Vacationing with my husband. We are a young couple, we love to travel, see new and interesting things. We took a tour with an excursion for 3 days (Sigiriya, Kandy, Dambula, Pinavella) and 7 days of the beach. Excursions did not impress us, I would say they were fresh and boring. Of all that I saw in 3 days, I liked only the elephants and the tea factory (because Ceylon is tea), where they bought tea, by the way, inexpensively, as many write and scare with high prices, recommending buying in supermarkets. Tea in supermarkets is of the worst quality. The locals themselves told us that many of them go to buy good quality tea in shops at factories. We were brought to Pinavella for dinner, we also liked it there, although we did not expect anything good. Instead of a viewing platform - cafes. You can eat in them (buffet + beer for two cost about $ 15) and watch bathing elephants at the same time.
Next is the ocean. And here it is Ze Surf! We arrived late in the evening (it was already dark). Greeted with smiles, served juice and wet towels. Settled in rooms. The rooms are normal (everything is as in the pictures and photos on the Internet). The territory is small. When you look at the photo of the hotel and see palm trees (sparsely), dry grass and the sea - this is the whole territory. What struck me was the absence of flowers on the territory (damn exotic). Even on the railway (across the road from the entrance to the hotel) many flowering bushes and weeds were planted, and not a single flower was observed on the territory, but chipmunks and crows like in a zoo)). The pool was off to the side and looked like a Soviet one. Bar - the same as the pool 8). The hotel has a lot of foreigners but not younger than 45-50 years old, 2-3 couples of young people. Boring... From entertainment - two posts for a volleyball net. My husband tried to play volleyball, he already found a company, and the ball was given out under responsibility, but they don’t have a net. We said we'd think of something, but it didn't work out. As a result, they passed the ball back without playing. The Internet is available at the reception, but if there are already 3 people sitting there, then turn around and bring your toun back. . . There is a cord connector in the room, but the cord is provided only for use in the reception hall. The rooms were cleaned, things were not stolen. The room has a kettle, tea, coffee, water, sugar. The refrigerator is locked, if you use the minibar - it will be opened for you. An iron can be requested. The ocean is warm, the sand is clean, the waves are high, algae, etc. there are no bastards. You can walk at your leisure along the beach in one direction, the next day - in the other direction. We walked to a Buddhist temple. The temple is a small artificial cave in the thickets of the jungle, a small stupa, trees of their saint and two monks asking for money at the exit. We went on an excursion to Nuwara Eliya from the Sabu tuk tuker (nice guy standing near the gate with other tuk tuks). $180 for 4 people. We looked at tea plantations, climbed the Horton Plateau (approximately 20 USD per person and 7 km on foot) looked at the "end of the world" - in Crimea, Ai-Petri is much more beautiful. Hard road - very tired. Went to Wunderbar, Amal - good restaurants. In general, Sri Lanka was not impressed. So for show, you can go (on last minute trips 8)).
