Tour "Pearls of Europe" from 30.04 to 09.05. 2008 was organized by the tour operator Delta Travel (Kyiv), the group leader is Irma Stetsko.
The tour is great! - Thoughtful, well organized and there are no special claims. But since it is new, I will allow myself to express my opinion about it (I think that it is quite objective). Tour program: Budapest, Vienna, Venice, Ljubljana, Lake Heviz. Now in order.
1. There were no problems with boarding the group on the train. True, we were accommodated in several wagons, but everything went fine.
2. At the border in Chop we got a little stuck (relatively, of course! ) - we crossed the border for 3.5-4 hours. Considering that this border is now the only one! - that's all right. They changed money at the border at the rate of 240.36 forints for one euro. For comparison, in Budapest - 250 forints.
3. There were no problems with accommodation at the hotel. Irma organized a group dinner for us at the Trophy for 20 euros (buffet). Everyone liked it: very well!
4. Overview of Budapest went well. In general, I liked the optional excursion in Szentendre - 15 euros, plus 1600 forints (wine tasting) and 400 forints (entrance to the marzipan museum). We also ordered a set lunch for 2000 forints. I didn't order so I can't say. The opinions of the rest were very different.
5. Moving to Vienna - 238 km. Without excesses. In Vienna, at about 13:00, we were met by our guide Suzanne. I don’t even want to talk about the guide Suzanne (in Vienna). It is very strange that such guides work in Vienna. Disgusting Russian, complete unwillingness to give tourists what they paid decent money for. She drove along the same streets and talked mainly about the tragic events.
The next day, Suzanne disrupted our optional excursion to the Vienna Woods (like she got lost !!! ), which cost 20 euros. As a result, we didn’t get to the underground lake, but in Baden she dragged us up the mountain. And then she threw the whole group rushing down at the speed of light. Two girls from the group got a little lost and were late for about 7 minutes, and then the whole group announced that we would not have time for the underground lake! - what was needed for Suzanne (she was not going there at all! ) Then she was taken to Vienna, and we were dropped off in Schö nbrunn. For an hour and a half left to us for this time - we only managed to walk along the fountain in the park of the palace....It was very disappointing for the day in Vienna "stolen" from us by the guide! In response to our indignation, the company returned half the cost of this optional excursion to us. Upon arrival in the center of Vienna, we still had time to drink coffee in a Viennese cafe and eat Viennese strudel! Delicious! I recommend! Sitting in a cafe cost me 13 euros (200 g of wine, 2 cups of coffee and apple strudel).
6. At 5 pm we left Vienna in the direction of Venice. Amazingly beautiful nature! Overnight stay at the Egger Hotel. Student hotel in the mountains. Clean linen, hot water, decent breakfast.
7. At the beginning of the seventh morning we set off towards Venice. Mountains around, snow caps, green forests. . . it's impossible to break away! A huge number of tunnels, we counted about 50... perhaps a little mistaken! Italy met with the brightest sun! Approaching Venice, the weather changed: clouds, and then the rain poured down! Venice is fabulous! Must see at least once! Of course, everything is very expensive! But it was predictable. On a water tram (for 13 euros) we drove from the mainland to Venice. We walked through the labyrinth of streets, went to the pier and went for a gondola ride (cost - 20 euros). If you manage to attach a video, then you can ride with us. Then there was a small survey of St. Mark's Square. We went to the Grand Canal. We said goodbye to the guide, and then we ran to conquer Venice on our own. We walked around the market and bought a few souvenirs. We ate pizza! Being in Italy - try pizza! We were returning back to St. Mark's Square, we got a little lost! Thanks for the pointers, we made it on time! Last snapshots! We leave by water taxi (cost 16 euros). There were some excesses: two tourists refused to pay for their delivery from the mainland to Venice.
8. Moving to Slovenia. Overnight in Postojna. Morning excursion to the stalactite cave (20 euros). Everyone liked it very much.
9. Heading to Ljubljana. Very cozy warm Slovenian capital. We walked up to the observation deck to the Ljubljana Castle, back on the funicular for 1.5 euros.
10. End. From Ljubljana we moved to Keszthely (Hungary, Balaton) for the night. Great hotel, great breakfast buffet. In the morning we went to the baths on Lake Heviz. Very impressed. The lotuses are just opening up. Warm healing water. On the way back, everyone was dozing on the bus.
11. We arrived in Budapest at about 4 pm. Settled in the Rege hotel on the Buda side. There was still time for the evening promenade and farewell to Budapest. The breakfast was very mediocre compared to previous days. But quite sufficient. We left Budapest for almost an hour (traffic jams, however! ) There was practically no time left for Tesco in Nyiredhaza - 30 minutes and that's it!
12. We got to the "Hungarian lunch" at the border. Who knows - will understand! On the nerves (less than an hour left before the train! ) All eyes looked through in search of border guards! Finally passed, we were released from the Schengen zone. Here is the border post: Ukraine! Familiar letters, familiar currency (though not very convertible! ) An incomparably cheap toilet at the Chop Station! And here is the train! We are on our way home.
13. To sum up: the tour is excellent.
Disadvantage: a guide to Vienna.

1. Ljubljana to visit at the beginning of the tour - she just "got lost" after Venice. Even though it's no less charming.
2. Describe in more detail the cost of possible costs for tourists (for example, the cost of transport in Venice), which cannot be avoided.
