Hello to everyone who is going to go on vacation to Ceylon. Two weeks ago, my husband and I returned from this fabulous country, and we will be happy to help everyone who is going there and cannot decide where to go, because they themselves have been rushing around with the choice of a hotel for a very long time.
And so, I'll start from the beginning. The first advice - who wants to get to know the country, and not spend the whole vacation on the beach, take the excursion program directly from your tour operator, since on the spot from excursions you can only be offered a walk along the Bentota River. We visited 4 cities - the capital of Colombo (dirty and not very interesting, shopping is focused on local women, it completely diverges from our concepts of fashion), Kandy (very picturesque and beautiful), one of the most interesting excursions is climbing Mount Sigiriya. A picturesque view of the whole of Sri Lanka opens up, on the mountain itself there are a lot of monkeys with which you can safely take a picture, some of them even pose for you. So that all excursions are interesting in their own way, you should definitely get to know the country better, there will be a lot of emotions, I promise you.
Now, as for the hotel itself, Tai Exotic is really one of the best on the Bentota coast. We walked along the beach, along the coast, indeed this hotel looks very good compared to the rest. Well, this hotel has some drawbacks: the rooms have high humidity, the pillows give off dampness, the number of rooms is a little shabby for 5, it does not pull, the influence of the 2004 tsunami is felt. Well, there are no more disadvantages. The hotel is very huge green, clean, well-groomed territory, friendly staff, all rooms overlook the ocean, a lot of cool chipmunks run around the hotel, which you can feed with nuts from your hands, as well as many different birds and other animals. As for food, we were fed very well. Food for every taste. For lovers of spicy food is presented near the pool, a little further in the room is European food. As for entertainment, they are completely absent, there are no discos, animations. But there is a free sauna, jacuzzi, gym.

Now, as for the ocean itself and the weather. As we were told, the rainy season ends in November, but the locals "rejoiced" us, and said that the season starts on December 15, but in general, after the tsunami and earthquake in Indonesia, the climate has changed a lot. It rained almost every day, there was a storm on the ocean, so we did not manage to see the Cote d'Azur.
