Seeing the ocean is the dream of almost every tourist, and I was no exception : ) We chose the hotel for a short time and did not read the reviews. Never regretted! We liked the hotel, everything is very beautiful, both outside and inside. The rooms were not new, but did not complain. We even managed to buy tiger prawns in the market and boil them in a kettle : ))))))) My godfather is quick-witted : ) We only had breakfast, you can’t take anything out of the restaurant, even if the person didn’t come for breakfast. But we won back a couple of kume sandwiches. They gave fruits, delicious, yoghurts. There was plenty of food! We went for lunch and dinner nearby, there are a lot of restaurants, sometimes we went to another hotel. It turned out that it was possible to walk along the shore : ) As we did later. We were on excursions, went to Kandy, to the elephant nursery (I even watered the baby elephant from a bottle).
As for the ocean itself, my glasses and lenses were taken away, and swimming in it is simply unrealistic, we just raged and jumped in the waves. Sea of pleasure and positive. Chipmunks constantly ran to the sun loungers, we fed them and took pictures : )
In the evenings, they came to the bar and enjoyed delicious cocktails (fantastic dried bananas absolutely free) and listened to live music.
There are beach-boys on the beach who will arrange dinner (or lunch) in a hut for money, buy beer, shrimp and everything else. They will lay the table, bring everything, wait for you and clean everything up. They also took us to the store for souvenirs (we safely left 200 bucks there). And in the evening they treated us to rum and played drums for us on the beach!! ! It was super!!!
We bought tea at the factory on the way from Kandy, it was both silver and gold. We took a lot of souvenirs and gifts.
The road took us almost a day with a transfer and waiting for a flight, so take better than 10-11 nights, it's much better for a vacation!!!! ! 7 days were extremely few. We just didn't have time to rest. Didn't want to leave. . .
