Traveling in Greece, Rhodes. Day 1
We chose a ticket for a long time. We considered Cyprus, but my girlfriend from a travel agency, from whom we constantly go on vacation, set me up specifically for the Greek Islands. For a whole week I rummaged through the wilds of the Internet, comparing hotels, beaches, places of entertainment in different countries, cities and hotels... And in the end I chose it... The island of Rhodes. Washed from the south by the Mediterranean, and from the north by the Aegean seas. Here the Ancient Greek God Helios saw the beautiful nymph Rhodes, fell in love and took her as his wife. Rhodes is truly the island of love =)
Our adventures with Sasha began even before departure. We arrived at Sheremetyevo and neither we nor numerous other tourists could get further to terminal C, which is located at a distance of 12 km from the main one! We flew out at night, so the special bus no longer ran. And I, as a leader and head, took everyone to another terminal to figure out how to get there, and in the end we got by taxi, the buses stopped running at 22-23 hours.
Arrived without problems. As soon as we set foot on Greek soil, we were surprised by the sweet smell of the air! They thought that it was the sweet Greeks who were to blame for everything)))) In Rhodes, everything smells so delicious))
When we arrived at the hotel (Doretta Beach Resort 3 *) and went to the beach, I did not like it at all! Pebbles mixed with sand and algae. But the first impression is deceiving, later we sincerely fell in love with our coast)))
Immediately on the beach, we immediately met Lenka and Kostya from Zheleznodorozhny. Our inseparable friends and companions in most adventures. Lenka and I later took sun loungers and lay down on them right in the sea behind the rocks, so that we could not be seen and sunbathed topless for greater extreme sports and a beautiful tan)))))
In addition, our rooms were close - 445 and 450; ) As a result, we made a bunch of cool friends at the hotel, with whom we still communicate via the Internet; )
We decided to rent a car for 3 days and travel around the island. So at 9 am a red Fiat Panda was delivered to our hotel and we set off!!! ! The first place was the most beautiful and cleanest beach of Tsambiko, at the foot of the most famous church in these places, Moni Tsambika. Mostly young women go to pilgrimage here, whose cherished desire is to have children. If the Mother of God heeds their requests, then the newborn boy is given the name Tsambiko, and the girls - Tsambika. It was touching that women whose dream came true, in gratitude, leave there not only jewelry, but toys, as well as photographs of their long-awaited children. 290 steps uphill along the stairs carved into the rock - the task is not an easy one, but we mastered it in the future!
What an amazing view it was!
And the mountain goats that came down to see us!! ! =)))
Everyone loved the beach too! Water many meters ahead strikes with transparency!
Then we went to the Ancient city of Lindos. A white strip of houses borders the slope of a small peninsula up to half the height, and a rock rises steeply above it. It is crowned by the walls and battlements of the great castle of the Ioannites, behind which the columns of the ancient temple of Athena Lindia are still visible. Olives and cypresses form green specks on the slope leading down from the village to a spacious bay bordered by two beaches.
We decided to have lunch at a restaurant on the coast, with a view of the sea and a "little" Russian-speaking waiter. I asked him if they had large portions, to which he waved his hands: “It’s okay, the portions are normal sizeaaa! ” In the end, we ordered a salad and a hot second. How I regretted later that I listened to this “normalnooooo” !!! ! The tuna salad barely fit on the table, and I generally keep quiet about the hot one! We fed him almost entirely to animals, while paying 42 euros for it. I could not eat so much, and everyone else could barely cope with their portions))) It was delicious by the way, everything was unreal! By the way, even in ancient times, the neighbors envied the Rhodians: “They eat as if tomorrow is the end of the world; they build as if they had the immortality of the gods. "
We stuffed our bellies so much that we could hardly go to Lindos....Especially in hell goruuuu!!!! ! Under the scorching sun! At the top, I realized that my head was just splitting and I could not fully enjoy the beauty of those places. But there was something to see! Amazing views!
Then, exhausted, they went down to the famous bay in the shape of a heart. Sasha and I began to descend in the wrong place, and therefore we had to literally slide down and jump off the rocks!
By the way, where there is a ledge in the center of the heart, we dived into the water from a protruding cliff; ) I didn’t want to, but Sasha promised that my head would stop hurting (I apparently had a heat stroke) and I also dived. It was cool! But the head didn't go.
I forgot to write about the place, which we also visited on the way to Lindos! The famous Seven Springs. In the shady mountains their cold and fast waters flow. Peacocks and white geese majestically walk along the banks (it seems they are). And they all flow into a 180-meter tunnel cut under the mountain. According to legend, the one who passes through this dark, narrowing in the middle, long tunnel under the rock, knee-deep in icy running water, will be cleansed of sins and become 7 years younger! I sincerely believed!
In the evening we went to the city to look for discos, but there were none and we returned back to the hotel to get drunk at the bar))))
I can't believe that all of this happened in just one day!
Continue sitting.... .
