We just returned from Greece yesterday - we rested in Sithonia at the Lagomandra Beach 4 * hotel. We are just delighted!
The hotel staff works very well. Thanks to the administrators, especially Elina, who speaks good Russian. Thanks to the guides Mouzenidis Pasha and Vladlena, with whom we could clarify any questions. Thanks to the maids who cleaned the room daily and whom we did not even see. Thanks to the waiters in the restaurant and in the tavern!
Before choosing a hotel, I turned over a whole mountain of information. Most of the reviews about this hotel were good, but there were also a couple that made me doubt it. Now, having lived in this place for 11 days, I want to say that those who write that - what is bad, especially about food, is obviously just evil competitors. Moreover, there were no empty rooms at all in our hotel, and in the neighborhood in hotels only 2-3 windows shone in the evening.

The main complaints were about food and the lack of entertainment in the hotel itself. As for food, it’s all nonsense, there is a lot of food and for every taste! We liked almost everything, of course, I can’t repeat the names of the dishes, but it was very, very tasty! And the meat there were vegetables, and a lot of salads, and sweets are just a separate song! And 4 types of ice cream were for everyone, and not just for small children, as they wrote. Yes, indeed, in the morning all types of drinks were free - and tea , and coffee, and juices, and hot milk. In the evening, everything is paid! The guys and girls who served in the restaurant worked very well and smoothly, quietly, silently, quickly. At the same time, they all smiled.
Several times we went to dine at the Pirat tavern on the lower road. Very tasty and inexpensive. The waitress Anna speaks good Russian and is very sociable.
As for entertainment, for all the time there was a Greek evening with amazing music and folk dances. I want to say that the music sounded always and everywhere - in the hotel restaurant, and on the bus on the way to excursions, and in the hotel bus on the way to Neo Marmaras, the music is very pleasant, quiet and unobtrusive.
Since we like to walk a lot, the lack of entertainment contributed to long walks on foot along the lower road. It was just great - shrubs and flowers bloom everywhere, which in our homeland we see only in the botanical garden! In bloom, cacti, pomegranate trees, oranges ripen and dates, medlar and apricots. Stunning smell of pine, eucalyptus, geranium and honeysuckle!
After a hearty dinner, these hikes were even necessary. The sea is noisy nearby, the birds are singing - just a fairy tale! We bought a mask with a snorkel and swam over the rocks. This is an unforgettable experience for me! The water is clear, every grain of sand at the bottom is visible, not to mention the fish, octopuses, starfish and all sorts of anemone sponges. There are a lot of sea urchins, however, closer to the rolling pins on both sides of the beach.
The sea was quite cold all the time of our stay - no more than 20-21 degrees, but since the air warmed up to 30 degrees on land, it was nice to swim and bask in the sun. True, I don’t know how the little children felt, of which there were many , for them, after all, it's cold. Although many swam in a warm and clean pool.

Our room was overlooking the pool, a family two-room, although we were only the two of us with my husband. The room has a TV, a refrigerator, a small safe, free of charge, a hairdryer, shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom. Everything opens and closes with a magnetic card, that is When you leave and take out the card, then not only the light turns off, but naturally, the refrigerator as well.
We went on an excursion to Thessaloniki and Meteora. Thessaloniki impressed with its size - the white city lies on the seashore with many bays. From above, it's beauty! There was a sightseeing tour of the city and to the temple of St. Demetrius. Then there were 4 hours of free time, we walked along the promenade, the market and the shops.
But a trip to Meteora is just a shock! In our opinion, it’s worth going to Greece just to see this miracle! The day was sunny, but the sky was in clouds, we climbed high into the mountains, the view was simply amazing! Of course, it’s a long drive, but it’s worth it!
On the way back, we had a stop at Kassandra in the Potidea hotel in the wine cellar. There was a wine tasting, and then you could buy something - souvenirs or the wine you liked. I bought a sponge there, which I read a lot about, it is hard, but when wet it becomes very pleasant to the body.
I would also like to note the amazing punctuality of the transport. The meeting in Meteora was at 5:10 in the morning, so the huge double-decker bus arrived at that time and not a minute later. We had to leave Thessaloniki at 15:45, and the guide warned us not to be late. Well, our people were 10-15 min pah, no time. So the bus left without 4 people. The same thing happened with the hotel bus that goes to Neo Marmaras. One or two days in advance, you need to buy a round-trip ticket right away. both times half of the people did not have time to leave, and there were couples with babies in strollers and elderly foreigners. The driver waited two minutes and drove off. For us it was a little strange, although understandable.
On Thursday in Neo Marmaras there is a market where you can buy everything you want at a lower price. This is a beautiful town with a port full of yachts and fishing boats.
So our vacation was a success!
