Trip to Hampi
Hello! We were in North Goa at the Rio Resort Hotel from December 31 to January 8.2012. Of the excursions, we decided to go only to Hampi. I really wanted to go on my own, on a sleeper-bus or by train. Slipper bass is such a bus with lying places. As a result, it turned out that there were no tickets for the next 3 days for either the bus or the train !! ! Therefore, if you want to go there yourself, take care of tickets in advance. Our operator Capers charged $190/$220 (three stars/5 stars) per person for this tour. Therefore, we decided to go with a street company for 150 bucks per person, provided that we get there comfortably. Drive to Hampi for at least 8 hours. As a result, Toyota was submitted for 8 seats. There was another couple in the car, plus the driver and guide. But they went for two more people. It turned out that instead of the promised comfort, we would just go back to back the three of us !! ! This was not part of our plans. At the same time, another couple took an excursion elsewhere and they were charged $ 170 per person for the fact that there will be 4 tourists, not 6 !! ! Naturally, these guys were sent. We didn't go anywhere. The money was returned. There was only one option left - to take an excursion from the hotel guide Capers. Our hotel guide Katya appeared to be a real angel, in fact - just a pussy. . . lokoy. We immediately told her that this morning we sent a company because they wanted to lead us in the 6th. She replied that of course they could not have such a thing and that you would go in the 4th. We agreed. In the morning we got into the same Toyota, went for other "two" tourists)). But they turned out to be not the 2nd but the 3rd! We ask them - did you know what you were getting into? They say - no, we were told that you will go in comfort and be able to sleep on the road. Of course they called Katya, they swore. But let's go. As a result, one tourist was put forward, as she was seasick, and the guide was taken on the half of the road to one couple and on the half of the road to another. In general, I’m not a whimsical person, but driving along Indian roads with my knees resting in the seat, when there are two more carpenters with you, plus they save on air conditioning (they turn it on and off) is just hard. Now a separate word about our guide for the duration of this tour. We were promised a Russian. In fact, they gave us an Indian with very, I repeat, very bad Russian pronunciation. In the end, we understood less than half of what he said.... At the same time, the guide, who was supposed to go with us from a street company, spoke Russian simply flawlessly. . . In Hampi, we chose a 5-star hotel and did not regret it. Our fellow travelers went to 3 stars and said that it was just bed bugs. And our 5 stars here were a hundred times better than in Goa. The sights of Hampi are simply magnificent. Go, you won't regret it!! ! But it's better to go yourself if you know at least a little English. Because all these agencies are just hucksters and crooks. They haven't taken us to the temple across the river yet. . . Our guide was always in a hurry somewhere. He himself said that he did not like an excursion to Hampi, which is why they probably showed us less than expected. And there are a lot of attractions. In general, we really liked India. If you can ignore the picturesque garbage dumps and dirt, then go. We will for sure come back here.
