Time is August 2020. Family with a 7 year old child.
This hotel is perfect in every way. The only relative minus is the high price of accommodation, but at the same time, the impression of the hotel is “not a pity for a penny”.
The choice in favor of Croatia was made because, unlike Turkey and Montenegro, Croatia required PCR for entry, this gave a small chance that there would be no sick people on the plane from Kyiv.
I want to say that I personally really liked traveling in this format - everything is clean, beautiful, there are few people, no one climbs on their heads either at the airport or on the beach. I'm afraid that next time it won't be like this - judging by the reviews, the Croatian coast in August is quite crowded at normal times.

The hotel is located in the middle between two towns - Brela on one side and Baska Voda on the other, and stands on one of the most beautiful European beaches. In fact, there are three beaches near the hotel - very small pebbles with paid sunbeds and umbrellas, larger pebbles - there are hotel free sunbeds and beautiful large umbrellas, and the third, where there are large pebbles without sunbeds, but with inflatable slides in the sea. At about 11 o'clock, a local uncle arrives on a motorboat-fruit shop, brings local inexpensive figs and watermelons and the entire range of summer fruits from the supermarket at prices about three times higher than in Kiev.
A little above the beach, at the beginning of the stairs to the hotel, there is a small restaurant, also belonging to Berulia. It has very good cuisine, snow-white starched napkins, prices are normal, slightly higher than in Brela.
The staircase leads past the pools and the terrace of the restaurant to the entrance to the hotel and has about 100 steps. It will be difficult for the elderly, unhealthy, people with disabilities to overcome them. There is another road around the hotel on the roadway, but I would still recommend choosing a more flat hotel.
The hotel has recently undergone a complete refurbishment. Croatia is full of "Soviet" hotels, and photographs of Berulia raised fears that she was one of them. But the operator claimed that everything was fresh and new, and so it turned out. Modern repair, plumbing, appliances work without interruption. We booked a superior room with sea view and it was the best decision. Stunning sunsets, sea, opposite islands, pine trees. We fell in love with Croatia! The rooms have large balconies with glass railings.
The superior rooms are quite spacious, with a double bed, a fold-out full-size bed, an armchair with a small table and a small dining table with chairs. Safe, mini-bar, bathrobes - everything, as everywhere in hotels of this level. They cleaned very high quality, served unobtrusively, for all the time they only saw the maid once. Perhaps this is due to the anti-covid measures that have been taken at the hotel. Among them, the main one is the small occupancy of the hotel, in my opinion, about half of the rooms were empty. More than one family or one person was asked not to enter the elevator. Most of the time they walked up the stairs. Masks were handed out at the reception and in the restaurant, they were asked to put them on indoors, except for rooms and the restaurant, sanitizers are everywhere. All staff wear masks at all times, including on the open terraces of restaurants, near pools, etc.

WiFi is free and it catches well everywhere, including reaching the beach.
The restaurant deserves the highest praise, the cuisine is excellent, the service is impeccable. Absolutely everything was prepared qualitatively and tasty. A showcase with hot meat dishes, a showcase with hot fish dishes, another with appetizers, a separate wok, separate salads. Roasting not suitable? Wait a minute, let's do just the way you like it. Small table with small desserts : ) No huge puffy biscuits with synthetic cream, as is often the case in hotels. Everything is neat, small, with a soul, as the table is empty, they bring more and more desserts.
We had breakfast and dinner paid for, we went to a restaurant above the beach for lunch.
Every evening there was some kind of event on the terrace of the bar. Most often, artists sang, but there were also entertainments like a fire show.
Brela and Baska Voda are connected by a small footpath along the beach, it is very pleasant to walk along it in the evening, closer to the towns it passes by bars and cafes.
The locals are very friendly and cultured, nice, neat and calm. No rudeness, no obsession, no rubbish. The embankment looks like it is vacuumed every morning. And maybe it is : )
I would very much like to come back to Croatia, travel to different places, around the islands, but also definitely come back to Berulia again.
Z. Y. Accounts are confusing. A handful of our checks were not claimed at the reception, but another handful was counted, we could not identify these expenses. According to our calculations, the hotel took a little less than we signed the bills. But it could be the other way around, so check your bills.
While writing a review, prices for the summer of 2021 appeared. Did the operator set the price higher than last year by 600 euros? The hotel website, on the contrary, offers discounts.
