The sea was still cold at first, but by the end of the week they were already swimming with might and main.

We rested with my husband in June 2011, we liked the hotel very much despite some minor flaws. The room is quite comfortable, air conditioning, bathroom, toilet, TV with 1 Russian channel, hair dryer. From dishes 2 glasses, 2 glasses. The only downside is the fridge, which didn't get cold at all. Breakfasts are monotonously tolerant (eggs in stock), but for dinner there is always a very large selection: both 1st and 2nd (in stock), dessert - ice cream (very tasty nutty), cakes, fruits.

Of the shortcomings in terms of nutrition - dry rations, which are not particularly full (a couple of slices of bread, 5 gr. jar of pate, 2 of the same jam, an apple and juice) and which also needs to be knocked out. Otherwise, everything is very nice and romantic, for those who want peace and tranquility, that's it! I really liked the trip on a rented scooter to the other side of the island, to Bol, which took place along the serpentine of Vidovaya Gora - the beauty of landscapes, incredible aromas and a beach with small pebbles on Cape Golden Horn - this is something !! ! I also liked the excursion to the Plitvice Lakes, which are better to see once than hear a hundred times. Croatia - wait for us and we'll be back!

Whichever side your room is on, you will not be able to fully relax - on the one hand, there is a passing road, on the other, supposedly looking at the sea, there is a parking lot that is covered with gravel, so even the hotel staff on carts will make you tense up, not talking about all the parking and slamming the doors of their cars.

Whichever side your room is on, you will not be able to fully relax - on the one hand, there is a passing road, on the other, supposedly looking at the sea, there is a parking lot that is covered with gravel, so even the hotel staff on carts will make you tense up, not talking about all the parking and slamming the doors of their cars. Cleaning of the room - only the bed is made and towels are changed, although it is clear that the foot towels are not stretched. Dust on the furniture is not wiped. ONLY AFTER MY REQUEST, on the second week of rest, the maid brought a vacuum cleaner in the room, but it was of little use - everything that was under the bed was simply taken out to the middle of the room. And you don’t even have to dream about wet cleaning!
Meals: breakfast is offered on the first floor of the hotel, everything is clean and tidy, there is a nice outdoor terrace, but these are 2 menus that simply alternate every other day. Dinner is held in the common Velaris restaurant, but this is a complete copy of the Soviet canteen! The assortment is very poor, I'm not even talking about vegetables, even in season it's grated carrots and unripe tomatoes. Waitresses are called upon not to serve you, but only to collect dirty dishes in trolleys, which they push in front of them, touching those who are having dinner at the tables. Immediately before your eyes, the remnants of food will be raked into a common pan, also say thank you if your clothes and the tablecloth on the table at which you are having dinner are not soiled. By the way, here you will be firmly assigned a place for the entire period of your stay, and, as you know, acquaintances are not always pleasant, or you did not expect to spend every evening in the company of a young family and their eternally screaming children. Great convenience!
The territory has been cleaned, but not ennobled, only dry crumbling needles, a few sculptures and benches. Everything. The beach is not cleaned, butts on the beach are normal. But most of all, the view of the sunbeds is amazing. It seems that they have been standing on a dirty heavy road for half a year, and the staff does not have the thought of washing (or at least wiping) these sunbeds so that it can be seen that they are white. But they collect money for them regularly, they check 2 times a day on what basis you occupy this sunbed. So with this money you at least keep the recreation area in good condition !! ! They do not speak Russian at the hotel reception, moreover, they will not bother to give you the information left for you. You ask - move. Immediately at the reception, something like a bar counter is fenced off, but it works for some 2 hours a day, rather in the evening. So coffee is practically an SUPER dream, not for everyone. There is no swimming pool in the hotel, no bowling, and there is no need to talk about animation. In general, in 5 years, maybe it will be 4 *, but for now it’s barely a C grade... And in general, if you really have a rest in Croatia, then only in Istria!

Nice, new building in the Velaris hotel complex. This is not my first holiday experience in Croatia (previous Hotel Madena review left). The hotel is positioned as 4 * probably for Croatia it is. The room is large (we had a room with an extra bed) and cozy, with a good bathroom. Breakfasts were held in the restaurant of the Amor building (summer area under palm trees) from where we simply did not want to leave.

The room is large (we had a room with an extra bed) and cozy, with a good bathroom. Breakfasts were held in the restaurant of the Amor building (summer area under palm trees) from where we simply did not want to leave. The hotel employs very friendly staff, who not only listens to your problems with a smile and immediately forgets about them, but also eliminates them to the best of their ability.
Well, as always, there is still a tiny fly in the ointment in a barrel of honey: bed linen was changed only after the request, despite the fact that towels were changed every day, wet cleaning was done only after the appropriate sign was posted. Yes, there is no landscape overlooking the sea from the windows, one side of the building overlooks the road (but let's say the traffic on it is minimal) the other to the parking lot and at a great distance to the sea. About the restaurant food in the Velaris complex (this is a moderately large restaurant), it is not very diverse, i. e. the choice of dishes in one evening is not very wide and drinks for a fee.
The hotel has a nice lobby and an excellent terrace on the top floor with comfortable chairs and tables, where it is nice to sit with a glass of wine in the evening.
