floors, checks in guests, covers and cleans breakfasts. I understand perfectly well that it is physically impossible for one person to cope with everything, so there are no complaints about her. She cleaned our room, once she herself offered to leave the key, the second time we ourselves asked to wipe the floors. Toilet paper and missing towels were provided promptly. Always polite and welcoming. Although the owner of the hotel seems to have practically abandoned his property. It can be found in the closet behind the reception desk.
In general, you can live, but the second time I will not go. Yes, there are pictures on the walls. But the walls, even in a hotel with 2 stars, must be wiped down. Let it be better without pictures, but more clean and well-groomed. Let everyone make their choice. We only spent the night in the hotel and rested a little after the excursions. Quite for undemanding experienced travelers. if you are coming for a beach holiday and are thinking of spending quite a lot of time at the hotel, it might be worth looking for something else.

I read the reviews and decided that if it is possible to save money while living in an art hotel, then why not.
In fact, everything turned out to be terrible. Upon arrival, no one met us, but a group of 10 people arrived. The owner was not there, only one woman works at the hotel from the staff, she is a cleaning lady, she is also a maid, she is also a waitress. We waited 2 hours for the rooms to be vacated and cleaned. Everything would be fine, we were ready for this, we specially put swimsuits in hand luggage, but... The hotel does not provide a place for storing luggage, i. e. we were offered to leave our suitcases and bags unattended in the lobby and take a walk around the city. There are no shared toilets in the hotel either, only in the rooms, so those who did not go to the toilet at the airport were left alone with their problem. There was nowhere to change. After a night flight, it was just awful.
Rooms. Super economy. Shower - pallet 60 by 60 cm, the walls are closed with an accordion. In the resulting cabin, an adult can turn around with difficulty. The shower hose is a dirty yellow rubber tube without any braid. Above this cabin is a peeling plaster ceiling. From toiletries 2 bars of soap.
Room. The lamps on the walls are dimly lit. From the ceiling, as a reminder of the once former chandelier, a wire hangs like a pig tail. The same ponytail on the wall, you could see the sconce. The socket at the bedside table hung on wires, the phone was charged with fear. The second socket was high on the wall, the wire did not reach the table. There was a teapot tray, but there was no teapot. I asked those who came with us - they also did not have teapots. There are no glasses or cups in the rooms. Wardrobe with three hangers and no drawers. There is one shelf, but for my height it was too high, I could not put anything there. Towels - one small and one bath towel per person. For 10 days, towels and bed linen have never been changed. Cleaning consisted of taking out the garbage from the room. The floors were washed once, and honestly, it would be better not to do this, puddles on the floor mixed with hair are not the most pleasant sight.
There is a terrible stuffiness in the hall, although there is forced ventilation. The owner turned on the air conditioner only once after urgent requests, but soon turned it off. They were present at the scandal, when one of the residents asked the owner for toilet paper, instead of running out.
Breakfast - buns are not always fresh, cheese, sausage, coarsely chopped cucumbers, butter, jam, boiled eggs. I read in reviews about olives and cereals - there was nothing like that, there was not even a tomato, which are very cheap. From drinks tea, coffee, milk to coffee. Since the worker is alone, she did not always have time to serve even this meager breakfast on time, people went down and saw empty tables. Constantly ended on the tables, then sugar, then napkins, had to be taken from other tables. On the day of departure, an early breakfast was ordered, but no one even thought to cover it. In the dining room, the mold on the wall with the paintings killed me the most. If only they washed it off, but no one pays attention. The whole hotel is dirty and smells of dust.
The main plus of the hotel, which is also its minus, is the location. It is located on the main square, it is convenient to walk from it to the beach, and to the bus station, and to shops, and to the SPA, and a lot of taverns nearby. But this is also a minus - there are a couple of cafes nearby, in which the Greeks can sit until 5 in the morning, talking very loudly, with songs. In addition, in Loutraki, it seems fashionable for young people to ride motorcycles, and the louder this motorcycle crackles, the more they like it. All this riding with chasing each other begins deep after 12 at night, along the streets adjacent to the hotel. When the motorcyclists get drunk, a very noisy and rumbling garbage truck will drive through the streets. If you decide that now you can sleep - you are mistaken, soon the bells will ring out at the nearby church. The quietest side, where numbers 13-14, if you get there, consider yourself lucky.
I am quite unpretentious, I didn’t expect much from the hotel, I thought that the main thing was the beach and the city, and we could spend the night in any conditions, but it turned out to be beyond comprehension. After all, the money is not paid a penny, but you get a bad service.
If you decide to go there, take clothespins with you - in the city of the wind, drying clothes can be carried away from the balcony.

