The choice fell on the Peloponnese quite by accident. At first we wanted to fly to Rhodes, but the circumstances were such that after two unsuccessful attempts we realized that Rhodes was not for us. Just at that moment, we were offered a new direction for us and for St. Petersburg - the Peloponnese peninsula. We practically did not hear anything about him, even, ashamed to admit, we had to use the map to understand exactly where we would fly. The plane arrives at Araxos military airport.

We chose a hotel near the largest city on the peninsula of Patras (Patra) - Florida Blue Bay.
The hotel is located about 15-20 km from the city in the small village of Psathopyrgos. It is quiet, cozy and comfortable. The rooms are spacious.
The hotel is located in an unusual place: mountains rise behind it, in front of the sea, beyond which the peaks of mountain ranges, located already on the mainland, are also visible. And, as you know, only mountains can be better than mountains.

In addition, the windows face west, which means that it is possible to watch the sunset directly from the balcony.
This delightful place creates a peculiar local climate. Here the sea breeze is not always so gentle, the wind is quite strong. And in the evenings - a pleasant coolness. Accordingly, because of the winds and coolness, the sea cannot be called warm. The temperature is about 19-20 degrees, although for some it will turn out to be hot. The coast is all pebbly, but the infrastructure of the hotel is such that the pool, the beach bar and the beach itself are connected by a wooden platform, and entry into the water can be made both from this platform and from a small pier. In fact, it is very convenient - no need to worry about grains of sand and everything is always clean. Sunbeds are definitely free. The hotel has a spa, billiards, tennis court, volleyball court - in general, you will not get bored. There are no taverns or shops in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.
For all this, you need to go to the center of the village to the right, about 500-600 meters (if you go along the sea, respectively, to the left, the path will be somewhat shorter). Taverns, as elsewhere, which cannot be said about shops - the choice of everything is very meager, fruits and vegetables are at a minimum, and there are absolutely no maps, guides, and even more so souvenirs. And in general, in the whole village there are only 2 shops and one shop like a kiosk. This moment, of course, surprised us and somewhat upset us. There is a bus to Patras near the hotel. The cost of the trip is 1.5 euros. The bus runs every half an hour until late in the evening.

Dinner at the hotel not only made us happy, but very happy! In Greece, we are accustomed to receiving meager continental breakfasts in simple hotels, but here there was a nice selection of dishes for every taste, desserts and wine. Very nice.
At breakfasts at the hotel, you will also not be left hungry: scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, fruits and vegetables - this is what will give you strength before the heat in the mountains.

We rented a Nissan note for 5 days. The car cost us quite a lot, compared to how we rented cars earlier in other places in Greece. We paid 360 euros for her and 20 euros for bringing her from Patras.
