Hi all. June 28.2012 arrived from Rhodes. We rested at the Bel air hotel in Ixia. In Greece for the first time - before that they were only in Turkey. Immediately I warn THIS HOTEL FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO RELAX IN SILENCE. There is no animation. Those who want to make some noise and shout - TAGIL! go to another hotel. We arrived at 8 in the morning - there are no places - they say wait until 11 when the rooms are free. There are three of us - me, my wife and our son. At the reception immediately offered to go to breakfast. We went to have breakfast (about food a little lower), then we left our bags at the reception and went to the sea. The sea is across the road - the road is quite difficult to cross - very heavy traffic - there is no pedestrian crossing (minus the hotel for this). The Aegean Sea - constant waves, almost a meter high - is a paradise for windsurfers. The warm wind blows constantly. City beach - not hotel - large pebbles - entry into the sea is difficult - without special slippers (6 euros price) do not go in. Sunbeds and umbrellas are paid - our (Russian) lie on the towels. The sea is quite cool compared to the Mediterranean, but clean. Shorter than 2 hours later, when we had breakfast and swam in the sea, we were settled. ALL ROOMS WITH SEA VIEW! We lived on the 4th floor. Who writes that the hotel is old - DO NOT BELIEVE! ! The hotel is just after renovation. Everything is clean! The room has new plumbing in the bathroom. Cleaning every day. (Change of linen and towels) No one demanded any tips from us (unlike Turkey) Bright room refrigerator, TV, air conditioning. Balcony - 3 chairs and a table. Meals - buffet. Do not wait for borscht and pickles - you are in Europe. They feed well. Meat, turkey - chicken were. They even gave me a barbecue! Melon - watermelon - oranges. Red-white wine, beer - I don’t want to give up. Nobody went hungry. The hotel is mostly Germans, British and Poles - there are not so many of ours. Be prepared to explain yourself in English. Animation, as I wrote in this hotel, no. We were a week. Once 2 girls came with a synthesizer and performed hits from the 80s and 90s. and another time a Greek dressed as Elvis performed hits from the 60s and 70s. I must say who is going for what - we went to visit various interesting places, so we didn’t really need animation. There is a tour on site. agency MANOS - nice Russian-speaking couple - Gunta and Manos. We took all tours from them. And I recommend it to everyone else. People work with passion! I will explain their advantage over others - the company has a fleet of minibuses (and not hefty NEOPLANs) on which you will be taken to places that you simply cannot pass on a big bus. Huge big hello! The traffic on the island is quite intense. The roads are good, but mostly in one lane and without a shoulder. The terrain is mountainous and there are many difficult sections. They didn’t take a car - Gunta drove us around the northern part of the island in her car for a small surcharge and showed and told us about local sights for 6 hours. You can take a car - but I warn you - a runabout simply won’t pull uphill. Yes, and the asphalt here is with the addition of marble, I think that in wet weather it most likely slips a lot. I advise everyone to visit the city of Rhodes, namely the Old Town with the castle of the masters. The bus runs every 15 minutes - 2.5 euro ticket. But a taxi from the hotel to the center is 8 euros for 3 people! We only traveled by taxi - as this bus was constantly packed. And that taxi can be reached in 7-8 minutes. I also advise everyone to visit an excursion to Linos, as well as visit 7 springs and go through a 200-meter narrow, not consecrated, tunnel (ankle-deep in water) and be cleansed, according to legend, of 7 sins. In short, we liked everything - and next time we will go only to Greece (not any Turkey) !! !
