I just returned from this wonderful country and I want to share my impressions! Rest on the ocean is just a fairy tale. Lush vegetation, pure sand, exotic living creatures, while sunbathing on the beach, the sun is almost not felt, but after a couple of days you won’t notice how you burn out. Be prudent and at first be more in the shadows. In general, everything is in order.
We took a tour from Kyiv and we have already taken into account 3 days of excursions around Kandy and attractions. I say right away, on the ocean coast you can buy the same excursions cheaper and with the same service! At the airport, we were met by a guide "grandfather" about 50 years old, Russian-speaking, who took us to the Topaz Hotel, 3 * - nothing, you can stay for three days. Immediately the mood fell, when in the morning looking at the sky you can’t see the sun, it’s constantly cloudy and it’s raining. Do not hang your nose - on the coast the weather is completely different !! ! But everything you see on excursions makes you not pay attention to it.
Once again about the guide Damik, who tried all three days to drag us to his room with the pretext of drinking local rum and eating mangoes. Do not see his offers to go for a massage (Ayurveda) - it sucks. Firstly, go through some wilds at night, pay 30 bucks for the fact that some grubby boy will massage you on a dirty, scuffed couch with smelly oil, trying to touch all intimate places, while ruining my favorite underwear with the same oil , and after all, trying to wash me in an unsanitary tiny shower right in the room where there are couches, covered with Soviet-era oilcloth. One thing that impressed me was the sauna. It is certainly something. Like a coffin : ) - a barrel, in the middle of which there is a wooden grate, steam comes out of it, you lie down in it, and your head remains outside. For a long time, however, it cannot be sustained. In general, I went out and said that I had the impression that I was brought to some kind of brothel and raped. For which they smiled sweetly at me and said that I need to give a tip !! ! I laughed hysterically. So, do not waste your money and time, but rather go to the normal civilized Ayurveda centers on the coast, such as "Laluna" or at our hotel "Riverina". A very unusual Shiradara procedure. Euphoric states. . . Don't miss it! Complete relaxation and unforgettable new sensations are guaranteed!

Another point, the program says an excursion to the silk factory. DECEPTION! this is pure shopping and the same guide did not warn us about this. They bring you to a store where girls in identical saris surround you and start talking to buy junk, which are sold in our markets even cheaper.
There was also an ugly situation on the last day of our stay at the same Topaz hotel, we were billed for breakfast! Oops - what a surprise. Read carefully the program that travel agencies give and calculate how much breakfast and dinner are included. Were in the Royal Botanical Garden all with the same guide. He does not know the names of trees and flowers (except for orchids), and when I asked the question: what is it, he replied that he was not a botanist. The conclusion suggests itself: what kind of ben are YOU giving us an excursion to the botanical garden and where is a normal guide ?!
But we rode an elephant, we got there already when twilight began. And that made the experience even more intense. Especially when the local "driver" of the elephant forced me to do an acrobatic trick on an elephant called "butterfly" : ))).
Spice garden. It is very beautiful and interesting, but you should not buy spices there, also about tea - buy it cheaper in the supermarket too. On this negative is over and now about the pleasant : ).

We arrived at Riverina. Well, now complete relaxation. The hotel is very popular, judging by the population and the diversity of nations. There are very few Russians, and even more so Ukrainians, although I was pleasantly surprised to see 5 people from Belarus. There are a lot of Poles, Englishmen (not surprisingly, Sri Lanka was an English colony in the past), Germans (and where are there few of them? ), there are Italians and Frenchmen (we have not seen). We caught 3 local weddings, the ceremonies were held in our hotel and the photo shoot took place by the pool. Surprisingly! : ) At the end of our holiday, a whole diligation of Indians settled in, the Sri Lankans from Colombo also have a rest. This did not bother me at all (after reading the reviews here, it even somehow became unpleasant for me that they were called untidy and dirty - nothing like that !! ! and their children are just bubbly - very beautiful). The hotel area is small, but cozy and clean. More strained the old cellulite and mutilated bodies of Europeans. Lying by the pool, I got the impression that I was in some kind of sanatorium for paraplegics. There were copies from the movie "Hellraisers".
Food. Breakfasts are the same as everywhere else (believe me, I have already flown half a ball) - you want European, sliced ​ ​ u200bu200bcheese & kelbas, fruits (although these are not the fruits that you can buy on the layout in the city, but I generally keep quiet about watermelon - this is a parody of watermelon, and also they eat avocados with sugar, ha ha, and we eat salt or shrimp), breakfast cereals, fried eggs, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, lots of rice, vermicelli, sausages, chicken wings, etc. Spicy everything stood apart and was written CURRY. The fries were different. That's what's strange - they drink Nescafe coffee. And then I found a jar of brewed local coffee - tasteless. As it turned out, before the tea plantations in Sri Lanka there were coffee plantations, but some virus infected the coffee trees and they were cut down. We had HB, so I can’t write about lunch. Dinner was themed every night. Mexican Cuisine, Indian Cuisine, Italian Cuisine etc. And the dinner was accompanied by musicians whose entourage corresponded to a certain country. Again, there were a lot of salads - do not be afraid to try !! ! It may look strange salad, but the taste is divine. Who still wants to do without experiments, that is, tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage, onions - a classic option. Soups. It's more difficult with them. The mashed mamalyga that looks green is not for me, but tomato, vermicelli, potato ones are quite tasty. Water, tea and coffee for free, alcohol, cocktails - for a fee. The sweet table was broken. Mousses, cakes, ice cream, jelly, cakes - yum-yum - do not ignore! Especially some white jellyfish; ).
Rooms. For 3 stars, it's normal, but not always, when exchanging for clean towels, they give the same amount. And do not take adapters and raptors. This is all in the hotel and you will not have mosquitoes if you allow the attendants to change the pills in the raptors on time. And every evening we were decorated with flowers on the bed - well, it's very nice : ) We were immediately given a room on the first floor - it smelled of moisture, they changed it to the 3rd one - it smelled of something else, but they made a allowance for the fact that it's still the tropics : ))
Fun. Hardly ever. The hotel has a bar where you can get drunk and neigh with foreigners as they light. We went to the disco in the city. Disco Nitsche so, club music plays, in between live reggae music, in general, the local population are fans of Bob Marley. But I did not think that reggae in such quantities could get bored. Smoke marijuana. As for something heavier, I don't know.

We went to the jungle. It's unforgettable!! ! We also saw a crocodile, you won’t surprise us with a monitor lizard, because on the island where we swam, these monitor lizards walked almost over their heads. We saw a blue bird, a yellow bird, monkeys. Chipmunks are also in bulk both in the hotel and in nature in general.
The local population is very friendly, calm, many speak several languages. And Russian as well.
And also the thrill of the ocean, when you are lying on the board, they let you go along the wave and the wave throws you right on the shore! Bomb!! ! Board or windsurfing can be rented. In general, I really liked it, I want to go back. Ocean +28c, warm, beautiful and cheap. And we have 17s. Cool? : )
