Hello. Well, as usual, when we have a wonderful vacation, there is no particular need to write reviews about the hotel and the rest in general... so I decided to break all stereotypes and write in hot pursuit. We had a rest with a friend in Rhodes - 28.04. 2011-5.05. 2011-05-11 it was a delightful week of rest. Rhodes is an amazing holiday destination for both families and young people. Our Blue Horizon hotel is located at the foot of the sacred mountain Felerimos - the town of Ialyssos on the very shores of the Aegean Sea, 8 km from the capital of Rhodes. Weather: arrived on the morning of April 28. A bit chilly (although my girlfriend was freezing all the time). But it was raining for a few days, but in principle it didn’t really bother us, because we devoted the first 3 days to independent excursions. In the final 2 days (May 3-4) we swam and sunbathed. . it was warm enough that we managed to roast like grilled chickens. Sea: the sea is just fabulous. . I generally love the Aegean Sea. It is very different and very beautiful. . the water in the Aegean Sea always invigorates... even in summer. But it is always clean and smells unusually (not dead fish), the sea smells fresh - it's like cutting a watermelon and this faint, barely perceptible smell of sweetness. …. Room: we got a family room, but the beds can be moved apart. Very clean. . with amazing views of the neighboring hotel and the sea. The rooms were cleaned every day. staff -3 girls were very quickly cleaned in all rooms. They washed the windows, changed towels every day, put hygiene items in… for which many thanks to them… they put money for cleaning 4 times, so no one ever took them… there was not a single case of loss… Hotel: in appearance the hotel is average… maybe where then Soviet-style… but inside… very comfortable, modern and in the Greek style. The rooms are generally very comfortable. Everything is new, clean, fresh... (towels, appliances, and furniture). The bathroom is excellent overall. . Food: I want to say right away that before going I read reviews about the disgusting food at the hotel. ALL THIS IS A LIE. BREAKFASTS ARE JUST DELICIOUS. FOR ME GENERALLY BREAKFAST-COFFEE WITH A BUN. and then coffee, tea, milk, everything is poured by waiters, buns and muffins of 5 types for sure. Salads, cheeses, sausage, fried bacon (a terrific thing, especially if everything is poured with a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar), fried eggs, and tender omelettes. From fruits - apples and oranges. But to be honest, they didn’t reach their hands. We had breakfast and dinner included in the price. An ideal option for those who do not like to sit still and prefer to combine outdoor activities with vegetables. Dinners are generally a separate issue: about 10 hot dishes, 7 types of salads, a lot of vegetables, gravy, sauces and oils. Meat was cooked there simply divine - no soy substitutes. . if the chicken is in batter, soft tender. If the beef is the tongue in a spicy sauce. If seafood - then all the variety from squid to octopus... magical paella won me over (this is like our pilaf only with seafood). Wines and drinks are offered for extra. fee (coffee or tea approximately 2.5 euros, homemade Greek wine -10 euros per bottle). Many thanks to Tanya - she is a waiter in the restaurant. she seems to be a Moldavian, but she speaks excellent Russian - an extremely sympathetic girl. We dined exclusively in establishments in the town itself - we ate real Greek food in places where the Greeks themselves travel. . (Greek salad, green salad, squid in batter, grilled octopus, homemade Greek red wine, moussaka) Entertainment: I highly recommend going to play tennis - it is free for guests, but you need to sign up in advance. Together with a familiar couple, we took 2 hours of the game in a row... everyone got a great tan, played enough and shook everything that was eaten at dinner and breakfast. To my great regret, we didn’t get to Colorado - a prestigious club - an amazing hangout place in the capital - the very thing to light it up. Excursions: as a result, we got on 1 excursion to Lindos. And they regretted it. All galloping across Europe. Everyone saw with one eye. It is better and cheaper to travel around the island on your own. We ourselves visited Mount Felerimos - for us the cost of this independent excursion was about 10 euros - the price of a taxi and the entrance to the monastery. (instead of 35 euros from the tour operator). We ourselves went to the capital of Rhodes (from Ialyssos to Rhodes, the price of the issue of transport back and forth is 4.2 euros), where we walked on our own in the city. We climbed the entire embankment and the port of Mandraki. Walked to the cape to the aquarium. We visited the aquarium for 5 euros / adult. We went to the island of Symi - the price of the tour with a guide is 42 euros. We ourselves for 28 euros... I also recommend renting a car, a moped or a bike, in the end, the price of the issue is 5 euros per day. you can ride along the coast and see the whole landscape of Rhodes firsthand... P. S. I HAVE VISITED 11 COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD, BUT I WANT TO VISIT RHODES AGAIN AND AGAIN. THIS IS AN IDEAL OPTION FOR BOTH FAMILIES AND YOUTH. I LOVE THIS COUNTRY. AND ALWAYS REMEMBER: IT IS IMPORTANT TO TAKE A GREAT MOOD WITH YOU ON HOLIDAY - THIS IS A 100% GUARANTEE OF REST TO THE FULLEST REEL. If anyone is inspired by a trip there - I ask you to send a huge hello to the island of my dreams and please drink a glass of homemade Greek wine for me.
