Hotel ratings by criteria:
My daughter and I had a great vacation! A beautiful country (island), beautiful people, very friendly and sincere, which was very captivating and added positive to the overall vivid impression of the rest in Crete!
Now - about the hotel. I chose it, you can say "blindly". That is, I mainly focused on the information on the hotel website (www. biohotel. gr). And here, as you understand, options are possible: you can come and see a completely different picture. For some reason, our travel agency could not say anything definite about the hotel (no one had seen this hotel, just some kind of phantom), there were literally a couple of reviews on the Internet. But nevertheless, I decided to try... What is the result? As a result, we got an excellent combination of price and quality!
Regarding 4 stars: there were some minor, in my opinion, nuances that did not allow the hotel to claim a full-fledged 4 * in the understanding of rich continental Europe. But this is if you quibble. Therefore, I will give the hotel a solid 3 * +. Judge for yourself how important such moments are for you: a small gym - only 6 or 7 simulators, including a non-working treadmill (my daughter and I went a couple of times, then gave up - swimming seemed to us a more effective and enjoyable activity); the glass top of the tables in the pool bar had a rather sad (scratched) look; the design of the corridors on the floors is quite simple, although the hotel lobby fully meets 4 *; the size of the bathroom left much to be desired, although everything you need was quite compactly placed there: a bathtub, a toilet bowl, a washbasin (by the way, everything is new and clean !!! ). BUT! Here's another thing - this, perhaps, in my eyes was the biggest minus - the tables near the pool (those that rely on sun loungers) for some reason, the attendants did not like to wipe them. : ( Judge for yourself how important such moments are for you. Now, two weeks after the trip, I had to strain my brain well to remember what little things did not allow me to give full 4 * to the hotel.

Now for the good:
1) The staff is very friendly, polite, smiling. Moreover, this does not depend on the fact of issuing tips and on the nationality of vacationers.
2) Food - I would say that 50% of a hotel's success is what their chef does. Someone wrote that the food is fatty. I do not agree. Mayonnaise salads were present, BUT! At the same time, there was always a lot of fresh vegetables (and ready-made salads, and with the ability to combine your own salad), as well as boiled vegetables, vegetable mixes, national sauces, dressings, etc. , various degrees of fat content of side dishes, meat and fish dishes, which - some casseroles (each time different), for lovers of first courses - there was always soup for dinner (one or two types, I don’t remember exactly - we didn’t eat the first one); canned fruits and lots of fresh ones!! ! Their yogurts are as thick as our bazaar sour cream (you still need to look for one). There was always something sweet and delicious for dessert, in addition to the fruits already mentioned, there were also pastries (a separate bow to them for their quality), jelly, etc. In short, everything went well with the food. We usually eat very little. But here we simply could not resist - you put a little of everything on a plate, as a result, you roll out of the "canteen" like a kolobok. And what was also nice, for dinner, their chef came out to the restaurant hall (a tall, stately, elderly Greek in a snow-white uniform and decorously communicated with the people like that)
3) Rooms - we had a studio room. One of the most successful - in terms of shape - it was square. The rest (most) are oblong. All - with a balcony, which has a table, chairs and a folding clothes dryer. They are all equipped the same way. And I must say, there were no complaints here. In the room: air conditioning, TV with a Russian channel (RTR), equipped kitchenette (electric stove, sink, refrigerator, roaster, microwave, electric kettle, coffee maker - all manufactured by Moulinex). There are all the dishes (not cheap, good quality). All this happiness is included in the price of the room. Air conditioning was not paid separately, it was included. This happiness of ours was first announced to us when we checked into the hotel. It is known that often a separate surcharge is taken for this. We paid extra only for the safe (of our own free will). BUT! Here's another thing - the safe was not with a combination lock, but with an ordinary one - that's why it's not 4 *). Cleaning - every day. There are no complaints about its quality. Even flowers were brought in a small vase. Bedding and towels are perfectly white. At first I could not understand how many times our bed is changed. I thought every day - it turned out once every two days. : )

4) The pool is quite big. And from morning until 11 o'clock you will have no competitors. The resting public from the Scandinavian countries prefers to expose their white skin to the sun closer to 12, to one in the afternoon. When the sun is hotter. This was a separate mystery for me. During the two weeks of our stay, the pool was cleaned three times - this is just what I saw myself (early in the morning). In fact, maybe more often. There were enough sun loungers for everyone. This is despite the fact that the foreign part of the public prevailing in the hotel prefers not to go to the sea. And they all come with families - 4-5 people each.
5) The contingent of vacationers - mostly Swedes, Finns, Germans, Dutch. There were 5 couples (maximum) of ours for the whole hotel, including us. Many are with children.
6) The location is excellent. Sea - 80 m. Wide sandy beach. There are a lot of shops, restaurants, supermarkets, bars, travel agencies, car rental nearby, a 10-minute slow walk is the old town with the Venetian port and the old fortress. We liked to walk there in the evenings, if we had strength left after excursions.
7) Beach - to any beach, except for the beach of the Porto Rethymnon hotel, admission is free. This one is also free, but you will be politely asked to leave it. it is only for guests of Porto Rethymnon. So, if you want, you lie down on sun loungers (7-8 euros for 2 sun loungers and an umbrella), you can do it for free, but without sun loungers. There are a lot of beach gadgets for sale around - you can buy your own umbrella and wallow in the sand. There is enough space for everyone, the beach is huge, wide. Clean. Somewhere more, somewhere less (depending on how the rental company cleans it). I have a suspicion that if you walk along the promenade away from the hotel, it will be cheaper (5-6 euros). I judge this only by the appearance of the beaches. We were on the beach closest to the hotel. There are tables with ashtrays. Showers, changing rooms - everything is in place and functioning. You can leave your towels on the beach and return after dinner. Nobody will take anything! The sea is clean and beautiful. There are no jellyfish, only transparent fish swim. There are no algae. The beauty!

And finally, one more pleasant moment that I forgot to write about - we arrived late at night: in addition to a very kind young man who was not sleeping at the reception, cold snacks, bread, water and fruits were waiting for us in the room. It was very useful for us, because. we were quite tired and hungry. And what’s more, when we left, for some reason they didn’t take money for this food, but they should have, if according to the rules.
I will not attach photos of the hotel, since everything that is on their website (see above) is true. I just wish you all a good rest and the most pleasant impressions!!!
