Now, from December 1.2014, we receive a monthly visa in electronic form, you can do it yourself via the Internet or at any travel agency (according to experience, it takes from one to 3 days) If you are traveling with children who do not yet have their passport, and entered to the parent, a visa for a child is made separately at the embassy, this takes a week, if time is running out, you can pay extra at the embassy for an urgent visa.
With the new system, the Indians, as always, are not yet very friendly, people stood in line for 2 hours to get a stamp. I recommend that you immediately grab the immigration card at the GOA airport and run into the queue, fill out the card there already. This is where the fuss of many begins in search of a pen.
For Ukrainians (and everyone who does not have a visa on arrival), the whole thing takes place in a separate room, when you are stamped, you do NOT need to stand in another queue to go through control. When you arrive at the place, you will understand what it is about. Many, from ignorance of the language or excessive modesty, stand in lines 2 times.
IMPORTANT! For those traveling with children, make sure that the airport official stamps the arrival stamp on the child's visa as well.
Arriving at the place, at some point it seemed that every second family was wandering along the beach with small children, they met children even with newborns.
Where to live:
I recommend booking accommodation for only 1-2 days, after arriving at the place, you go for a walk, and then you understand exactly where you are most comfortable, which location is the most attractive for you. Price and of course bargaining.
We go to Arambol, this time we stayed at Casa White Guest House, near the beach, clean, tidy (by Indian standards), wifi catches on the balcony, $ 20 per day
There are also houses on the rocks overlooking the sea, a day $ 11, a bungalow is cheaper. Do you want Indian comfort, there are wooden bungalows on the beach for $100 per night, rooms with TVs, but in my opinion, watching TV in Goa is a crime
Things to do:
Yoga, massages, various sections. See off the sun, sunset on the beach to the sounds of drummers and dancing, gathering at 17.00
Standard excursions will be offered to you at any travel agency on the street, but I recommend renting a bike (for those who are afraid, don't be afraid))) get on the bike and start your journey wherever your eyes look ....it will be better than any excursions!
Of the recommended places Paradise Beach! A wild beach with white sand, no people, a coniferous forest overlooks the ocean, near a palm grove, here you can rent a bungalow at ridiculous prices and stay away from civilization. How to get there? Ask any local.
I recommend going to the night market.
There you can buy interesting clothes and all sorts of things, there are also a couple of discos for whites, concerts, cafes
Connection:
When buying a SIM card, you will be asked for a passport and 1 printed photo for documents. Nuance, you will be offered a number that will be activated after 3 days. Say that you need it already activated (it will just be registered on the passport of another person), ask to connect the Internet (1 gig is already included in this package)
Of course diapers are sold there. I didn’t find baby food, puree in Arambol, we went to another village to the supermarket, there is a wide range, even more than we are used to, all sorts of vanilla porridge, etc. if you give your child special water for children, I didn’t find this either ...so they just bought water called "give the best")))
