Wonderful excursions
From 08/27/2013 - 09/07/2013 we went with my family to the island of Crete. We liked everything very much, but most of all we liked the excursions. We took them from the local travel agency Aitidis Travel. They have two offices, one in Panormo village, the other in Bali village. It is very easy to find in Panormo - it is located one street from the terminus of the train (which runs between nearby hotels).
The owner of the company Artur and his wife Lena are from the USSR. They have been living in Crete for 17 years and all this time they are engaged in the excursion business, the experience is colossal. It is very pleasant that the whole tour takes place in purely Russian. The tour is led by a Russian woman Tatyana, a philologist by education, who married a Cretan, hence she knows all the subtleties of the Cretan way of life. Listening to her is a pleasure. When you listen to her, you are afraid to miss at least one of her words - it is so interesting!
The main advantage - unlike Pegasus (a hotel tour operator), is that we traveled around a much larger number of attractions in one direction in one tour, were the first everywhere from 8 am to 7 pm, visited places that a large bus cannot reach (the advantage of a minibus, in which there were six of us on the first excursion, and ten people on the second) or group excursions are prohibited. Our delight was indescribable: for both children and adults.
When at the hotel we talked with people who traveled with the hotel tour operator, we learned that they left at 6 am and arrived at 10 pm and visited mainly the toilet and shopping centers and only a couple of attractions, moreover, for a price one and a half times more than we paid. On excursions, the guide was almost inaudible, because of the huge number of people.
With this travel agency, we visited two excursions, and both times were very satisfied. My father was especially lucky. He is very inquisitive, is fond of history and talked with the guide all the way. He was very pleased. We really enjoyed the tours.
