Holidays in Bali fell on us like snow on our heads. And at first we put our heads under Thailand. And only a week before departure, having both tickets and booked hotels in our hands, we came face to face with the political situation of distant Thailand. As a result, in 2 days we found a last-minute ticket to Bali. With accommodation at the Bali Tropic Resort 4 * hotel for 13 nights and a flight, we paid $ 1660 per person.

I must say right away that the hotel is very nice. Yes, they are all good there, but ours was distinguished by its relative diminutiveness, everyone lives in small 2-storey bungalows. We lived on the 2nd floor and were terribly happy about this - sitting on a very large terrace under the windows of the room, you feel like in a garden, since the crowns of trees from here look like bushes or flower beds. At the same time, no one walks past, as past the rooms on the first floor. The paths wind throughout the territory and, if desired, you can get lost.

If you look at the map, the Nusa Dua area is located on a tiny peninsula and all the hotels are located in a chain one after another along the ocean. On foot, as we habitually tried to do, you can’t get out of there anywhere, there are no sidewalks at all, everyone rides something, usually motorcycles. There are no pedestrians as a class at all! So we hung around a little, almost burned out on a very difficult path, and didn't do that again. Small shuttle buses run from the hotel to the hotel according to a certain schedule. On them you can get: on one - to the Bali Collection shopping center, on the other to a store like Ausha (I think Hardis). If you need to go to a restaurant, go to the porter and ask to call a taxi to a certain restaurant (you will be advised, they won’t say anything bad) and you will be taken by taxi to the restaurant and back for free (if you go there). The fact that the food is inexpensive, everyone writes and it's true. But, as a rule, everyone's appetite is different. We had a couple living with us who managed to eat for $80. We did not manage to do this during our entire stay. Up to $ 35 (with wine) for two people lasted a couple of times, and so it cost around $ 25.

We dined with purchased fruits, mostly mangoes. They are amazing there. The best ones are green, not the biggest ones. They must be soft. We bought them in the markets when we went on excursions. At first, when we were told the price of 20.000 rupees per kg ($ 1.8), we traded up to 15-16.000 rupees, and then we got used to it and bought for 9.000, that is, less than a dollar per kg.

About excursions, probably, someone will write more and more interesting. I will only say that we found a wonderful young man who took us anywhere at a very reasonable price. Working in a tour desk, he knows all excursions well and very truthfully describes all the pros and cons, offers good options and generally treats his work with amazing politeness, seriousness and honesty. Maybe they are all like that, since there are many similar reviews, but we continue to correspond with this one named Gede even now. For those who speak English, I would recommend him. I can’t find his phone number, but if you contact him by mail, he will let you know. He threatens to learn Russian by the age of five.

We took the trip to Bali calmly and tell without that enthusiasm, like many others. But we are all different and our expectations are different. It's really nice there, but it was stuffy for us, especially after leaving the air-conditioned room. But after some time, everything fell into place. Here are just warnings about the sun, do not pass by your ears. So, as there, in Bali, in my opinion, it does not burn anywhere. We tanned under the awning, smeared with cream.

One more caveat. I am a biologist by training and all the time I looked around in search of living creatures. We got to the huge starfish during a strong ebb. Well, I was attentive and when I felt a slight prick in my leg, (I thought: “Nettle! ” What the hell, nettles in the sea! ) I looked more closely and found deposits of sea urchins. God saved us from big troubles on the eve of departure.

I advise you to fly to Java. Just do not listen to your teroperators, who will shake a lot of money out of you. And to go there is elementary for $200-230. And it's worth flying. For us, this day was remembered much deeper and more emotionally. Still, the temples, which are 1100 and 1000 years old and which have been preserved to the smallest detail in the figures of people, are impressive!

Have a good holiday in Bali!
