Wonderful holiday
We arrived in Negombo at 4.00 am, we were met by a guide and a driver with a car, who escorted us to the hotel for rest. After breakfast, we were met by a guide and we went on a trip around the island. It was an unforgettable experience. I especially liked the fact that for 3 days we had the same guide and driver with a car. We were the only ones in the group. Therefore, we had the opportunity to learn a lot about the country and traditions. The only negative is that you constantly had to carry things with you, because we spent the night in different hotels. Here we took breakfast and dinner, it was very helpful, tea sets were always in the room. For three days we went on excursions, and then we were brought to the Bentota Beach hotel. The hotel is located in the village near the center. The hotel itself is very beautiful, the territory is all green and well-groomed, I liked everything, but there were also disadvantages. Cons concerned not the hotel. Here we took only breakfast, but what a pity. At 18.00 it is already dark, the hotel area is fully illuminated, and you go outside the territory and civilization is over: it is dark, the shops are closed, and you need to go to the village through a dark bridge. The food in restaurants is very spicy and not adapted for Europeans, although they cook very tasty. During the day, the bazaar has an abundance of various fruits. There is no entertainment either in the hotel or outside the territory. I also recommend taking mosquito repellent with you, here they are very biting. Most of all I liked the fact that there were no Russian-speaking tourists in the mail hotels, the staff speaks English. If you want to relax your body and soul, we recommend this country, there is something to see there.
