At the beginning, I would like to note that at the moment the correct name for the hotel is Grecotel Plaza SPA Appartments.

Advantages:
Responsive staff
Convenient location
nice beach

Disadvantages:
Electrical problems in the evening
Cockroaches that are actively poisoned

It took us a long time to choose where to rest. But we settled on Crete, for the most part because of the presence of the largest Samaria Gorge in Europe. But also out of great love for Greece and the presence of the most beautiful emerald color of the seas washing numerous islands.

Flight and accommodation
We flew in around 19, i. e. already at the end of the day. Dreams of bathing on the first day melted before our eyes. Passport control was surprisingly slow, and we are already used to the fact that they shout in advance so that we open our passports on visas so that they don’t waste time on us. I had to stand for 40 minutes. But the luggage was immediately seized. At the exit we were all lined up.

We were seated on buses according to our directions and off we went. Perhaps, if we had gone directly to our hotel, we would have arrived in an hour, and since almost the entire bus had to be dropped off along the way, we drove all 2.5 hours. Of course, the sun had set a long time ago, we were already tired, we just wanted to eat and sleep, and there was no question of any sea. We were quickly registered at the reception, diluting the English speech with Russian words, and escorted to our apartments. The room is a full-fledged apartment, except that they didn’t find a washing machine, otherwise there was even a dishwasher and even tablets for it.

Hotel
The hotel is comfortable and very interesting for its architecture. It is at least unusual, if only for its multi-colored buildings, which in general represent the feeling of an entire block, and not just one boring building. There are several pools with sun loungers, but we did not use them, although others were actively squirming there.
The hotel positions itself as a SPA, and there is a separate building for these services, but we have never been there, so we can’t say anything about it. There is also one bad moment. Apparently, there are cockroaches on this street. Cockroaches are not our Prussians, but southern, large ones. They are bullied at the hotel, so if they come across here, then they are already upside down. But we have come across many times. Sometimes animation programs and specialized evenings are held here. On such days the restaurant has a special menu. By the way, the restaurant menu could be more extensive - we didn’t just move to the tavern, we just tried all the dishes and we wanted something new.

Beach
The beach at the hotel is clean with sun loungers, umbrellas, chairs and a volleyball court. When the wave rose quite strongly, we caught an oil speck, which the sand did not scrape off and we had to go to the room to wash. As it turned out, we were not alone.
But this is rather a common problem, besides, we caught him not on the territory of our hotel. There are lifeguards who make sure that swimmers do not swim far. There is a shower where you can wash off the salt water. Rubbish is regularly removed.

road traffic

I also want to say a little about the driving style in Greece: almost everywhere we were in Greece, they had a double solid on the roads (we never saw a single solid one). But ...to put it mildly, they do not care. Feel free to cross it all the time. Even the police. All signs, as in that joke, are looked at only out of curiosity. Where there is a sign of restriction "40", the bulk goes "90-100". And in general, the speed of "100", as we understand it, is standard. Sometimes there were signs warning about the camera, and the general flow only slightly reduced the speed to 90-98 km / h.
Driver's courtesy is developed: the one in front will always shrink to the right (although sometimes you have to hint about this by flashing a distant one, or a short horn signal). Flashing an emergency gang - "thank you" is not practiced here. On a trip, we took a PDA with Garmin and iGO 8.3 navigation software. For them, the latest maps of Greece by local manufacturers were installed. It was a complete fiasco! Even Garmin, on which we pinned our main hopes, was powerless. Catastrophic discrepancy between the roads on the map and reality! Turns that don’t exist in principle, roads that never existed in principle ...Out of desperation, a map from another local manufacturer for Garmin “AutoDrive Hellas 1.97” was downloaded and installed, and lo and behold, the road surface scheme began (behind minor flaws) to correspond reality! Full navigation became possible, the list of POI objects was greatly expanded.

A little more about the hotel
We had to vacate the room before 12 o'clock, and they came to the airport for us only at half past two. We asked the reception what to do with our luggage. I was pleasantly surprised that they have a special room for luggage, a shower, changing rooms, including, in principle, you could go to the beach without hesitation.

In general, the rest was very pleasant. You can read about the whole vacation in our LiveJournal http://travel-altshift. livejournal. com/6381.html Every day is detailed there and everything is heavily seasoned with photographs. I advise!
