Before going to Heviz, I looked for reviews on the Internet, it turned out that there were very few of them. I was grateful to the people who enlightened me, leaving a few lines about my vacation. Therefore, I leave my review about the Helios hotel. (I had a rest from October 5 to October 12.2008) The weather was mostly sunny, it reached 20 degrees Celsius. Arrived well, no problems.
Helios consists of 2 buildings - Anna and Benjamin. Anna is more expensive, because the rooms are refurbished and big enough. Both buildings have one restaurant and a building where medical procedures take place. Everything is easy enough to find. The staff is friendly, no complaints. They give terry bathrobes, very comfortable.
In general, it is worth going there for those who decide to treat their joints and back. They fixed my neck in a week, I'm satisfied. They treat well. The environment is calm, quiet. No dancing, no entertainment, the city goes to bed early. If you are lucky, you will meet the guide - Zita Pozhitskaya. No one else will work with you except for her. I was not lucky, because Zita was away and arrived only a day before my departure for Moscow.

The contingent is German pensioners. Leisure will have to deal with yourself (if there is time). I took a bike and reached Keszthely, Balaton in an hour. There is also a horse rental not far from the hotel. Excursion to Vienna takes place on Saturdays and costs about 70 euros. Paid in forints. There is no exchange in the hotel, I changed money in a small shop next to the hotel. I didn’t have to go to Budapest, excursions there on Sundays. Of course, you can go to Budapest on your own, but it takes a whole day. From the hotel there is a minibus to Keszthely, and from there you can take the train to Nepliget in 2.5 hours. But you need to know the train and bus schedule. From Heviz to Budapest 200 km, to Vienna less - 180 km.
To the very lake Heviz 500 meters down, you can walk, you can get on a small train with trailers. The minus of the hotel is far from the lake, there are hotels closer to it. Helios stands on the outskirts.
Nutrition. Breakfasts are monotonous, from hot - fried sausages, scrambled eggs fried in lard. There is quite decent cottage cheese, a couple of times they gave porridge. For the rest, eat sandwiches with hams and cheeses. Dinner is good, everything is delicious, pastries are not bad.
Entrance to the lake to swim is paid. You enter the premises, pay, swim in the indoor baths or swim out to the lake. Please note: the load on the heart is serious, they do not recommend swimming there, only hanging in circles. I didn’t swim in the lake - there is a pool in Helios with water from the lake. Even at that time the swimming pool was open with normal water, the water was 25 degrees, so some pennies were swimming there too. There is a pool with surprises - you will massage all parts of the body.
I went alone for a week and did not regret it, there is no time to be bored there if you go for treatment.
So decide for yourself, if there is nothing to treat, then in principle there is nothing to do in Heviz. If there is something to treat, then I highly recommend it. They say that joints and spine are treated here better than in Israel.
