On August 7.2013, we went to the island of Samos as five of us with our children and granddaughter. The island turned out to be very small, but picturesque. Our hotel Kampos Village Resort 3*
was next to the sea, but across the road, from the room to the beach the road took 5-7 minutes. The rooms are quite spacious with a small kitchenette and a charming balcony. Our rooms had a picturesque view of the mountains and the sea, and from the other of the sea and the pool. We didn’t have to cook in the kitchen, because the food (and we had all inclusive) was excellent and we never had time to get hungry.
So, nutrition. The food is very high quality and healthy. I will specifically dwell on food, because. a lot of controversy among tourists, judging by the reviews. The buffet always had two or three types of meat and poultry (chicken, turkey, beef, pork, rabbit), fish. From side dishes: potatoes (mashed or french fries, or baked), beans, carrots, pasta. Vegetarian and meat lasagna. Three or four types of salads and separately chopped vegetables and sauces for them. Fruits have always been melons, watermelons and apples. There were many desserts: cakes, puddings, cookies, pastries. Drinks were also plentiful. In the morning - coffee (espresso, cappuccino and 5 more types), cocoa, chocolate, milk, tea, all kinds of sprites, forfeits and just mineral water, and starting from lunch, also dry white and red wine, beer, strong drinks and everything good quality. In short, even the most fastidious tourist, I think, could always choose a menu to his liking.
There are many small cafes and restaurants along the seashore. I want to warn you, restaurants have very large portions, so do not rush to order a lot, a portion of salad or soup or a second one cannot be eaten by one person.
On Saturdays, in our hotel there was always a gala dinner, entertainment program, Greek music was played, Greek dances were danced.
The only negative is that there was practically no animation for children.
The hotel has three swimming pools. I would like to note that in each pool a capacity for kids is thought out. Sun loungers by the pools are free.
WiFi was free and caught throughout the hotel.
The beaches in Greece are rocky, so you need to bring slippers with you. The sea is always calm. Sun loungers on the beach are paid, but the fee includes a bottle of water.
The rental car costs 40 euros. We ordered at the reception. You get a car with half a tank of gasoline, you need to return it with the same volume. Gasoline costs about 1.8 euros. But the island is small, so we spent about 20 liters of gasoline in two days, having traveled around it up and down. We traveled on a map uploaded back in Russia, i. e. Greek maps were less detailed.
