We rested in Serf from November 1 to November 12.2011.
The first two days it rained, the rest of the time it was beach weather. The ocean is just a fairy tale. Space, clean sand, clean ocean. The ocean is very salty and raging! ! you can take small surfers to ride the waves, it costs only 2 dollars per hour. They can be rented two minutes from the hotel, on the beach near the neighboring Touch Exotic Hotel. The hotel is just great. Nothing extra. Lobby bar, restaurant, meadow with sun loungers.
The food was excellent, not spicy. There was always meat, chicken, fish, seafood, fruits, vegetables, sweets. We had an all inclusive, so between lunch and dinner you can drink coffee with cookies or a muffin. Local drinks are good arak, gin. Wine is not included in the all inclusive. And in general in Sri Lanka imported grapes. The cost of wine in the store is min 15 USD per bottle. For tourists, the prices are even higher, they sell it in separate shops, not in the super market. So I advise you to take it with you.

The hotel rooms are very good, the staff is cool, very friendly. If Sri Lanka is only in surf. There are a lot of Ukrainians and Germans in the hotel.
The hotel has very little seafood, to really taste them I recommend going to restaurants, they are 5-10 minutes from the hotel, by tuk-tuk (local transport) 2 minutes. Ride a tuk-tuk in two directions to a restaurant or supermarket $2.
There are a lot of tuk-tuks even near the hotel. The restaurants have very cool seafood lobsters, huge shrimp and squid. At restaurant prices - 100 grams of lobster - $ 6 (1 lobster is about half a kilogram), huge shrimp 5 pieces (enough for two) $ 30. Portion of squid (big plate for two) $10. To this all bring vegetable salad and rice. Also coconut bread with garlic sauce. Cool restaurants - Amal and Grill House. Everything is nearby.
About shopping. In Sri Lanka, they buy tea, oil, creams, stones and souvenirs made of wood and stone. We were on a tour in the spice garden, where they offer to buy oils and creams, the average cost of oil is $ 25. In the supermarket and in stores, their price is 2-4 dollars. Good oils are olive, sandalwood and rose. Tea in souvenir boxes is also better to buy in a regular supermarket, or if at a tea factory, then in bags of two hundred grams ($ 2), souvenir ones are much more expensive !!!!
I advise you to take an excursion for two days Kandy Spit Sigiriya. Separately in Halle (from 8.30 in the morning and at 15-00 you are already at the hotel, the cost is 30 USD for two if with a tuk-tuk Michael t. 009.777953510)
We went on a two-day trip with a Russian-speaking guide - Surangid Kumara +94776057912. lkadvis@aol. com. There were four of us, it cost $190. per person (this is with accommodation for 1 night in a hotel) Everything was super!!!!!!!!!
In general, Sri Lanka impressed, my best trip)))
