Goa is not without freaks!
Hello! We often visit Goa. They were both in the North and in the South. It's boring in the South, there's nothing to do in the evening. It is more fun in the North, there is something to do in the evening and at night, animals in the form of pigs, cows and even elephants can be found near the hotels. But there are also disadvantages: a lot more people, dirtier, the sea is more muddy, more red and coarse sand. Hotels are also different, in the North they are worse than those of equal number (*) in the South, but the price is correspondingly different, the North is cheaper. We will not stay at the northern hotels, because the last time we were there 3 years ago and they could have been restored or, on the contrary, something has changed for the worse.
In South Goa, I really liked the Kenilworth hotel. We were there in early 2007. There are few rooms, they are clean and spacious. On the territory of the palm grove - large and well-groomed. Very nice and big swimming pool with different depths, jacuzzi and bar. The staff is friendly and unobtrusive.
Not bad breakfasts.
We had lunch and dinner on Utorda beach, next to the hotel, in Lloyd’s shek. A wonderful guy Rocky worked there, smiling and courteous, speaking Russian. We ordered shark, barracuda, monkfish, lobsters, shrimp, crabs, etc. everything is super! Delicious freshly squeezed juices! This season (autumn 2007-2008) a lot has changed. Kenilworth closed beach access after 7 p. m. to allow tourists to dine at the hotel at inflated fixed prices. But through the reception you can go out at any time and go to the beach along the road next to Galaxy.
Now the number of sheks has increased. Lloyd's Cafe rents Rocky and is located to the right of Kenilworth, closer to Galaxy, next to the sea. This year you can order fireworks from him, ride a scooter and order lamb on a spit, and everything that was described above is also delicious, because the chef has remained the same. Everything is clean, nice and the price is negotiable.
We don't go to "Shanai's" cafe as a matter of principle, although its location is the closest to Kenilworth on the left, we don't want to financially support the freak who rapes Russian tourists. We don't know Agneo's name for sure. In principle, Goa is very nice and calm, you just need to follow at least some safety rules. Every family has its black sheep! Another trait of his character is to beat the staff who work for him. Also, a fan of giving a tourist a fish 10 days old for freshly caught.
If you relax on the Majorda beach, uncle Kolya has the best Camron shek there. It also has a great kitchen and is clean. He speaks Russian and is generally a wonderful and pleasant person. True, we can’t say anything about the Majorda hotel itself, because we didn’t rest in it.
But we were at the Nanu Resort. Betalbatim beach. Not a bad hotel, justifies its 3 *. But in a relatively small area there are a lot of 2-storey houses with rooms. Towels are only in the rooms and there are no beach towels.
The pool is small. Despite the large number of rooms in the restaurant, there are not many people. Meals at the HB hotel (breakfast and dinner). Breakfast is decent, dinner not so much. A small selection of dishes and more aimed at the Indians, who rested with us a lot. Live music every evening which was not bad. But there were days when holidays were arranged for Indians, not only those living in the hotel, but also those who specially came to the performances. And then the music in the restaurant and the music from their holidays merged into one - complete chaos turned out, although it was fun to look at their competitions, dances and their colorful, national clothes.
We often went to dinner on the beach, in the nearest blue shek to the hotel. Not bad guys work there, they serve quite quickly and their prices are lower than in other shacks on this beach. There is a Russian menu.
In general, Goa is a great place to stay! Beautiful beaches, warm ocean and smiling, friendly people
If you want to have fun, hang out, then you should go to North Goa. And if you want a relaxing, family vacation, then it is better to visit South Goa.
