We had planned to go to the Adriatic for a long time and finally got together this year. The question immediately arose - Croatia or Montenegro. After studying the reviews on the Internet, they chose Croatia, especially since the travel agency also advised her. Waterman Hotel Supetrus Brac.
Since we were driving, there were doubts, as it turned out later, whether we could travel around the country, but still agreed. We decided to look back and forth on Croatia.
To see more, after Zagreb in Karlovac, they turned off the highway. I liked Croatia. Beautiful mountain views, clean air, unusual aromas. On the way, mostly villages, Croats live in them sparingly, although the peculiarities of poverty are also imperceptible. Sometimes there were traces of war - burned houses, bullet marks on the walls, but rarely. The roads are good and after spending the night on the road, we reached Split. There to the port by ferry and about an hour later we are on the island of Brac in Supetar.

Although the hotel is close to the city center, we still had to look for it a bit. We stopped a couple of times, asked for directions. The fact that Croats understand Ukrainian turned out to be not entirely true, but it is possible to "understand" something. Here is the hotel.
What immediately caught my eye were the balconies draped with colorful towels. As it turned out later, the reason for this illumination in a complex system is either a deposit or payment for beach towels. Then we also did not understand it, we went and bought our own, but everything is in order.
The reception was full of people, we did not feel much attention to ourselves. Why be surprised here - the hotel is a lot of great people. However, we were not made to wait long either. Immediately took the documents, said an hour's walk, as the room is not ready. However, the settlement was from 14.00, and we arrived at 12.00. Well, take a walk like that. Put the car in the parking lot (paid, 4 euros per day), went to inspect.
The hotel is very big. It consists of several parts - "Cactus", "Adria Club", "Holiday Club" and something else, not fully understood. Several swimming pools, restaurants. Not far from the sea.
The sea itself can be divided into two parts - in the east a small quiet bay, facing the port of Supetar and in the north the main coastline. The bay was good, with a sandy bottom and small pebbles on the shore, shallow, just for children. But there were always a lot of people there, and where there are a lot of people there is a lot of garbage. The north shore was completely different - on top of concrete platforms, then 5-10 meters of large pebbles, piers that went further into the sea. From the piers they jumped into the sea or went down the stairs, and from the shore they came only in slippers. The bottom of the sea was in stones, sometimes sharp, sea urchins came across, so slippers were not necessary. The shore and piers are lined with sunbeds with umbrellas, paid.
One deck chair is a little more than 3 euros (25 kuna), an umbrella is a little less than 3 euros (20 kuna) a day. The beaches are all urban. There are relatively few people.

But back to the hotel. The area is large, fairly clean, green. There are fluffy pines, thick palm trees, figs, olives, some bushes taller than a human being (it seems rhododendron), lavender… this is where my knowledge of botany ends. And it all smells. Then I really enjoyed walking around the area. It's a pity there were no benches to sit and sit.
So an hour passed and we returned to the reception. There we were immediately given the key to the room and a map of the area, which noted where our building, restaurant, pool. No attendants. Our part of the hotel was called Adria Club. Found quickly, here is our room. You know, I expected the worst. The room turned out to be very decent. Not small, recently renovated, fresh furniture and plumbing.
Large double bed for my wife and single bed for a child. Normal TV (although only one Russian channel), air conditioning, a small balcony. Very comfortable bathroom.
Since lunch ended at 2 pm, we ate first, then unpacked and our rest began.
About rest. I'll start with the sea. For some reason I thought it would be warmer. The water temperature is the same as in the Black Sea, but the sea itself is completely different. More salty, transparent, indescribable blue-green color. Beaches, as I wrote, are all urban. On the one hand, this is a minus - they are not cleaned enough (although not very dirty), and on the other hand a plus - in the evening you could walk along the sea, admire the sunset.
The weather is very comfortable. . During the day the temperature rose to 30 degrees, maybe a little higher, but in the evening the heat subsided, the nights were not suffocating. Slept with open balcony door, air conditioning was not included. There was no rain for two weeks.
One day was a little cloudy.
Accommodation. I have already written about the number. I liked it. Towels were cleaned and changed daily, the bed was changed three times in two weeks according to a schedule known only to them (then in 5 days, then in 2). Tipping was not left in the room, I do not think it is accepted there.

We ate on an all-inclusive basis. Fans of Turkish holidays will be disappointed, but you will not stay hungry either. There is a choice, though without frills. My wife didn't like it. To the question “what is wrong? She replied, "They're cooking like we do, but I want something exotic. " When I was reminded of stewed mussels and rice with shrimp, the answer was "I don't eat it"… Women's logic. Alcohol was also offered. I liked the wine, the beer so-so. Good brewed coffee.
Animation. Very good for children. The daughter did not get out of the mini-club. For adults, I don't even know what to write. In the afternoon, games, gymnastics, and in the evening some performances that almost no one goes to.
What to do in the evening? After dinner we always went to the sea to watch the sunset. Stunningly beautiful. It's a pity, the sun set very quickly. Then the evening promenade began. An alley ran along the sea from the hotel to the center of Supetar. Slowly it could be passed in 15-20 minutes. Shops, cafes and game attractions were located on both sides of the street. Paintings and souvenirs were sold, music was played. As the sun set, the street was filled with people. Everyone found something to their liking - some watched artists paint, some ate ice cream (very tasty), some drank wine, and some bathed in the sea. So the evening passed.
It was difficult with excursions - the island. On the ferry we went to Split ourselves, walked through the narrow streets of the old town, climbed a bell tower, and came back. On a small ship we went to the pirate town of Omis in the company of Poles and Italians (mostly).
There they moved to boats, rode through the canyon among the mountains. Beautiful. But all in silence, without a guide. Good wine on the ship was served in unlimited quantities. So by the end of the trip, everyone was talking in some Polish-Italian dialect.
A few words about vacationers. The audience is very different. By nationality, the whole of Europe - from Italians to Norwegians. In terms of solvency, people are also very different. Fiat Uno and BMW X5 could be seen in the parking lot. There were Ukrainians and Russians too, but no more. They behaved politely, all through "excuses", smiling at each other. Of course, impudence was sometimes encountered, not without it, but rarely.

What else? There are no problems with money exchange. They change in bank branches, at the post office, and there are just exchange offices. Exchange rate 7.25 kuna per euro. We bought souvenirs, wine, summer shoes at a discount.
This is how the rest turned out. Everything is democratic. Europe.
And on the way home we had an accident, and had to see Croatia "from the inside". But this is a completely different story.
