"Golestan" is translated as "Palace of Roses" and is a complex of several buildings. It is best to buy a general admission ticket for $3 right away. Photography in the halls is prohibited, but thanks to the small size of the camera, I managed to take a lot of good pictures.

It took me about three hours to inspect the complex. During this time, you can see all the pavilions, which are more than twenty. The main ones are the Marble Throne Hall, the Anthropological Museum, the Diamond Hall, the Museum of Photography, the Portrait Gallery, the Art Gallery, Shamsolemarakh - a building with two towers, and the Hall of Mirrors. In Golestan you can get acquainted with folk clothes, fabrics and tapestries, musical instruments, ceramics, paintings by Iranian and European artists.

The central premise of the complex is the "Marble Throne" (Takht e Marmar).

The throne that has survived to this day is made of 65 pieces of yellow marble brought from Yazd. The hall was used for official receptions and coronations.

The most interesting pavilion was the “Mirror Hall”. The interior is richly decorated with mirrors, marble and wood carvings. In the hall there are copies of the throne and the crown worn by the shah. The originals were transferred to the Treasury of the National Bank of Iran. Unfortunately I didn't manage to take a picture of the hall itself.

Visit the Shamsolemarakh (House of the Sun) pavilion, famous for its unusual architecture. Although all the unusualness lies only in the fact that the design is a mixture of eastern and western architecture. It is much more interesting to look inside and admire the hall of mirrors.

The most beautiful pavilion I have seen is called "Emarat-e-Badgir" (House of Badgir), the interior decoration of the hall, mosaics and mirrors are amazing.

I saw such beauty only in the "Palace of Sheki Khans" in Sheki, Azerbaijan.

In the basement of the same building there is a museum of photographs.

Golestan is a very interesting place, be sure to include it in your list of attractions.
