Good, inexpensive, conveniently located hotel. We chose, partly relying on the numerous positive reviews of tourists, and did not regret it. The hotel is small, two-storey, all rooms are on the second floor, there is no elevator. On the ground floor there is a hall with a reception, a bar and a room where breakfast is served in the morning. In the courtyard behind the hotel there is a small but very decent, clean pool, there are sun loungers and umbrellas. We had a standard double room.

A fairly spacious room has two beds, a spacious wardrobe (it has a safe that can be locked with a key), a TV (only Greek channels, so there is nothing to watch), a small kitchen with everything you need (refrigerator, two-burner stove, sink, a minimum set of necessary utensils) , a small balcony with a table and chairs, there is a very convenient clothes dryer (you won't find this everywhere! ). Room cleaning every day (except Sunday), linen change every other day.

Very friendly staff, we recommend that if you have any questions, feel free to contact the reception, they will always help, explain everything, the only problem is that you need to know English, there are no Russian speakers in the hotel.

The hotel is located between two roads, the facade faces the sea, on the road inside Adelianos Kampos, and from the courtyard, behind the pool, there is a highway that runs along the northern coast of Crete. Our room was facing the sea and I think it was quieter than the one overlooking the pool, in the evening the traffic in the village subsided, but cars drive around the clock on the highway.

Walk to the beach literally 2-3 minutes. The beach is spacious, it was not very crowded, but we were in the second half of September, I think that everything is different in summer. Sun loungers and umbrellas on the beach are paid (5 euros per day for an umbrella and two sun loungers), but you can buy an umbrella in a store for 7-8 euros, and you can get by with beach towels brought from home.
The beach is sandy and pebbly, clean, the entrance to the sea is not very convenient, a sharp descent and a stone slab at the bottom, when the sea is calm, there are no special problems, but when there is excitement, it will be difficult to enter and exit, it is better to enter the water and immediately swim, walk the bottom is not very comfortable. Something reminded me of Croatia, however.

Nearby, on the road towards Rethymno, there are three good supermarkets with a good selection of products, the most remote is Lidl, it even has its own bakery, but it is better to find it on the map first, it is located on the other side of the highway, you need to know where to turn left from the village road and walk along the road.

You can get to Rethymno by bus, the interval is about 30 minutes, there is no schedule anywhere, but we experimentally found out that they go every half an hour, that is, something like this: 8-00.8-30.9-00.9-30 and so on until the evening. Tickets are not sold on the bus, you need to buy in advance, you can find them in any store, they took 1.80 euros to Rethymno.

If you eat light and have a desire to save on a taxi upon arrival, you can get to the hotel almost by bus. From Nikos Kazantzakis airport we go to Heraklion, to the bus station (tell the driver “Heraklion Bus Station A”) from there to the Rethymno bus station, the bus runs every hour. Then it’s better to take a taxi, it’s not far from the hotel, it costs literally 10 euros (tell the taxi driver “Adelianos Kampos - Matthias Hotel Apartments”), and from the Rethymno bus station to the local bus stop, go far enough and if you don’t know the way, you can get lost. A taxi costs about 90 euros from the airport, with transfers, the two of us spent 20 euros on a bus for a bus, plus 10 on a taxi, saved 60 euros, you can have dinner 2 or even 3 times; -)