Don't expect anything supernatural from 2*. The sea is close, the linen is clean, the room has everything you need - a kettle, hairdryer, refrigerator, air conditioning. There is only soap in the bathroom.
The breakfast is sufficient. Near a huge number of taverns and two supermarkets.
You can eat in a tavern (for three, the average check is 20-30 euros) or buy food in a supermarket in cooking (very tasty) will come out three times cheaper.
Lots of attractions in the area. We rented a car (50 euros per day + 200 deposit) and drove ourselves. It turned out much cheaper than excursions.
Near the hotel there is a Chinese shop where everything is much cheaper. and there is absolutely everything you need on vacation.
We would love to go back there again.

I was pleased with the developed infrastructure, and most importantly - everything is nearby. The question of food did not even arise, although we only had breakfasts, because there are numerous traditional and fish taverns, fast food, pastry shops, supermarkets, etc. everywhere. The children really liked the ice cream parlor. For shoppers, there is also a huge range. You can find everything you want and for every taste! We stayed at the Possidonion Hotel. Small cozy two-star hotel. In the room we had a safe, refrigerator, air conditioning, TV with two Russian channels. Although the window overlooked the main street, but there was no noise at night - this is a plus, everything is quiet and calm. There was good wi-fi throughout the hotel. The pebbly beach is within walking distance, one has only to cross the road. Umbrellas and sun loungers are free, subject to the purchase of a drink. Pleased with the cleanliness of the beach and the sea. And by the way, nearby is the spa center of Loutraki. You can choose different procedures for a different period of time. And opposite this spa center there is a source where you can draw the purest and healing water! It's just amazing! We were very satisfied, now we will recommend the town of Loutraki to everyone!

A lovely place! It is exceptionally well located. Go to the sea for about 2 minutes at a leisurely pace, but at the same time the windows do not overlook the embankment, where the crowd is noisy from sunset until almost dawn. On the square, into which the main street flows, there are cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops. Opposite the hotel and around the corner are 2 solid department stores with good prices. And a square with eucalyptus and pine trees, and radon springs, and a spa - all within a stone's throw.
The breakfasts were quite substantial: warm buns from a bakery around the corner, boiled eggs, cheese, feta cheese, two types of sausage, sliced fresh cucumber and cake, two types of butter and jam, coffee, tea, milk, orange juice. You could take as much as you wanted. Our enterprising countrymen also stocked up on provisions for dinner, the maids had nothing against it. Breakfast was served sometimes at 7:10, sometimes at 7:20. It was believed that it starts at 7 in the morning and lasts until 10, but the maids usually waited patiently "until the last visitor", that is, until about 10:30. Some of the rooms (from 2 to 5:202-205, etc. ) look out onto a picturesque square with palm trees and a fountain, behind which you can see the sea, some (from 6 to 9) - on lovely streets and mountains, some (it seems from 10 to 12) into the courtyard with palm trees and fig trees, and the 1st rooms (201.301, etc. ) go out into a narrow alley between the houses. These rooms are not as hot as the others, but there is a drawback: there is no balcony, and therefore there is not much light. And the view of the neighboring windows is not suitable for everyone. The rooms overlooking the square have their drawbacks: the sunny side, and quite noisy from cars and scooters, in which the Greeks prefer not to use a silencer. However, in the rooms overlooking the street, you can hear the same cars and scooters. (Life in Loutraki stopped at about two in the morning and began at about nine in the morning. But, to be honest, the noise outside the window was so cheerful and peaceful that few people were annoyed. )
The furniture in the rooms is sufficient. A wardrobe with a safe (sometimes without a key), hangers (somewhere there will be 3, and somewhere - 23, it's as lucky) and woolen blankets; a table in which a refrigerator is hidden, a bed (or two), a bedside table (sometimes two or three), a chair and a bench. Some rooms even had telephones. Two or three lamps, sometimes table lamps, sometimes only wall lamps. All rooms had a hair dryer and some also had an electric kettle. The air conditioner worked for everyone, and the TV, which was in every room, caught three channels from some (including Russian), and some only hissed and hissed. On the balcony there is a plastic table and chairs. By the way, take clothesline and clothespins with you! A strong wind often blows here, and towels with swimsuits fly all over the street, if you don’t make sure. Combined bathroom with either a shower or sit-down bath; two towels, large and medium, but there may be three, or maybe one. Everything may be in order, or maybe not: the plumbing here is old. In the 201st, water periodically poured from the tank onto the floor, and the maid Khristina helped only by giving a doormat, and when I moved to the 206th, without waiting for help from the owners, I fixed the tank myself, which made a wild noise . The blinds worked properly, and in some places there were not blinds, but shutters, which, perhaps, is even more convenient and certainly more romantic!
