We rested in this hotel with a family (3 people) from August 26 to September 9.2010. Check-in after arrival was instant. Check-out - also without delay (although they do not strictly ensure that vacationers leave the room at exactly 12-00. We were in the room almost until 14-00, until the bus arrived). They gave me a room on the first floor next to it - with a small pool (there is also a large one). Everything seems to be fine - right from the room (ground floor) you can go out through the balcony and swim. But bleach is poured into these pools from the heart - even the water becomes cloudy. But with a strong desire - you can plunge. The second minus - around this pool is VERY noisy. Especially after 11-12 at night. Drunken companies of Poles haunt (filled this hotel - 80%), drinking alcohol on the tables next to the pool. The Germans can somehow be called to order. And these are useless. . . The squeal of women, loud conversation and screams do not let you sleep. And sometimes, when you fall asleep, a noisy company diving into the pool at 3 am can wake you up. If, of course, close the balcony door and turn on the air conditioning - it will be much quieter. But in the evening and at night at this time of the year it is not at all hot, but also cool. . So we didn't use air conditioning. And at night I sometimes had to cover myself with warmer blankets. In addition, air conditioning (I have never seen this before) - PAID - 5 EURO per day (a control panel is given - you can’t turn it on without it). The safe is in the closet in the room. Also paid - 1.5 EURO per day. The rooms are very large, 2 (one bedroom) and 3 (two bedroom) rooms. In the living room there is a sofa bed, a spacious refrigerator, an electric stove, a coffee maker, el. kettle, toaster, full set of plates, glasses, spoons, forks, etc. The bedrooms have a double or two single beds. Cleaned strictly every day - change and bedding and towels (cleaning excellent). True, it is worth noting that soap is not put in the bathroom, there is no shampoo (take it with you from home). Sockets are only in the rooms, so you won't be able to shave and dry your hair (there is a hair dryer in the bedroom) in the bathroom. On the balcony there are two tables (one with a glass top, the other plastic), two wicker chairs and two plastic chairs. Meals - 3 plus (weak) - compared to the same Spain. But however, everything is edible (not what is acceptable in Egypt - the table is large, but there is nothing). On the other hand, this hotel was very cheap - so we were ready for a modest option. I don’t advise you to go swimming in the sea across the road opposite the hotel or through the Maravel Land hotel - there are a lot of pitfalls and slippery slabs. If it's calm, then you can safely enter the sea without any problems. But if the wave - then not for long and break on the stones. We, personally, went to the territory of the 5-star hotel AQUILA RITHYMNA BEACH (200-300 meters to the left, dark blue umbrellas on the beach) - there are sunbeds in the shade of palm trees for free, and an excellent entrance to the sea, and 3 large pools - one right by the sea. So in our hotel we only ate and slept. Crete has a fairly large number of beaches - with poor access to the sea (especially in the south of the island). In general, water (if there are no waves) is very transparent and warm (25-27 gr. ). The color of the water is an unusually rich ultramarine. The time was spent mainly in a rented car on trips around the island (we traveled a total of more than 2000 km in 7 days). Traveled him far and wide. Beauty is extraordinary. Serpentines of roads, rocks, gorges, valleys, hills, picturesque monasteries - make this island very attractive (I liked the natural views no less than in the Canaries - and there, I assure you, there was something to see). Unpleasantly surprised by the cost of gasoline (95) - 1.6 euros per liter. And in general - almost everything is more expensive than in Moscow (maybe with the exception of knitwear and... fur coats). "Taverns - eateries" - more expensive than in Spain (Costa Brava - Tenerife, etc. ). Greek "Metaxa" - costs more than in Russia. The cheapest wine is 2.3 euros (in southern Europe this costs 0.5 euros) - so-so; products are naturally expensive. Only fruits cost about the same as in Moscow. Saved the buffet. An average dinner for 3 in a tavern (with drinks) is around 35-50 euros. Which is VERY expensive for us. The cheapest and most nutritious of the dishes is gyros pita (like shawarma) - 3 euros. So the buffet helped us out. But in general (without being distracted by such trifles) - I really liked the rest.
