In this hotel we spent 5 days out of 8 on the island. I will describe my general impressions of Sri Lanka and the hotel in particular. The country is poor, and therefore they try to save on everything - there is simply very poor lighting in the room, you are always in twilight. There is only one lamp by the bed, so only one person can read. All plumbing, furnishings in the room are old and primitive - and this is 4 stars!
Only in this hotel it seemed to the porter that he was given a little tip and he asked for more - impudence, in my opinion. But overall the staff is very friendly and helpful. There was very good animation here - during the day and in the evening they played volleyball with vacationers, every evening they gave a cheerful concert.
I liked the territory of the hotel, there are a lot of chipmunks, which all vacationers are happy to feed. We did not see other beaches on the coast, but this one was quite satisfying. The nature is simply amazing - a warm ocean, a mild climate, it never rained, touching animals.
We absolutely did not like the food in Sri Lanka. There was no shortage, but all the food seemed tasteless. There was practically no meat. Every other time there was tough beef or fatty pork. But the chicken was fine. Even rare sausages and those were chicken. You can write a separate review about spices - even the coleslaw was with pepper : ) And we didn’t even take everything in the title that included curry, chilli or pepper. For lunch, salads were served from boiled eggs and sausages left over from breakfast. Coffee and alcohol are exceptionally lame. Tea is a must in Sri Lanka : )
We really liked the excursions and the cultural program - interesting and informative. Private transfer is great! Bought tea, textiles and drugs. stones : )