The staircase in the hotel is beautiful, marble, decorated with paintings and engravings, but rather steep and slippery. So everyone basically used the elevator. By the way, watercolors, engravings, reproductions and photographs of celebrities who visited the hotel hang in the rooms, and in the bar, and in the lobby, and in the dining room, everything is very nice and tasteful.
There is Internet in the hotel, however, often Wi-Fi was not available, but I used a computer (which "froze" no more than an hour or two). The computer room is located in the basement, it is stuffy and there is little light, but there are toilets. And we even attached a Russian keyboard to one of the computers, which we found on a nearby table.
Perhaps the only drawback of this hotel is sloppy cleaning. True, the garbage from the basket under the sink was thrown out almost every day. But they don’t use a vacuum cleaner or a broom here. The floors were washed extremely rarely and, again, carelessly. True, Loutraki is a clean little town, no smog, no dust, but strong winds can bring any plant debris and cigarette butts from neighboring balconies into the room. Bed linen was changed only on request, towels too. It was possible to put a note with a request for turnkey cleaning of the room, which, when leaving, everyone left on the counter at the porter, or you could personally ask.
The inn is run by Alexander and his son Petros. Both speak English and Italian (and maybe some other languages). Alexander is already very old, so Petros takes care of everything. There are also two maids. Both young Christina and elderly Vasiliki (emphasis on "and") are equally amiable and know a few words of English.
True, knowledge of any language is not necessary there: a dozen English words, five Greek words (with the help of a phrase book) and expressive gestures - this is quite enough to ask for a towel and to discuss the quality of food in a nearby diner . Both the hotel staff and in general all the inhabitants of the town are friendly and set to communicate, so in any case they will at least try to understand you. In this regard, the Greeks (both in Loutraki, and in Athens, and in Nafplion) almost outdid the traditionally amiable Petersburgers. Almost all Greeks - of any age - know at least some level of English, many speak Italian, some Spanish, some even Russian. There are enough of our former compatriots among the sellers and waiters in the town, many taverns and cafes use the menu in Russian and English. So problems with communication here simply cannot arise!
Greek food is exactly as they write about it, everything is very tasty, and portions designed for one can saturate four (but in some eateries everything is modest, there a single portion is enough "only" for two). Products in stores are cheaper than ours, and incomparably better quality. If you are not a fan of taverns and restaurants, then you will have enough local marvelous yogurt, milk, cheese and bread (which is better to buy in bakeries, and not in supermarkets, where they mainly sell rather banal “cuts”). On Wednesdays and Saturdays there is a bazaar where they sell clothes, and all sorts of household goods, and fresh fish, and seafood, and vegetables and fruits. Paradox: fish is not too cheap (as one might assume, since the sea is nearby), chicken is more expensive than pork-mutton, and sweets are more expensive than meat. Vegetables and fruits are cheaper and much tastier than in St. Petersburg. Tomatoes at 30-40 cents (“lepta” in Greek) per kilo, excellent peaches and oranges at 80 lepta or 1 euro each, the sweetest grapes from 50 cents to 1 euro... Only cucumbers are not very good, but they are in the local arid climate difficult to grow.
Well, and most importantly, in the Possidonion Hotel, as well as in Loutraki themselves, it is unusually comfortable. It is not entirely clear what this depends on, but it is a fact. It seems that you are not in a hotel, but at a party or even at home. None of my neighbors said: "I'm going to the hotel", everyone said: "I'm going home. " And it seemed that you were not in a town, but in an arbor covered with ivy on the shores of the gentle sea. It's definitely worth coming here!

At once I want to say that the trip was very budget, and for one we were offered a hot ticket for 7 days BB for 175E, however, we had to leave the next day.
1. Hotel. The Possidonion 3 * hotel itself is the cheapest hotel in the center of the small town of Loutraki. Rooms are cleaned only a few times a week, breakfast is quite poor, but there is a very friendly staff, especially the hotel director Petros Econiu - a nice and friendly man. The hotel is small, on 4 floors, about 10 rooms on the floor, located in the central square of the town, 100 m from the beach and park. The park has a spring with healing water, which removes bile, etc. , but you need to drink carefully.
2. Loutraki. Famous for its waters and balneological baths (entrance somewhere around 6-7 E).
Mineral water has been flowing directly from the tap for decades, so you won't need to buy water. This is serious - I drank all week and I feel very good. This water is bottled and sold throughout Greece. You just take a bottle and collect water from the tap, you can cool it in the refrigerator (they are together with air conditioning in every room of the hotel).
