Before leaving, we read a lot of reviews about Sri Lanka and the Bentota Club Hotel to be fully equipped. Checked - the more negative reviews I read, the more I like everything later.
I still do not understand the fact why some tourists complain about the humidity and dampness in the room, while others do not. In our case, everything was fine, the room was located in the depths of the territory - superior No. 346, the closet was ventilated, nothing was damp there, on the terrace they themselves attached a rope from a long and strong root of some plant creeping along the beach. Washed things dried, of course, not as quickly as at home, but nothing, the air conditioner worked properly in the room, there was no dampness. The first five days there was no rain at all, despite the forecasted precipitation, then there were several unobtrusive rains, which did not interfere with the rest. Bathed in the waves to expend the calories consumed. I liked the food, especially considering that this is a trio, I can’t even think of anything to complain about. Yes, everyone writes about midges, maybe this is also very individual, I myself saw an Englishman so white with big bites, the size of a penny... At least we have something! They took the OFF repellent, at first they splashed for reinsurance in the evening, when they sat on the terrace and looked at the fireflies, after that they spat. Well, upon arrival home, there were several bites, nonsense, like ordinary mosquitoes itched a little... All this is unworthy of attention and squandering emotions, as well as irritation during our precious vacation. There are a lot of positive things that will please you, I don’t want to repeat myself about the beauties and special atmosphere of this country. I liked their rum, but there will be no Sri Lankan rum in duty free, so if you want, look in local stores, we bought Bacardi Cuban rum, tea is good and inexpensive in a supermarket on the way to Alyutgama. By the way, the settlement where the hotel is located is called Alyutgama, not Bentota, Bentota is further along the road to the south, it is much smaller than Alyutgama, so that there is no confusion when you explain yourself with a tuk-tuker. Pineapples can not be bought home very sweet for a dollar - two, right on the street, you just have to put them in your luggage, for some reason they demand. With the flight and docking in Sharjah, everything went very well and effortlessly, we noticed that in Sharjah all the clocks at the airport were not running correctly. There were waves in the ocean all the time, but it's great! The main thing is to jump on top to ride. It’s a pity we didn’t see how the turtles on the beach lay their eggs in the sand on a full moon, although we were invited by the whipboy to look, we didn’t find the strength not to sleep at night. But they saw footprints in the sand. Living creatures are pleasing to the eye, as well as vegetation. Everything is fine if you are in the mood to relax, and not to find fault with the service, it's a completely different life, we'd better accumulate good memories and string them like beads, and sort them out like a rosary on rainy autumn evenings.
