I don't usually write reviews, but I decided to make an exception! It's very good there!
Rested in the middle of June in Sri Lanka in Vivanta by taj
1. Flight. The flight, everything is cool, a little long, but we lost our luggage (during the docking in Abu Dhabi), so, advice, take toothbrushes, camera chargers and swimwear in your hand luggage, just in case. Our luggage was finally found, but only on the 5th day, it spoiled our honeymoon a little ...Thanks to the meeting party, they really fussed to find the luggage! And in Bentota, it turned out to be extremely difficult to buy a swimsuit, and you should have seen which one, you wouldn’t have bought one from us, but I had to ...
2. Excursions. We took a 2-day tour of the island to Sigiriya, Kandy, Pinavella, etc. - we liked it. We are very grateful to our travel agency that after all they included these cities in a 2-day program - usually it is stretched for 3 days. Two days was enough.
3. Hotel. The hotel is cool.

They settled in a good room, made a surprise for the honeymoon - wine, fruits, flowers, cake ...Thanks to the travel agency - they wrote in huge letters in the application for booking a request to organize it.
4. Entertainment. I don’t know how anyone, but we weren’t bored at the hotel ...On the contrary, it’s a pity that it got dark at 18.30, there wasn’t enough time for everything. We had fun, near the pool we constantly did aqua aerobics, then played volleyball, water polo, table tennis. “Athlete” (as he calls himself) like a sports animator, he was cool, he constantly entertained us, he really loves our tourists, he says that we are more active than Indians, etc.
5. Ocean. Well, of course, he is super-duper, warm and powerful. For the first three days, they did not understand at all why everyone was so afraid of him. They rode the waves - super, they couldn't get out of it. . In recent days, the waves have changed, they began to tighten a little. There was less buzz, but they swam all the same - how is it to be on the ocean and sit by the pool?
There was one day the waves were generally strong (they are not high, but they bring a lot of water and are fast, and when the wave leaves, it is hard to resist), we asked the lifeguard to watch us, and continued to flounder without problems. The red flag about the ban on swimming hung throughout the rest, but this definitely did not stop us, especially at the beginning, when the waves were cool ...
6. The season is not the season. They say in Sri Lanka from May to October - off season, rains, etc. Not true ...we really liked this “off season”. There are not many people, beauty, they say in the season, there are crowds of tourists. There is no heat, 30 degrees + breeze - super, the water in the ocean is warm. They say the waves - well, yes, but on the contrary, it's a thrill, it's not interesting to swim in calm ...Rains - we didn't catch them or they didn't catch us. It was once at night and on the day of arrival during the day, but we never got under them, so you shouldn’t bother with the season, although how lucky you are.
7. Nutrition.

Fruits… super-pineapples, bananas, passion fruit, mangosteen, lychee class, MANGO-delicacy. We tried Durian, don’t do such a stupid thing ...it’s terrible, although in order to understand why horror is, you need to try ...
9. Alcohol. Yes, we liked the local beer and even very much, tastier than most of ours ...Red rum is also a topic, just take it in a bottle with a black and red label (it says something like for cocktails), it is more pleasant to drink. And also pay attention to the prices - they push Rum to tourists for 1900 rupees, and for locals the price is -1120 (the prices are all written on the bottles), is there a difference? So the first time we barely begged them to give them at the local price, we didn’t want to, but we gave them, and then we just asked the tuk-tuk man to buy us.
10. Knock knock. Yes, of course, they were still bred ...But we found a cool tuk-tuk driver who carries very cheaply from the hotel, around the city, and then back for 150-200 rupees. We were ashamed to give so much, they gave us a little more for tea.
His name is SABU, he stands near the hotel on a green tuk-tuk, just ask others where Sabu is, he is really modest and unobtrusive, like the rest.
11. Local. They pulled up, especially if you walk into the city, they attach themselves, follow you, and then when you want to buy something, they fly up like they brought, with the expectation of a tip, respectively, they say the price already taking into account these tips, so freeze from everyone , so is the tuk - leave the tuk man away from the tray so that the price is not higher for you. Damn, but how I liked the smiles, kindness in the locals, they all say hello and smile, well, the truth is, they want to sell something. In the reviews they wrote about Nuan (aka Bob, as it turned out later) he kind of likes Russian tourists, don’t introduce yourself, he just bred ...and lies a lot more ...don’t be fooled, although he may seem cool to some, you know - his goal is - what - then you sell, and not chat, as he says.
12. Livestock.

Damn, I just fell in love with chipmunks, I ran to feed them every day, to the stones, on the territory of the hotel, it's such a thrill when they eat from your hands in a crowd. . in the end, they just ran in a crowd to the pool and I already fed them there with my hands, they really liked our Ukrainian shortbread cookies.
13. Conclusion. The rest was wonderful, memorable, I advise Sri Lanka and Vivanta. When we chose a hotel, we wanted to go to Bentota Beach, but for some reason it turned out to be much more expensive and it's great that we ended up in Vivanta by Taj. Were on the territory of Bentota Beach - it is much worse there. Sri Lanka is cool and out of season, I would return there again, though in 10 years - we want to visit many more countries. And the main thing is to go in a good mood, not to look for negativity, and not to sit in the room for a long time, but to enjoy nature and the ocean.

I hope my review will be useful to you!