The city has many cafes, restaurants and shops. As for the mini-markets, one is right next to the hotel up the street, not far from the church. At prices, one of the best, another - 200 m to the left of the main road - a little more expensive and smaller, another - the largest - about a kilometer to the left of the main road. In the cafe you can taste local cuisine - especially interesting offers are "Sea Mix" - all kinds of fish, mussels, squid, etc. One of the most popular fish there is gavrus, you can buy a plate for 7 E.
Reminiscent of something like capelin: ) also treated to somewhere around 12 E octopuses, but I never liked them
The Greeks love coffee, so fans of this drink will be happy to drink it there, especially in the heat there is now served frappe with ice. Almost most dishes are served local wine - inexpensive and pleasant, not like in Ukraine : )
As for the beach, it is mostly in Greece is communal, ie free for tourists. One can only wish for sunbeds and umbrellas. You can buy yourself a rug or umbrella, or pay daily to those who earn on it - somewhere around 2.50 E per day. The water is clear and transparent, you can see the bottom and the fish, so it may be interesting to dive in a mask
3. Excursions and entertainment.
In general, Loutraki has the largest casino in circulation in Europe, so if you have a lot of finances - go there : )
If you are interested in the opportunity to go boating - there are many offers on the beach, you can also go for a ride on the canal or on the island. In the mountains there is a center for para-and-hang gliding, somewhere I saw a mountaineering center.
Near Loutraki is the famous all over Greece salt lake Voulagmenis, where a lot of good fish and easy swimming, right next to the lighthouse is a cove, where once was the temple of Gary and where you can still swim, especially beautiful - in a month.
Greece is a country with a rich Orthodox culture, near Loutraki is a pilgrimage center - an interesting nunnery of St. Patapia, far in another part of the country - the monasteries of Meteora and Mount Athos. There are a lot of churches everywhere.
History and culture. Loutraki is located about 15 km from the ancient city of Corinth, about 45 km from Mycenae, 80 km from Athens.
In Old Corinth there are majestic ruins of the ancient city, where Greek and Roman antiquities intertwined and where the Apostle Paul visited, the majestic fortress Acrocorinth rises above the city, somewhat similar to our Pike perch, but larger and in better condition (it must be traveled by car). The Old Corinth Museum is open until 17:00, and the Acrocorinth Fortress is free to enter. Mycenae - a special monument of ancient Greek civilization from 1500-1200 BC. is. ! There is a museum there, which, like many museums in Greece, is open only until 15.00!
Near Mycenae is the town of Epidaurus, home to one of Greece's best-preserved ancient theaters, and Nafplion, the capital of Greece in the early 19th century. , where there is an old fortress, a pretty old part. On the way to Nafplion-Corinth you can visit several other places, such as Tiryns, Argos and Nemea, where there are interesting ancient remains.
For such a trip it is best to take a car for a group of 4-5 people, local agencies offered them for 50E per day (somewhere else it will cost 25-30 E for gasoline, it is there for 1.75E).
You can go to Athens on a tour, it will be somewhere around 50E, and you can do what I did. From Loutraki there is a bus to Athens almost every year and it costs 7.50 one way. Returns around 19-21.00 every day. In Athens, the most interesting objects are the Acropolis with accompanying museums (Ancient and Roman Agora, Ceramics, Adriana Library, Apollonion, etc. - they are open until 15.00!! )
It is interesting to hang out in the area of cafes and shops Plaka, which is located right next to the Acropolis. Pay attention! At such an hour it can be terribly hot - about 40 C, so you need to take sunscreen gels, drink plenty of water and take breaks to rest. An interesting place to relax is the National Park, located between the Zapio Palace and the Parliament.
Near the parliament there is a monument to an unknown soldier, where there is a famous guard of funny dressed eunuchs.
Some guides talk about curiosity about their stadium, library, etc. , but I didn't see anything interesting in it. To fully understand the situation, you can start a tour of the Acropolis and quietly and for free listen to something interesting about this place: ), and you can use the sightseeing bus or train, which will pull somewhere for 15-20 E. Cafes and shops are cheaper away from the main tourist routes.
4. What to buy
Greece, as written in the guides, has about 119 million olive trees, respectively - pickled olives (raw to eat : )), olive oil. The next product is grapes, wine and grape vinegar. Prices vary. But most of the wine I bought was good and cheap - you could buy it for 2 liters. They have white, red and red wine (the latter is less popular).
In Loutraki on Wednesdays and Saturdays in the morning there is a bazaar where you can buy cheap quality fruits and vegetables - for 0.80 - tomatoes and cucumbers, for 1-2 - grapes, for 4-5 - figs, for 0.2 - watermelon, 0.8 - melon, etc. d. I just ate it all in pounds : )
Traders are also talking about an unprecedented interest in fur coats and leather among former postmen, but I somehow did not use this option : )
